Chapter 472: Do You Still Want to Clear This?

January 17, 2020 · 2 min read · 457 words

"Stay right where you are! Nobody move!"

When all the wall lamps went out and darkness fell, Yang Chen shouted to warn everyone.

At that point the three editors were still in the warehouse and hadn't fully made their way out. Ah Nan and Huya happened to be right between the shelves. They were walking ahead and hadn't realized that Weiba hadn't caught up.

The room was pitch-black. The only light came from a computer monitor. Weiba leaned sideways, her face slowly drawing close to the screen.

As she approached, the face inside the monitor grew clearer.

A deep-green outline, bulging outward—like a corpse submerged in water slowly rising to the surface.

She stared intently at the face on the screen. It had no hair, seemingly because it had been soaked in some kind of liquid for so long that it had swollen and turned pale.

"This outline…"

She pulled the white sheet of paper from her pocket and crouched in front of the monitor, unfolding it.

Her slender, pale fingers came to rest on the paper. Weiba's eyes widened slowly. She realized that the outline printed on the paper and the face inside the computer monitor were an exact match!

"Is this a human face?"

She turned her head to look. The lights outside had all gone out. In the surrounding darkness, she saw the indicator light on the printer come on once more.

A sheet of white paper fell right in front of her.

This time there was no face outline on it. Instead, three words were written—Look Behind You!

Weiba clutched the paper in both hands as an unnamed dread closed in around her. Her body went cold. She couldn't find her teammates, standing alone in the pitch darkness, her neck stiff. She fought the urge to turn around.

The cold glow from the monitor fell across her small frame, which began to shiver uncontrollably. Her pupils trembled in their sockets, and the corner of her eye drifted sideways without her consent.

The black computer screen rippled like the surface of water. Something beneath the "water" was swimming upward.

Weiba didn't dare move, holding her posture, her peripheral vision locked on the screen.

The ripples spread outward, and inside the monitor—where no one else had noticed—a completely bloated face in a ghastly shade of green burst through!

It was too fast, far too fast to react. Weiba could only watch the face come barreling toward her. She wanted to scream, but her throat would not produce a sound.

Her eyes went wide, nearly splitting at the corners.

The swollen face kept closing in—neck, arms, upper body.

Wet hands reached out toward the helpless girl. The creature wanted to drag Weiba into the computer screen!
