Chapter 1785: Hundred Races of the Spirit Realm — 1696: Securing the Mountain

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,090 words

Silver runes materialized on the mountain's surface, swiftly orbiting the black peak and forming several black holes roughly ten feet in diameter.

From within, hazy gray light swirled outward, and massive sucking forces manifested out of thin air.

The nearby yellow sand grains, caught in the gray light, spun uncontrollably before reverting to their original forms and surging into the black holes.

A vast area of nearby sand was instantly cleared away.

The massive token's surface flickered with ancient characters before it shuddered, and a thick beam of gray light shot out from its peak.

With a flash of light, the token serving as the hilt and the Profound Magnetic Divine Light as the blade, a massive gray light sword roughly seven or eight zhang long materialized.

The sword's edge swept through the air, causing the nearby void to warp and tremble as the surrounding giant sand grains shattered and dispersed one after another.

The power of this light sword was truly formidable!

Though the yellow sand grains numbered in the millions, under the combined might of these two extraordinary treasures, more than half were swept away by the Profound Magnetic Extreme Mountain, while the rest were shattered to nothing by the light sword.

The tenth layer of restriction was finally broken through by force, and the final layer of restriction revealed itself.

A massive scroll composed of a cyan light barrier rose into view from below.

Within the scroll, green mountains stood lush and verdant, with countless spirit birds circling among them, large and small ones overlapping as if stretching on endlessly.

At the same time, the tallest cyan mountain peak within the scroll flashed with light, and clusters of spirit light burst open across the entire scroll.

Multicolored bird silhouettes within the blue light came alive — some spreading their wings, others craning their necks in long calls — all rushing out from the scroll one after another.

Some of these spirit birds opened their mouths and spat out masses of crimson fireballs. Others flapped their wings, sending white wind blades shooting forth. Still others produced thunderous rumbles from their claws as arcs of silver lightning sprang from their talons.

Dense attacks poured forth from below like a dam bursting, surging out in an overwhelming tide.

Beyond that, the light flickering from the cyan mountain peak transformed into invisible phantom rays that shot toward the black mountain and gray light sword ahead of everything else.

The Taiyi Blue Light here was far more numerous than in the previous layers of restriction. When the Profound Magnetic Extreme Mountain and the light sword were struck by these phantom rays, their gray glow dimmed noticeably, as if they were being suppressed in turn.

"Taiyi Blue Mountain!"

Han Li was delighted rather than alarmed. Without needing any assessment, he immediately knew that the flickering mountain peak within the scroll was the very thing he had been dreaming of.

However, this mountain had clearly been used as a primary material and refined into a part of the scroll. Leveraging the amplification power of the entire scroll, its might far exceeded expectations.

As he pondered this, the gray light sword, upon Shi Kun's mighty shout, blazed with renewed radiance and slashed downward.

Wherever the sword's edge passed, attacks like fireballs and wind blades melted away like snow and ice, and the blade struck directly into the flock of birds emerging from the scroll.

With a flash of sword light, hundreds of bird silhouettes were instantly cut down and annihilated.

But even more bird silhouettes moved, transforming into masses of five-colored light flames that hurtled madly toward the light sword.

Thunderous booms rang out in succession. The first clusters of light were forcefully repelled by the sword's edge, but when even more five-colored light flames engulfed it, the massive light sword finally could no longer withstand the assault. Its glow contracted, reverting to its token form, and with a mournful wail it was swept up by the flames and plunged downward into the scroll.

The remaining five-colored light flames, their momentum surging, continued rolling toward the mountain peak suspended in the air.

Han Li's heart tightened. Without time to think, he formed a hand seal with one hand and pointed gravely at the Profound Magnetic Extreme Mountain below.

A deep, bell-like rumble emanated from the mountain as its size surged wildly once more within the gray light.

In just a few moments, it transformed into a colossal form hundreds of zhang tall, its surface brimming with countless silver runes, and it crashed downward carrying waves of gray light.

While the previous gray giant sword had been astonishingly powerful and exceptionally sharp, in terms of pure Profound Magnetic Divine Light it simply could not compare to the massively enlarged Profound Magnetic Extreme Mountain.

The five-colored light flames surging from below, under the crushing pressure of the mountain descending like Mount Tai itself, were extinguished by the gray light waves before even touching the mountain, dissolving into nothingness.

The colossal mountain continued its menacing descent, about to crash onto the scroll.

Just then, the cyan mountain peak in the scroll let out a long cry. Everything else depicted in the scroll — spirit birds, grass, insects, trees — suddenly transformed into pale cyan spirit light that surged into the mountain.

In the blink of an eye, the mountain became vividly green throughout, slowly emerging from the scroll. With a full-body tremor, it released cyan light that condensed into strand after strand of jade-green threads.

The Taiyi Blue Light, energized by this mountain, finally materialized directly in the void. Interweaving and flashing, it formed layer upon layer of green nets that shot into the sky.

The gray light waves and the green nets collided in an instant, producing an eerie screeching sound like metal grinding against metal. Both mountains trembled violently, locked in a stalemate in the void.

Seeing this, Han Li narrowed his eyes. Spiritual power circulated rapidly through his body as he prepared to pour it furiously into the Profound Magnetic Extreme Mountain, boosting its power enormously.

But just then, peals of thunder suddenly rang out from high above, and bolts of gray lightning as thick as bowls' mouths rained down savagely from the sky, striking viciously upon the green net.

The giant net formed by the Taiyi Blue Light was struck so hard that its glow flickered wildly.

Han Li's heart lifted with joy. A quick glance confirmed it — those bolts of gray lightning were descending from the banner flag positioned before Liu Shui'er.
