Chapter 2521: The Descent of a True Immortal — The Might of the Seal

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,087 words

At that moment, a wave of bloody qi descended from the colossal blood seal high above, sweeping downward. The moment most of the Mahayana cultivators caught a whiff, their chests tightened and a wave of dizziness crashed over them.

Startled, the Mahayana cultivators abandoned any thought of escape. Spiritual light blazed across their bodies as they unleashed a host of defensive treasures, determined to keep the bloody qi at bay first.

"Fellow Daoists, what are you waiting for? Use every means at your disposal now! Against an opponent of this caliber, if we flee without a fight, he'll chase us down and kill us one by one!" Though Ming Zun stood rooted in place, his face had turned ghastly pale upon seeing the Blissful Pure Land of the Brahma River shattered so easily. Nevertheless, he managed to keep a measure of composure and bellowed out.

The moment his words fell, he was the first to act. He opened his mouth toward the sky, and a stream of five-colored radiance unfurled from within, from which a pure-white, jade-like scroll emerged.

He then formed a flurry of hand seals, his fingers darting through them as he pointed repeatedly at the sky.

With a soft "pop," the scroll unfurled into an ancient painting, from which countless silver characters sprayed forth. They spun in circles and transformed into an enormous silver net that surged upward toward the colossal blood seal.

The instant the two met, a thunderous roar erupted, and countless bursts of silver light exploded outward!

The seemingly delicate silver net merely swayed and did not immediately tear apart. Instead, it slowed the downward descent of the great blood seal!

"The Silver Jun Celestial Scripture — it's that Profound Heaven treasure!" Yin Gangzi exclaimed the instant he recognized what he was seeing. After his expression flickered several times, he gritted his teeth and activated a particular technique.

Immediately, explosive booms resounded within his body. Threads of silver radiance surged outward in torrents, and his figure swelled in the wind, transforming into a towering silver giant with green hair cascading over its shoulders, a lion's maw, and ox-like eyes. Standing several dozen zhang tall, he swung both arms violently, conjuring an avalanche of colossal fist-shadows that hammered down upon the blood seal.

Every punch that landed sent a peal of thunder rolling through the void, as though each blow carried the power of divine lightning.

This was the Creation Body of his race.

At the same time, Madame Wu Ling was muttering incantations. Dark light flashed behind her, and abruptly the spectral image of a monstrous creature appeared — one with a pig's head and an ape's body.

The creature threw back its head and let out a long, piercing howl, then opened its massive maw.

The entire sky instantly dimmed. A blood-red mouth of inconceivable size materialized above the blood seal and clamped down with agonizing slowness, as if it intended to swallow the entire seal in a single bite — a truly horrifying sight!

The injured woman in the pale-green palace robes bit down hard on her silver teeth, then unleashed an attack whose momentum was no lesser than that of Ming Zun or Madame Wu Ling. With one hand raised high, a phantom of a seven-colored giant axe over a thousand zhang long materialized in the upper air like a blade propping up the heavens, and cleaved ruthlessly toward the blood seal.

As for the bald giant and the other Mahayana powerhouses, they likewise unleashed their full might against the blood seal — one released dozens of flying knives in a single breath, another clenched a giant light-hand that swept downward, while yet others summoned their Dharmic manifestation avatars and charged straight into the sky.

Though they appeared to strike at different moments, the entire exchange took place in the span of a single breath. All of the attacks converged on the blood seal simultaneously.

Ma Liang let out a cold snort. The golden giant he had become simply pointed a finger at the blood seal and uttered a single word: "Seal."

The blood-colored seal let out a low, whistling hum as the blood mist on its surface quaked violently. Rings of invisible shockwaves rippled outward, sweeping every nearby attack into their path without warning.

An unbelievable sight unfolded.

The silver net, the fist-shadows, the thousand-zhang axe, and the gaping maw — the instant they made contact with the shockwaves, they all froze, locked in place high in the sky. The other treasures tumbled several times through the shockwaves before silently disintegrating into dust.

As for the Dharmic manifestation avatars released by several of the Mahayana cultivators, they crumbled apart inch by inch the moment the shockwaves washed over them.

Such terrifying power made even Ming Zun draw in a sharp breath. He hurriedly opened his mouth and spat a mouthful of essence blood onto the pale, misty painting before him.

More than a dozen blazing silver runes shot forth from within. As soon as they caught the wind, they swelled and abruptly transformed into over a dozen silver light formations of varying sizes.

These formations overlapped in a flash, merging into a single silver pagoda that grew with the wind until it stood seven or eight hundred zhang tall.

With a deafening "bang," the pagoda slammed into the colossal blood seal, causing it to shudder slightly before being forcefully propped up.

But almost immediately, blood mist rolled furiously across the surface of the great seal and crushed the tip of the silver pagoda, causing it to collapse inward by over a zhang. As the silver pagoda flickered and blurred, another zhang crumbled from its summit, and the blood seal plunged downward once more…

And so it went — pause, then plunge!

Though the silver pagoda was clearly on the verge of collapse, it had dramatically slowed the descent of the blood seal.

Madame Wu Ling's face turned white. She shot a sharp glance at Yin Gangzi beside her, then formed a hand seal. The black Dharmic avatar behind her materialized once more, and with a roll of her shoulders, it sank directly into her body and vanished.

In the next instant, her features contorted grotesquely. Black light surged across her flesh, and she too transformed into a titanic figure several dozen zhang tall.

The same pig's body and ape's form as the Dharmic avatar before, but now clad in a suit of grayish-white bone armor, each of her two furry great hands gripping a towering, yellow-hazed broadsword.
