Perhaps because Yang Kai had asked too many questions, Wan'er no longer felt like giving him a tour. She hurriedly led him back to the stone chamber, dumped him there, and vanished.
Recalling what had happened the instant he saw that Great Demon God statue, Yang Kai shook his head, his face filled with confusion.
He didn't know whether it had been a hallucination or something else. Without any way to investigate further, he could only set the matter aside.
Two days later, while meditating, Yang Kai detected strange energy fluctuations nearby. He quickly opened his eyes and was startled to find that Li Rong had arrived together with that cold, beautiful woman—Han Fei.
Yang Kai furrowed his brow, wondering why Han Fei had shown up as well. "Where is the thing?" he asked.
Li Rong shook her head. "We don't have it on hand. If you need it, you'll have to go and retrieve it yourself."
"Retrieve it myself?" Yang Kai was taken aback.
"Mhm. That's also the reason I asked you to wait two days. Commander Han Fei will escort you there."
Han Fei's territory was on the other side of the Demon God Castle. Li Rong had clearly sent word for her to come over, which accounted for the two-day delay.
Yang Kai glanced at the cold, beautiful woman and gave a slight nod, wisely not asking too many questions.
"If you're ready, we'll set out now." Han Fei wasted no words, looking at Yang Kai as she spoke.
"Nothing to prepare."
"Then let's go." Han Fei turned and headed outside.
"Be careful on the road," Li Rong reminded him.
Yang Kai gave a light wave of his hand and followed Han Fei out.
Once they were outside the stone chamber, Han Fei's graceful body shot upward, transforming into a streak of light that vanished. Yang Kai sniffed the air and stood in place, unmoving.
Li Rong studied him curiously, suspicion written all over her beautiful face.
After a long wait, Yang Kai still hadn't moved. Han Fei couldn't help flying back, her brow furrowed in displeasure. "What are you doing? Why didn't you follow?"
"I already told you—I don't have much Zhenyuan to spare. Flying all the way there would waste a huge amount of Zhenyuan," Yang Kai said with an expression of pure helplessness.
"Then what do you suggest?" Han Fei's delicate brows furrowed.
"Carry me there." Yang Kai said this with perfect seriousness. Han Fei's expression darkened with anger. "You've got quite the nerve—actually asking me to carry you?"
"I'm not trying to take advantage of you or pull rank. It's simply the most practical choice," Yang Kai replied gravely.
Li Rong frowned slightly and gave Han Fei a subtle nod.
Han Fei gritted her teeth and, without another word, swept her hand to release a stream of energy that enveloped Yang Kai. Then, carrying him, she shot off into the distance at tremendous speed.
The journey passed in silence. Han Fei was cold by nature and spoke little. Yang Kai knew that such a woman wouldn't warm to strangers, so he had no intention of forcing conversation. While being carried through the air, he simply closed his eyes and rested.
But his sharp senses told him that Han Fei seemed interested in him as well. Extremely subtle waves of Divine Sense continuously swept over his body, as if trying to probe something—though she had yet to succeed.
The world inside the Minor Mystic Realm was vastly different from the outside. There was no distinction between sun and moon, day and night blurred together, and the vast, barren land seemed devoid of vegetation, with hardly any trace of life.
Occasionally, though, he could spot a few demon beasts.
They flew on in silence for an unknown distance. Gradually, a trace of scorching heat began to permeate the air. Sensing this, Yang Kai's spirits rose immediately!
That searing heat was exactly the Yang-attribute energy he craved.
Moreover, as time passed, the Yang-attribute energy in the air grew denser and more concentrated, as though some tremendous reservoir of it lay ahead.
Yang Kai couldn't help feeling excited.
A full two days later, he finally saw it. On the distant horizon, the sky had taken on a dazzling, resplendent golden hue.
By now, Yang-attribute energy filled heaven and earth. Yang Kai circulated his True Yang Technique, and everything he drew into his body was the Yang Yuan Qi he needed.
Han Fei, on the other hand, had to exercise her own power to resist the corrosive effect of the Yang-attribute energy.
Yang-attribute energy had always been the bane of demonic qi—this was something even the Ancient Demon Clan could not escape. However, for a powerhouse like Han Fei, ordinary Yang-attribute attacks were negligible.
After another half-day of flight, the Yang-attribute energy grew even denser. Han Fei stopped, and the two of them hovered in midair, looking down.
Below them rose a towering mountain. Its crater yawned open like the maw of some fearsome beast, a terrifying sight, and deep within it, Yang Kai could even see rolling, incandescent red magma.
The Yang-attribute energy was so concentrated that the rock here had been melted, transformed into something akin to magma.
From time to time, gouts of molten rock erupted from the crater and streamed down its slopes.
And at this moment, the Yang Source Seal on Yang Kai's chest was pounding furiously, as though in great delight.
The Yang Source Seal responded only to Yang-attribute energy. Yang Kai had never felt it vibrate with such intensity—it was proof of just how powerful the Yang-attribute energy below truly was.
"This is the destination," Han Fei finally spoke. "Below is an extremely dense concentration of Yang-attribute energy. It should be more than enough for your needs. And from what we know, beneath the magma lie vast deposits of Yang Crystal Ore. If you have the ability, feel free to mine as much as you want. Our Ancient Demon Clan has no use for such things."
Yang Kai nodded slightly in understanding.
"I'll take you down first and find a suitable place for you to cultivate," Han Fei said, then wrapped her energy around Yang Kai and plunged downward.
