Chapter 898: Flying Sky Shuttle

Whoosh whoosh whoosh…

The sound of tearing through the air set his eardrums trembling. The long shuttle seemed to break through the constraints of space itself, constantly shifting its position.

After several attempts, Yang Kai's eyes gradually brightened. He felt he had grasped the secret of this artifact.

He beckoned, and the shuttle returned to his hand once more.

Yang Kai examined it carefully again.

His divine sense drifted through the shuttle's interior, observing its structure without missing a single detail.

Though the shuttle was small, once his divine sense entered it, it was as if he had stepped into a vast and boundless space. No matter how he probed, he could not see the end.

Suddenly, a wisp of ethereal, traceless information flowed from within the shuttle into Yang Kai's consciousness.

Flying Sky Shuttle…

That seemed to be this artifact's name. Judging by the name alone, it matched what Yang Kai had sensed earlier — the shuttle's purpose was flight.

In other words, it was a specialized flight artifact.

Artifacts came in many varieties, classified differently depending on the system of categorization. By function, artifacts were mainly divided into three types — offensive, defensive, and supportive. Of course, there were also those that served both offense and defense; the silver leaf Yang Kai possessed was one such artifact.

By the type of power that drove them, artifacts could also be divided into True Yuan-driven artifacts and Divine Soul artifacts.

The latter were generally far more valuable than the former, and much more difficult to refine.

Among artifacts, there was a special category — those designed specifically for flight. Using a flight artifact, one could generally travel much faster than a warrior flying under their own power.

Yang Kai had seen many flight artifacts in various shapes — sword-shaped, ruler-shaped, sedan-chair-shaped, and so on.

But a shuttle shape was a first.

At first glance, it looked something like a dugout canoe.

Inside the Flying Sky Shuttle, there was not the slightest trace of a killing formation, which meant it could not be used for offense. It likely possessed a defensive spirit formation, though he had no idea how strong its defense was.

His divine sense continued probing deeper.

Suddenly, Yang Kai discovered something peculiar.

Inside the shuttle, pinpricks of light flickered. With his divine sense placed there, it was as though he stood in the middle of a starry sky. Stars dotted every direction, stretching to an endless horizon.

These lights within the shuttle resembled a miniature starry sky, shrunken countless times over and placed inside the artifact.

Among them was a spirit line so thin it was nearly imperceptible, connecting numerous flickering points of light. It extended far into the distance.

Yang Kai furrowed his brow, unsure of its purpose.

He followed the spirit line with his divine sense, and the more he explored, the more it struck him that what was stored inside the Flying Sky Shuttle was essentially a starry sky, shrunk down countless times.

Unfortunately, the spirit line was broken at one point — likely because the artifact had drifted through the void for so long that most of its spiritual nature had been lost. He had no idea where it would have ultimately connected.

Shaking his head, Yang Kai withdrew his divine sense once he was satisfied there was nothing else of note inside the shuttle.

Though the artifact had lost most of its spiritual nature, after such a long period of nurturing, it could still perform its most basic functions.

Driven by curiosity, Yang Kai stepped out of the Holy Lord's Manor.

He channeled True Yuan into the shuttle, and it instantly expanded, growing to several zhang in length in the blink of an eye, hovering quietly before him.

A pleased look crossed Yang Kai's face — just as he'd expected.

Since a flight artifact was meant to carry people, it couldn't remain palm-sized. He wondered who had refined this artifact and what wondrous formations had been imbued into it, allowing it to change size so freely.

Several zhang appeared to be its limit. Visually estimating, Yang Kai figured the shuttle could carry seven or eight people without issue.

With a thought from his divine sense, the shuttle shrank again to about two chi in length. A hazy green glow emanated from within, forming a protective barrier.

Yang Kai leaped aboard. The green light enveloped him perfectly, leaving no gaps whatsoever — as if tailor-made.

Heart swelling with excitement, he drove his True Yuan even more fiercely.

A flash of green light flickered where he stood, and in the next instant, Yang Kai and the Flying Sky Shuttle had vanished.

On one of the nine peaks, the commanders of the Ancient Demon Clan were each meditating and cultivating. Over this stretch of time, Yang Kai had no particular business with them, and after receiving a generous share of cultivation resources from Xu Hui, the commanders had been unreservedly working to improve their own strength.

Without warning, Li Rong's delicate brows furrowed. She snapped out of her meditation, her graceful figure flickering as she appeared outside, gazing intently toward a certain spot in the sky. A hint of puzzlement crossed her lovely face.

Moments later, Han Fei and Hua Mo appeared beside her.

"Is that the Master's aura?" Han Fei was also looking toward that stretch of sky, asking softly.

"Yes. The Master has gone out," Li Rong nodded slightly. "But this speed… it's incredible."

As she spoke, her expression shifted. "I've already lost track of him."

As a powerhouse at the second layer of the Transcendence Realm, Li Rong's divine sense covered an area of several hundred li or more. From the moment she had sensed Yang Kai's departure to now, barely three breaths had passed — and in that short span, he had already exceeded the limits of her divine sense.

Such speed was nothing short of terrifying. No one in the current world could possess such extraordinary velocity.

"What would the Master be doing out at this hour?" Hua Mo asked, looking perplexed.
