Two chapters today.

"That's only natural." Li Rong nodded firmly. "We wouldn't be so bored."
"Who cares." Han Fei pouted.
Hua Mo chuckled as well. "I have no such vulgar interest."
"Then come in," Yang Kai said, nodding. He closed his eyes, sinking his divine consciousness into his Sea of Consciousness, transforming into a soul spirit body and lowering the Sea's defenses.
An instant later, he felt three streams of energy surge into his Sea of Consciousness. Moments after, the soul spirit bodies of the three great commanders of the Ancient Demon Clan materialized before him.
Inside the stone chamber, everyone went still. Wan'er stood to the side, lips pursed, her heart itching like a cat scratching at it. She looked from one motionless figure to the next, then couldn't help but shake her fist toward Yang Kai and let out a soft huff.
She knew perfectly well that the three commanders had to be discussing matters of the utmost secrecy with this human. With her status, she had no right to intervene. Naturally, she wouldn't dare barge into Yang Kai's Sea of Consciousness. All she could do was sit outside and wait.
Within the Sea of Consciousness, a scorching aura enveloped everything.
Whether it was Li Rong, Han Fei, or Hua Mo, all three instinctively unleashed the power of their divine senses to resist the oppressive heat, their brows furrowed.
The Ancient Demon Clan loathed this kind of aura above all else.
But Li Rong was more surprised than anything. The last time she had visited, the fires of Yang Kai's divine sense had been nowhere near as powerful as they were now. Yet at this moment, the searing heat here actually exerted some pressure on her.
She understood that after devouring those dozen-odd clusters of other people's divine sense fires, Yang Kai's own divine sense must have made tremendous progress.
"Could you clear out a space for us so we can talk in peace?" Li Rong suggested.
Yang Kai considered for a moment. He understood what they were wary of and pointed into the distance. "Go over there — there are no fires of divine sense in that area."
Following the direction of his finger, the three caught sight of the five-colored treasure island rising from the sea of flame.
Their eyes lit up, and they followed Yang Kai as he flew to the island.
The instant their soul spirit bodies set foot on the five-colored treasure island, the three great commanders of the Ancient Demon Clan all felt a jolt run through them.
"Why can my divine sense absorb power inside your Sea of Consciousness?" Han Fei stared at Yang Kai in astonishment.
"So can I." Hua Mo turned to look at him with equal shock.
"What is this five-colored treasure island?" Li Rong asked with keen interest, a smile playing on her lips. She had already sensed that the reason the three of them could absorb divine sense power inside Yang Kai's Sea of Consciousness was entirely because of this island.
"I didn't come here to talk about that," Yang Kai replied, his expression indifferent. He had no intention of satisfying their curiosity.
The five-colored Soul-Nurturing Lotus nourished the soul at every moment. The three of them had stepped onto its grounds, so naturally they would reap some small benefits — though those benefits were negligible.
But Yang Kai, as the master of the five-colored Soul-Nurturing Lotus, was a different story. Over months and years, even those minuscule increments of power would accumulate into a quantity that would make anyone envious.
"I spoke out of turn," Li Rong said, giving a slight nod. "Though I've noticed you carry quite a few remarkable things on you."
"Every man has his secrets," Yang Kai said flatly. "It's about time you let me in on the truth, isn't it? I'm very curious about your attitude toward me. I imagine Commander Hua Mo and Commander Han Fei feel the same."
At his words, Hua Mo and Han Fei immediately turned their gaze toward Li Rong.
Li Rong pressed her lips into a gentle smile and extended one slender, jade-like hand, pointing toward the sky. "Look over there."
Following her gesture, Hua Mo and Han Fei focused their attention upward.
Suspended in the sky was a single, closed eye. The instant they laid eyes on it, both Hua Mo and Han Fei were overwhelmed by an involuntary surge of dread, submission, and the urge to prostrate themselves in worship.
For reasons they couldn't explain, their soul spirit bodies began to tremble.
"Could you open it, the way you did last time?" Li Rong turned to Yang Kai and asked.
Yang Kai gave a faint nod and sent out his will.
The tightly shut solitary eye slowly opened. Its narrow, majestic golden iris came into view, carrying the gaze of a supreme being perched high above, staring down at all below with cold indifference.
Under that gaze, anyone — no matter who — would feel an overwhelming sense of insignificance, as though a single glance from that eye could reduce them to dust, erasing them from the heavens and the earth.
