Chapter 631 — What Are You Doing?

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,052 words

There, in a pool of blood, Yun Xuan lay with her eyes wide open but unseeing, her full, voluptuous body exposed to the air. A gash ran across her flat abdomen, blood gushing out, painting her fair skin with an almost perverse beauty.

She was still breathing. There was no danger to her life. But Yang Kai keenly sensed that she had lost all will to live.

It seemed whatever she had just endured had extinguished her desire to survive.

Supporting his utterly weakened body, Yang Kai walked slowly toward her. He picked up his trousers and put them on, then took his torn shirt and ripped it in half.

After a moment's thought, he took out a portion of the Myriad Medicine Spirit Liquid and applied it to the wound on Yun Xuan's abdomen.

The touch of his fingers made her delicate body tremble wave after wave. She finally came back to her senses, and once she took in the scene before her, her beautiful eyes filled with an incredibly complicated mix of emotions.

"I know what you want to say, but right now it's better if you don't talk. Once we're out alive, you can hit me or scold me all you want. Everything that needed to be done has been done. But don't worry—I won't cling to you, and I hope you won't cling to me either. Let's just treat it as a shared dream. Once everything settles, we go our separate ways!" Yang Kai's expression was deadly serious, as though he were talking to himself.

He used half of the shirt to clean the wound on Yun Xuan's abdomen, then used the remaining half to bandage it.

Yun Xuan wanted to resist, but she couldn't muster a single shred of strength in her entire body.

The lingering aftereffects of that intense climax had left her body extraordinarily sensitive, and when Yang Kai touched her, an unbearable wave of shame and involuntary pleasure welled up from the depths of her heart.

The feeling left her utterly mortified. She closed her beautiful eyes and began to sob softly.

Yang Kai dressed her gently, then finally sat down hard on the ground, gasping for breath.

Since he had begun cultivating, he didn't think he had ever sustained such a serious wound. If he hadn't dodged the vital spots at the critical moment, that strike from the Enchantress would likely have killed him.

The plan had been incredibly risky. But after hearing Yun Xuan's explanation earlier, a flash of inspiration had struck Yang Kai, giving him the idea of luring the Enchantress close and then seizing an opportunity to strike back.

He simply hadn't expected that the Enchantress would be so cautious, forcing him to grit his teeth and play out the entire act.

The place where the two of them were still remained isolated by whatever method the Enchantress had employed.

After her death, the barriers around them had become extremely thin. But Yang Kai noticed with puzzlement that Ruan Xinyu and Zhou Luo, who were outside, showed no signs of movement whatsoever.

He forced himself to send out a burst of Zhenyuan energy and blasted through the barrier surrounding them. When Yang Kai saw Ruan Xinyu and Zhou Luo's condition, he immediately understood.

The Enchantress had apparently been worried they would flee while she was draining their blood essence, so she had used some unknown technique to knock them unconscious.

"Rest a while. They'll probably wake up soon," Yang Kai said quietly.

Yun Xuan continued to sob softly, tears sliding down her cheeks. She did not respond to him.

Knowing she was feeling terrible right now, Yang Kai said nothing more.

Silence descended. Yang Kai sat cross-legged on the ground and circulated his Zhenyuan to absorb the medicinal effects of the Myriad Medicine Spirit Liquid.

Come to think of it, this was the first time he himself had taken the Myriad Medicine Spirit Liquid. Although he had long known that this second-tier spirit medicine was highly effective for healing, Yang Kai quickly discovered he had still underestimated its potency.

The pain in his abdomen soon vanished, replaced by a tingling numbness. The flesh and blood there seemed to be writhing and regenerating, mending the wound.

Taking advantage of the downtime, Yang Kai sent his Divine Sense into his sea of consciousness and began absorbing the spiritual energy left behind by the Enchantress after her death.

Time trickled by.

Half a day later, Ruan Xinyu and Zhou Luo regained consciousness one after another.

It seemed they still hadn't quite grasped the situation. After waking, they looked at each other in bewilderment.

After a dazed moment, they finally recalled what had happened before they passed out.

Ruan Xinyu's face changed dramatically. She carefully inspected her clothing, and upon finding herself intact and unharmed, she let out a quiet breath of relief.

Zhou Luo turned to look around, and his eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets.

He had spotted that not far away, the Enchantress who had effortlessly killed over a dozen disciples of the Lone Pride Alliance and a Transcendent Realm expert had died in the most wretched state imaginable. That body—which could make any man's heart race—was torn to pieces, her entire head smashed into fragments.

Yun Xuan sat to one side, hugging her knees, looking miserable and desolate. The tears had stopped flowing, but both her eye sockets were beet red.

She stared fixedly at Yang Kai, who was meditating not far away, her beautiful eyes filled with a complicated mixture of emotions.

"Yun Xuan, are you all right?" Zhou Luo hurried over and asked solicitously.

Yun Xuan sat there blankly, unresponsive.

"What happened? How did the Enchantress die? Did some passing expert save us?" Zhou Luo peppered her with question after question. He had been certain they were all dead, so the fact that he was still alive had him buzzing with excitement.

"Stop talking for now," Ruan Xinyu said with a slight frown. She had noticed that Yun Xuan's mental state seemed off. She quickly crouched down in front of her, bit her lower lip, her brow furrowed with inner struggle, and after a long moment asked gently: "Yun Xuan, can you tell me what happened?"

Yun Xuan remained silent, her gaze locked solely on Yang Kai.
