A surge of brilliant blue flame suddenly erupted from the octagonal black hammer, radiating an eerie chill.
Though he didn't know exactly what kind of power this flame possessed, it was immediately apparent that it was no ordinary demonic fire.
Yet the moment the Void Heaven Cauldron's green threads lashed out and wrapped around it, the hammer was utterly restrained, trapped in midair before it could display even a fraction of its might. No matter how ferociously the blue flame blazed, the green threads remained completely unscathed, seemingly impervious to the fire.
"Saint Demons?"
Several peals of thunder erupted without warning. Four enormous golden arcs as thick as an infant's arm shot out from his sleeve, and in a flash they struck the four beams of black light with pinpoint accuracy.
With a series of thunderous booms, four blinding bursts of golden light exploded outward, swallowing the black light within them in an instant. These demonic phantoms, conjured from dark energy, seemed to have met their nemesis — under the golden radiance, they melted away like snow in spring, dissolving with astonishing speed.
It hadn't cost
At the exact same moment, the green-robed figure behind
A deafening roar immediately filled the air. Amid blinding red light, countless fire arrows pierced through the sky, blanketing the demonic beast before them in a storm of flame.
By now, the barbed demon had just barely stabilized its form. Seeing the sky darkened by incoming fire arrows, it showed not a shred of fear. It let out a great roar, and the bony spikes covering its body simultaneously shimmered with a faint blood-colored glow. The crimson light then blazed forth, instantly fusing into a layer of blood-red barrier that shielded its entire body.
And the very instant the demon finished erecting its defense, the dense volley of fire arrows struck the blood-red barrier.
Countless fire arrows detonated against the barrier in rapid succession. Crimson flames engulfed the demon entirely, and the sounds of explosions merged into a continuous, awe-inspiring roar.
Yet the demon, ensconced within its blood barrier, remained perfectly unharmed. It drew a deep breath, swept its silver arm outward, and attempted to forcibly part the crimson flames surrounding its shield.
But at that very moment, a faint crackle of thunder came from the opposite side!
Startled, the demon realized that at some unknown point, a jade-green arrow threaded with wisps of golden lightning had arrived before its eyes without warning.
Though it had no idea what was peculiar about this arrow, the demon swayed without hesitation, moving to dodge to one side.
What it failed to notice was that at the very instant the jade-green arrow reached its front, a glossy black flying blade silently materialized from the void above its head. It then drifted sideways in absolute silence, landing precisely on the demon's skull as it shifted to evade.
The demon had sensed nothing at all.
The result was swift. The green-robed figure paused its fire bow, and the sky full of flame arrows dissipated as though they had never existed — the relentless barrage ceased in a single heartbeat.
The hedgehog-like demon had just sidestepped the jade-green arrow and was still puzzling over what had happened when a streak of black light silently circled its neck like lightning. Its triangular head tumbled to the ground.
The blood-red barrier had failed to withstand the black light by even the slightest degree.
This was hardly surprising. This Demon Marrow flying blade had been forged from a Demon Marrow core, which itself was condensed from countless ages' worth of pure demonic qi compressed to its essence. How could a barrier born of the same demonic energy hope to obstruct it?
To this demon blade, the blood-red barrier might as well not have existed.
The humanoid puppet, guided by
Its mouth opened, and a beam of black radiance swept forth, rolling over the remains in a single pass.
From within, it forcibly extracted a shadowy apparition — the very demonic phantom that had plunged into the body earlier.
But the phantom was now extraordinarily faint, seemingly on the verge of dissipating at any moment. As the black radiance, formed from extreme Yin demonic qi, washed over it, the humanoid puppet directly inhaled it and stored it within the second Nascent Soul hidden inside.
Such pure demonic qi was a not-insignificant supplement to a second Nascent Soul that cultivated the Extreme Yin Great Art.
Once the phantom had been drawn away, the headless demon corpse was struck by a gentle gust of wind — and crumbled into ash, vanishing without a trace.
The humanoid puppet then flickered and returned to
From a distance, aside from the difference in attire, it was clearly two Han Lis standing shoulder to shoulder.
And the real
"I've now seen Brother Six Dao's Six Extremes True Devil Arts for myself. I wonder if you have any other secret techniques or cultivation methods to broaden my horizons? If not, then I'll be sending you on your way."
In the distance, Six Dao Supreme's face had turned a faint shade of green, his eyes filled with an expression of utter disbelief.
