Within that yellowish-green sphere of light was unmistakably a bead the size of a fist.
The bead was milky yellow in color, and as it shot toward him, it carried a faint rumbling of thunder — clearly some extraordinary treasure at first glance.
But Han Li showed no intention of halting his giant sword. Instead, he surged his sword seals, causing the golden light of the great blade to flare up by several feet before cleaving downward amid a thunderous roar.
At that very moment, several remarkably dense pillars of milky white light flickered and arrived before Han Li in the blink of an eye.
Han Li drew a shallow breath and spat out a mass of purple flame. The moment this wisp of Purple Extreme Fire left his mouth, it billowed violently in the wind with a soft whoosh, transforming in an instant into a colossal fireball the size of a wagon wheel.
With a muffled boom, the purple fireball split apart and scattered in every direction, dividing into several smaller balls of purple flame that hurtled toward the milky white pillars of light.
A deafening rumble erupted as the pillars of light collided head-on with the purple flame without the slightest hesitation.
Purple radiance and white light flashed wildly as the two extreme colds exploded across the entire space. Countless crystalline sparks materialized in the void, and waves of two-colored frigid energy spread through the chamber in the blink of an eye.
Meanwhile, with an earth-shattering boom, the golden giant sword had already struck the milky yellow bead squarely.
The collision between the two produced an entirely different spectacle.
Golden and cyan-colored arcs of lightning erupted simultaneously around both the great sword and the spherical bead. The two interwove and flickered, instantly forming an enormous ball of lightning over a hundred feet in diameter. The blinding radiance of the electric light was accompanied by deafening thunder.
This bead was actually a rare lightning-attribute ancient treasure.
Han Li paid no heed to the frigid energy surging toward him. With a single wave of his hand, a layer of purple flame appeared around his body. The moment the icy cold drew near, it dissolved into nothingness on its own. But the appearance of that enormous sphere of lightning did genuinely surprise him.
What manner of lightning was this? It seemed to have quite a pedigree — it was actually able to withstand the might of his Evil-Slaying Divine Lightning.
Han Li did not push his giant sword any further. Instead, he extended a finger toward the Void Heaven Cauldron before him. With a pop, a bundle of blue threads shot out, instantly lashing toward the sphere, apparently attempting to forcibly seize the bead and claim it as his own.
The blue-robed middle-aged man beyond the restrictions saw this and his heart jolted. Forgoing any further attempt to conserve his Magical Power, he rapidly formed several spell seals, pouring every last ounce of his spiritual energy into the bead.
This lightning bead was an extraordinary treasure he had obtained in years past. Although he had never fully unraveled its mysteries, its power was already astonishing — he could never bear to part with it.
Immediately, the two-colored sphere of lightning, which had been evenly matched, surged with brilliant cyan light under the middle-aged man's frenzied manipulation. It seemed on the verge of overwhelming and driving back the golden arcs.
But Han Li's expression darkened.
His giant sword was condensed from more than a dozen flying swords, and the Evil-Slaying Divine Lightning contained within it was naturally far beyond what this single bead's cyan lightning could match. With nothing more than a flicker of thought, the giant sword shuddered, and several arcs of lightning as thick as bowl mouths materialized along its blade. They then transformed into several enormous golden serpents that lunged downward toward the sphere of lightning with menacing ferocity.
The cyan arcs, which had just surged in power, were no match against the combined assault of these golden serpents. In a flash of lightning and thunder, every last cyan arc was torn to shreds, and the milky yellow bead was laid bare.
At that precise moment, the blue threads from the Void Heaven Cauldron arrived as though timed to perfection. With a single binding motion, they snatched the bead in a flash and streaked back.
In the distance, the blue-robed middle-aged man grew frantic. His face twisted with anxiety as his hands continued forming seals without pause, and within the blue threads, the spherical bead struggled and shook violently, as though desperate to break free.
Beside him, Bai Mengxin furrowed her delicate brows. Without a word, she tapped the mirror in her hand with a slender finger and tossed it into the air.
A cold moon rose above the woman's head, its reflective surface a vast expanse of white.
Bai Mengxin then opened her mouth and spat out a mass of extraordinarily pure white breath, which struck the mirror's surface.
From within the mirror came a hissing sound like a serpent's cry, followed by a flash of green light as something burst forth. But it moved far too swiftly for anyone to discern its form.
Han Li, who was currently commanding the Void Heaven Cauldron to retrieve the bead, abruptly twisted his head around. His pupils blazed with brilliant blue light as several streaks of golden radiance from the orbiting sword-light around him shot outward in rapid succession.
Every single one was aimed in the same direction!
A deafening boom rang out as several beams of golden light detonated a hundred feet before him, apparently striking something.
Han Li paid them no further mind. He swept his sleeve swiftly, forcibly grabbing the bead still wrapped in blue threads and tucking it into his storage pouch before narrowing his eyes to stare at where the golden light had erupted.
As the golden radiance subsided on the other side, several golden flying swords could vaguely be seen revolving around and battling furiously with a peculiar-looking spirit insect.
The insect resembled a massive scorpion, but it bore two tails and four wings upon its back. The pattern on its carapace was strikingly reminiscent of a human face — a sight that would send chills down anyone's spine!
