Thirteen Purple-Veined Spirit Insects let out a shrill cry and immediately lunged at the two glazed puppets.

But the puppets shook all four arms violently and simultaneously shot backward.

Not only that, the four freed hands of the two puppets swept toward the spirit insects in unison, releasing a sheet of silver lightning arcs and a surge of yellow radiance.

The silver arcs interwove and crackled, unleashing astonishing booms that seemed to contain tremendous power.

The yellow radiance, however, was silent and unassuming, flowing like mist and water.

The Purple-Veined Spirit Insects showed no intention of dodging this attack. With a beat of their wings, they split into two groups and plunged directly into the arcs and the radiance.

The silver arcs instantly erupted with deafening thunder, shattering inch by inch. Amid the flashing lightning, even the surrounding void seemed to carry a faint scorching heat.

Inside the yellow radiance, dense and mysterious runes materialized, instantly enveloping the spirit insects within and blazing brilliantly. This radiance too seemed to possess some mysterious power.

But these thirteen Purple-Veined Spirit Insects were candidate insect kings that Han Li had obtained from having tens of thousands of Gold Devouring Beetles devour each other. Their physical toughness and various supernatural abilities far exceeded what ordinary beings could imagine.

Whether struck relentlessly by lightning or tightly bound by the runes within the yellow radiance, the spirit insects paid no heed to these attacks. After their purple veins pulsed and swelled, they mysteriously pierced through the lightning and the radiance. With another flash of purple light, they vanished and reappeared before the two puppets in the blink of an eye, baring their fangs as they lunged viciously.

The two glazed puppets naturally possessed no ordinary living creature's emotions, nor any sense of fear. The glazed spiritual light simply circulated over their bodies—one suddenly produced two extraordinarily thin, narrow transparent blades, while the other produced a seven-colored spear two zhang long.

With a slight flourish of these three weapons, countless blade projections and points of spear light filled the sky, sweeping all thirteen spirit insects into their midst.

Amid a clattering of strikes, although the Purple-Veined Spirit Insects sustained no damage, they were temporarily unable to close in on the two puppets.

At this moment, Han Li in the distance happened to glance over. Seeing this, his expression darkened. The giant ape he had transformed into let out a long roar, and the Yuan Magnetic Extreme Mountain, which had been knocked high into the air, instantly vanished.

The next moment, fluctuations rippled above the two puppets, and the black mountain peak materialized eerily, spinning rapidly as a hazy gray radiance swept downward.

The two puppets showed no fear. Their weapons never ceased as they tilted their heads upward and spewed beams of light from their mouths.

With two muffled pops, two seven-colored light pillars shot upward and collided with the gray radiance.

The two forces intertwined and simultaneously detonated, various colors of radiance locked in a stalemate in midair.

But just then, behind the giant ape in the distance, a thunderous boom sounded as a pair of crystalline lightning wings materialized. With a flash, the massive body transformed into a bolt of lightning and vanished.

Almost simultaneously, fluctuations rippled behind the two glazed puppets, and the giant ape materialized amid a web of countless lightning arcs, its arms moving in a slight blur.

Two thunderous booms rang out!

The seven-colored glow across the chests of the two puppets flickered as two fur-covered fists, terrifyingly cold, burst through from behind, radiating an unusual golden light.

The giant ape had used inconceivable speed to drive both fists directly through the bodies of the two puppets.

Though these puppets possessed the strength of early-stage Body Integration cultivators, they had no other cultivator truly controlling them with divine sense, nor had they developed any spiritual intelligence. Facing Han Li after his transformation, and with their relied-upon seven-colored light barrier shattered, their reactions proved utterly inadequate.

But puppets were puppets. Had ordinary living creatures sustained such devastating wounds, they would have lost the ability to fight. Yet the two glazed puppets merely trembled slightly and did not truly lose their capacity for action. Their three weapons suddenly swept backward, and a sky full of light instantly enveloped the giant ape behind them.

Seeing this, the giant ape's eyes flashed with cold light. Its two fists gave a muffled boom, and two streams of silver flame erupted from within, engulfing the glazed puppets.

It was precisely the all-conquering Spirit-Consuming Heavenly Flame!

Simultaneously, the giant ape's body shot backward like an arrow, easily breaking free of the two puppets' attack.

But something that stunned Han Li occurred!

Even though the silver flames burned fiercely, the two puppets showed no sign of melting whatsoever. Their smooth, crystalline bodies, aside from some charred marks, underwent no other changes.

Naturally, Han Li was greatly astonished!

But even so, he would not need to act further.

Although these puppets could still counterattack, their movements were clearly much slower than before. With a sharp shriek from the thirteen Purple-Veined Spirit Insects, they pounced directly onto the puppets and began devouring them in great bites.

The two puppets unleashed every ability at their disposal, but the thirteen spirit insects seemed rooted to their surfaces, utterly impossible to shake off.

Despite the fact that these glazed puppets could withstand even the Spirit-Consuming Heavenly Flame, they appeared utterly helpless against the devouring of the Purple-Veined Spirit Insects. After a brief while, they squeaked twice, toppled over, and could only roll endlessly on the ground.
