Chapter 451: Wind Rises Over the Sea, Black Robe

January 17, 2020 · 4 min read · 895 words

The giant sword struggling in the grasp of the three-headed tiger demon suddenly stopped trembling at Han Li’s gesture of a finger pointed at empty air, but the green glow upon it began to flash wildly.

The tiger demon, spewing forth great clouds of black mist, was momentarily stunned by this. However, before it could react, dozens of slender, pale-golden arcs of lightning shot out from the broad face of the great sword.

These arcs of lightning were incredibly fast, flashing into existence and vanishing in an instant as they raced along the demon’s two furry giant hands, climbing to envelop its massive body entirely, forming a golden net of light that ensnared the monster.

Upon seeing this, all three heads of the monster revealed looks of terror. But before it could take any action, the net of lightning enveloping it exploded under the trigger of Han Li softly uttering a word, “Go!”

The searing, blinding white light completely engulfed the massive body, rendering it invisible.

Even Purple Spirit and the black-robed figure in another part of the battle couldn’t help but glance over in shock. Their opponents, those “Wei Wu” ghosts and the two ghost Yakshas, showed a moment of confusion in their eyes before suddenly abandoning them and fleeing in all directions.

Purple Spirit and the black-robed figure were startled, hesitating for a moment, only to watch helplessly as the creatures escaped into the ghostly mist.

Only the Cryhun Beast took this opportunity, huffing loudly with its large nose. A spray of rosy light shot forth again, catching one of the wraiths trying to flee past it off guard and sweeping it into its maw.

The white light only lasted for a moment before finally fading, returning to normal.

The tiger demon remained standing perfectly still where it was after the light passed, its three heads frozen in expressions of terror, but this expression was fixed without the slightest change.

Then, a chilling wind blew past, and the monster’s colossal body dissolved into ash that filled the sky, disappearing without a trace.

Only the giant sword and a fist-sized, three-colored sphere remained floating in mid-air. The sphere was an interweaving of gray, black, and green, flickering ceaselessly.

Han Li let out a long breath of relief. He beckoned with his hand, and the cyan giant sword emitted a low hum before scattering, transforming into eight flying swords that shot back towards Han Li.

However, four of them turned into useless objects with a flash of green light midway.

The remaining four obediently flew into Han Li’s body and fell into slumber.

The lightning arcs from this engagement had completely drained the previously accumulated “Evil-Repelling Divine Thunder,” necessitating a long period of recovery.

Han Li glanced at the strange sphere. His figure blurred, and with a few flickers, he appeared before the sphere. He then focused his gaze intently upon the object, pondering.

A moment later, a flash of grim coldness crossed his face. He turned one hand over, and another cyan flying sword appeared in his grasp.

With a flash of light, Han Li ruthlessly brought the sword down in a chop.

With a “bang,” the sphere was cleaved in two, and three streams of black gas shot out from within, desperately trying to flee.

But Han Li’s other hand flicked his fingers, and three fireballs the size of eggs shot forth.

After three “puff” sounds, the black gas streams were struck by the fireballs, emitting faint screams as they were utterly consumed by the flames.

These wraiths were exceedingly cunning, having hidden their main souls within the magic treasure simultaneously, hoping to lure him into grabbing it.

If he had truly done so, he would likely have faced a battle for control of his body!

However, he had long anticipated that the fused tiger demon would be destroyed by the “Evil-Repelling Divine Thunder” on his flying swords.

After all, given the immense reputation of Gold-Lightning Bamboo and the “evil-repelling” properties that specifically countered demons, devils, and evil arts, if four flying swords simultaneously unleashed their full power and still couldn’t annihilate a single wraith, there truly would be no justice in the world.

It was precisely because he had this killing move as a backup that he had remained exceptionally calm and confident when stepping into the ghostly mist.

Even when facing the demon-ghost fusion, although he found it bizarre, he had maintained an unruffled demeanor.

Of course, he had originally intended not to use the “Evil-Repelling Divine Thunder” to kill his opponent, mindful of the black-robed figure and Purple Spirit nearby.

He hadn’t expected the fused tiger demon to be astonishingly powerful, and so foolish as to grab his Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Swords with both hands.

Facing such a perfect opportunity to unleash the “Evil-Repelling Divine Thunder,” he naturally wouldn’t let it pass.

And now, it had succeeded in one stroke! The monster, stronger than a late-stage Core Formation cultivator, had been utterly erased from this world.

Han Li looked down at the sphere, now split into two halves, and lightly shook his head before turning to walk towards Purple Spirit.

The black-robed figure’s gaze towards this spot was still full of shock.

Although he hadn’t had a moment to spare to watch Han Li’s battle, he had witnessed the later stages of the ghost demon’s possession, transformation, and fusion.
