In the starry sky, countless meteorites drifted through the void. No one knew where they came from or where they were headed. It seemed as though they had been wandering through the cosmos since time immemorial, waiting to be discovered.
Yang Kai even suspected that the Tongxuan Continent itself was nothing more than an impossibly vast meteorite.
He and Li Rong searched the starry sky for an hour or two and found several meteorites of varying sizes.
The small ones were the size of washbasins; the large ones rivaled mountains.
After shattering those meteorites, Yang Kai actually harvested a fair number of rare minerals, though not in large quantities and not of particularly high grade.
His primary reason for coming to the starry sky had been to verify whether the information in Zhang Ao's memories contained any errors.
But since he had already arrived, he naturally couldn't leave empty-handed.
It just so happened that his mineral reserves inside the Black Book's space had been completely depleted, so this was the perfect opportunity to restock.
Yang Kai was very curious to see what kind of changes those two pitch-black round stones would undergo after absorbing enough mineral essence.
"Master, it looks like a huge meteorite is flying toward us from over there!" Li Rong's Divine Sense picked up some movement, and she pointed into the distance.
"Let's go check it out!" Yang Kai immediately flew in that direction.
Before long, a house-sized meteorite was hurtling straight toward them, its surface pitted and cratered from eons of erosion, looking as though it could barely hold itself together.
Li Rong surged forward. Before the meteorite could draw near, she struck it with a single palm.
Terrifying power erupted from her slender hand, and the massive meteorite shattered into countless fragments that scattered in every direction.
Yang Kai's sharp eyes instantly locked onto a particularly distinctive dark-red chunk. He darted forward and intercepted it. After a brief inspection, he stuffed it contentedly into the Black Book's space, placing it beside those two pitch-black round stones.
Inside meteorites, there were often rare minerals to be found. These minerals were incredibly hard and nearly impossible to break.
So shattering the meteorites to search for them was undoubtedly the fastest and most convenient approach.
Li Rong collected one or two pieces as well and flew over to hand them to Yang Kai.
"Master, are you collecting these to forge Artifacts?" Li Rong asked with a smile.
The minerals gathered from the starry sky—though most of them had no names he could recall—at the very least were all Spirit grade, and many were even Saint grade materials.
Artifacts forged from such materials would naturally be of impressive quality.
Seeing Yang Kai so diligently gathering minerals, Li Rong naturally assumed he intended to forge Artifacts.
"Something like that," Yang Kai replied without bothering to explain. Just as he was observing his surroundings, his expression shifted, and he let out a soft murmur as he glanced to the side.
The light of the stars flickered, and several dozen li away, a dense cluster of tiny dark specks was rapidly streaming past.
"A meteorite sea?" After watching for a moment, Yang Kai was overjoyed. He called out to Li Rong and immediately flew toward it.
Before long, a breathtaking sight filled their vision—a vast expanse of meteorites gathered together, stretching like an enormous river across the boundless starry sky.
The meteorite sea contained countless meteorites of all sizes. The spectacle was truly magnificent.
They swept through the starry sky in perfect silence, an eerie and uncanny phenomenon.
"So many meteorites?" Li Rong stared at the scene in astonishment.
Yang Kai laughed. "Now we won't have to search around!"
With that, he plunged into the meteorite sea. Li Rong pressed her lips together in a smile and hurried after him.
Both of them unleashed the power within their bodies and set about demolishing meteorites with abandon. Strangely enough, sound did not seem to travel through the starry sky. Their communication relied entirely on Divine Sense, and even when they shattered meteorites, the exploding fragments produced no noise whatsoever.
One mineral after another—large and small—was collected into the Black Book's space. These were treasures that would be exceedingly rare to find on the Tongxuan Continent.
If any Artifact Refiner saw this scene, they would surely go mad on the spot.
A talented Artifact Refiner would sometimes traverse thousands of mountains and rivers in search of rare minerals, and even then would be hard-pressed to obtain satisfactory materials.
Yet here in the starry sky, there lay a virtually inexhaustible supply of minerals, ripe for the taking.
This staggering fortune was now accessible to Yang Kai alone.
Li Rong seemed to have been infected by Yang Kai's excitement as well. A smile remained on her lovely face as she worked tirelessly.
Most of the meteorites contained nothing—when shattered, they merely burst into clouds of rubble. But the meteorite sea held so many meteorites that even with tiny odds, after several hours Yang Kai and Li Rong had amassed enormous quantities.
The two of them wove through the dense field of meteorites at a leisurely pace.
Gradually, the seemingly endless meteorite sea seemed to reach its end, about to slip past their field of vision.
"That should be enough," Yang Kai said, preparing to call it quits.
