Han Li's pupils contracted slightly at these words, though his face did not drain of color the way Bao's had.
But Daoist Xie, who had remained silent up until now, suddenly spoke — and the words he uttered sent a stir through Han Li's heart.
"The True Ultimate Body! The genuine physical form that only a Profound Immortal can possess?" Daoist Xie said, his tone perfectly calm.
"Oh? A mere counterfeit immortal body actually knows of my True Ultimate Body. It seems your former master must have been someone from the Immortal Realm." The Mother Moth swept a surprised glance over Daoist Xie, clearly somewhat taken aback.
Han Li furrowed his brow and asked directly: "What is a Profound Immortal? Could it be a high-ranking immortal of the Immortal Realm?"
"Profound Immortals aren't truly high-ranking immortals — they're an aberrant existence within the Immortal Realm. They don't normally cultivate Magical Power or True Essence. Instead, they drive themselves mad with physical tempering, walking a Great Dao fundamentally different from that of ordinary immortals. Other immortals call them Body Refining Immortals. In terms of supernatural abilities and raw power, they far surpass ordinary immortals of the same rank. The True Ultimate Body is essentially one of the hallmarks of a Profound Immortal. However, although Profound Immortals who pursue this path are incredibly formidable among low-tier immortals, once they enter the middle and upper echelons of the Immortal Realm, their cultivation becomes extraordinarily difficult — very few manage to reach the highest levels. So while Profound Immortals have a tremendous reputation in the Immortal Realm, those who are actually willing to walk this path are exceedingly rare. You won't easily encounter one." Daoist Xie replied in his characteristically flat tone.
"Body Refining Immortals... that sounds somewhat similar to our human race's Power Cultivators. But if she's not a high-ranking immortal, do you think we still stand a chance in a fight? You should know something about my true abilities." Han Li's expression was exceptionally grim, but his ears twitched ever so slightly, a flicker of something — doubt, resolve — flashed through his eyes, and then he suddenly smiled as he asked.
"If you could seal this woman's True Essence so that she couldn't use her Magical Power, and fight her with physical bodies alone — then with your abilities, there should be roughly a thirty percent chance. Of course, this estimate assumes that this Insect Mother's True Ultimate Body has only recently been completed and hasn't truly solidified yet." Daoist Xie's eyes shimmered with a crystalline light. After a moment of silence, he spoke in a low, heavy voice.
"Bao, you've heard it all. If we fight with everything we have, we still have a thirty percent chance. If you're not willing to risk everything, then our only option is to flee separately. But hoping this beast will let us go is probably a lost cause. At the very least, one of us will certainly fall here. I just used a secret technique to probe the area — this abyss appears to be shrouded by some other kind of power. Your Phoenix Spirit Disc won't work here at all. I've also secretly tried several other escape techniques, but none of them seem capable of tearing through the void to get us out." Han Li sighed and turned to speak to Bao.
The Mother Moth listened to Han Li and Daoist Xie's conversation with a few contemptuous snorts of cold laughter. She simply stood in place, her two human-shaped hands vigorously rubbing the two Earth Emperor Nails, gradually dimming their surface glow. She paid no attention whatsoever to their words, entirely focused on subduing the two Profound Heaven Treasures in her grasp.
"I understand. If that's how it is, then we have no choice but to go all out. I do have a way to give you one more boost, but I'll need Brother Xie's assistance, and once it's activated, neither of us will be able to help you in the slightest." Bao hesitated for a moment before gritting her teeth and speaking.
"Haha, that's more than enough. Stop wasting words and let's move. Are we really going to wait until she's subdued both of your treasures before we act?" A peculiar look surfaced on Han Li's face, and he spoke in a flat, detached tone.
"Fine. Brother Xie, lend me all of your Magical Power." Bao was an exceptionally decisive woman. A flush of crimson passed over her face, and she called out a sharp command to Daoist Xie.
Daoist Xie had already received Han Li's telepathic instructions, so upon hearing her words, he formed a single-handed seal without the slightest hesitation. His body flickered, and in an uncanny movement he appeared directly behind Bao.
A peal of thunder erupted from his body, and countless thick bolts of silver lightning coiled around him as they materialized. At the same time, his two palms blurred and pressed firmly onto Bao's shoulders.
A thunderous roar erupted!
The lightning radiating from Daoist Xie transformed into countless silver serpents that surged wildly into Bao's body.
Bao felt a sudden heat at both shoulders as two torrents of vast spiritual power flooded in like a rising tide. The Magical Power within her body, which had been nearly completely depleted, suddenly surged back to fullness.
Even her own pallid complexion flushed with rosy color in an instant.
Bao naturally knew that this externally transferred Magical Power wouldn't remain within her body for long — in just a short while, it would seep out through her pores and dissipate into the void.
But even this brief window of time would be enough to deploy a killer move she had never even intended to use.
However, the price of using this technique was severe — not only would her cultivation base become unstable once more, very likely plummeting back below the Mahayana stage, but she would also deeply offend the true owner of those Earth Emperor Nails.
The great favor she had painstakingly built with that person over the years might be completely and utterly squandered because of this.
Thinking this, Bao couldn't help but sigh inwardly once more.
Who could have imagined that this Mother Moth would truly be so terrifying — that she had actually mastered the supreme divine abilities of an upper-realm immortal.
No — based on her dealings with this Mother Moth, whether the being before her was still the same original culprit who had destroyed multiple worlds had already become an uncertain matter.
