The ink-colored giant's attacks were simple yet violent, and even the two Ninth-Order humans struggled to withstand them. Such was the meaning of overpowering all skill with brute force.
Amid the desperate retreat, Xiao Xiao hurled an object from her hand, flinging it toward the cluster of Ink Race powerhouses.
In that instant, alarm bells blazed through Mo Naye's mind. He instantly sensed something was wrong, and the only words echoing in his ears were "Yang Kai"…
Over the years, he had clashed openly and covertly with Yang Kai on numerous occasions, never once gaining the upper hand. Their last two encounters were especially galling—he had held overwhelming advantages both times, and the kill had seemed within reach, yet Yang Kai had always snatched victory from the jaws of defeat at the final moment.
The first time, the Ink Race had lost a massive number of Innate Domain Lords.
The second time, an actual King Lord and several pseudo-King Lords had fallen!
It was no exaggeration to say that Yang Kai had long since become Mo Naye's inner demon.
When he had confirmed that Yang Kai was trapped inside the Universe Furnace with no means of escape, Mo Naye had felt a twinge of regret, but far more than that—elation.
He would never have to face that human calamity again…
Yet he had never imagined that even now, in this situation, he would still have to contend with a backup plan Yang Kai had left behind who knew how many years ago!
He had no idea what that sphere Xiao Xiao had thrown was, but anything connected to Yang Kai could never be taken lightly.
The small sphere hurtled forward at terrifying speed, arriving almost the instant Xiao Xiao's voice fell. A pseudo-King Lord raised his fist and blasted a punch at it.
"Don't!" Mo Naye roared, but it was already too late.
Under the devastating force of the blow, the sphere stalled for the briefest of moments, but then continued onward as though nothing had stopped it.
The pseudo-King Lord's expression shifted. Others might not understand the sphere's mysteries, but he had sensed something peculiar—this tiny object possessed a weight beyond imagination, and supplemented by the profound power a Ninth-Order Open Heaven had infused into it, his punch had failed to halt it.
The sphere rapidly closed the distance. Although the pseudo-King Lord had heard Mo Naye's warning, a tremendous crisis now shrouded him, leaving no room for restraint. He surged even more power into his fist, attacking with everything he had.
A thunderous explosion shook the void. The pseudo-King Lord grunted, his body hurtling backward.
Simultaneously, the sphere shattered apart. It was, after all, no particularly sturdy artifact—how could it possibly remain intact under the full-force strike of a pseudo-King Lord?
The instant the sphere broke apart, spatial laws of profound power rippled outward. From the shattered fragments, vast expanses of broken floating continents suddenly materialized in the void. Fragments of every size shot outward in every direction, sending the Ink Race experts scrambling in chaos.
"The Universe!" Mo Naye said in a low, tight voice, his eyes trembling.
By now, how could he not understand? That sphere was no sphere at all—it was an entire Universe World. Someone had used an exquisite technique to refine an entire Universe World into that unassuming form!
Combined with what Xiao Xiao had said earlier, the first person Mo Naye thought of was Yang Kai.
In all the world, who but Yang Kai could accomplish such an inconceivable feat?
Moreover, he vaguely recalled hearing rumors years ago that a human powerhouse had managed to refine and save a number of Universe Worlds ahead of the Ink Race army. Those worlds, which had floated in the void for countless ages, had simply vanished without warning.
Ink Disciples had also let slip that Yang Kai possessed the means to refine a Universe World into a tiny sphere—it was called a Mysterious World Bead, or alternatively a Heaven and Earth Bead.
Putting all the pieces together, Mo Naye immediately understood: this was a Heaven and Earth Bead that Yang Kai had refined.
The pseudo-King Lord's strength was formidable, and shattering a Heaven and Earth Bead with a full-force blow posed no difficulty. However, the pseudo-King Lord had sustained minor injuries in the process, mainly because he hadn't expected such a small object to pack such devastating destructive power.
But what could a single Heaven and Earth Bead do to the Ink Race? Was this the great gift Yang Kai had left behind? If so, it was profoundly disappointing.
Mo Naye's mind remained taut, knowing the situation could not possibly be so simple. He simultaneously deflected the impacts of the shattered floating continents while scanning his surroundings with cold composure.
The next instant, he saw something that made his blood run cold, and his expression changed drastically.
In his field of vision, an enormous floating continent—one so vast it blotted out the sky—suddenly radiated a terrifying aura. As that aura surfaced, a figure slowly rose from within the void. The figure was towering and majestic, its bald head gleaming like a great sun hanging in the sky, its features savage yet tinged with a strange sort of guilelessness.
It seemed to have just awakened from slumber. Eyes like stars still held traces of daze and sleepiness, but its expression was distinctly displeased—anyone dragged awake from sleep against their will would likely look the same.
Mo Naye's soul nearly fled his body: "A Giant Spirit God!"
How could there be a Giant Spirit God?! How the hell could there be a Giant Spirit God?!
Mo Naye instantly realized that a Giant Spirit God had been sealed inside that small Heaven and Earth Bead. And he finally understood—the Heaven and Earth Bead had never been Yang Kai's gift to the Ink Race. The Giant Spirit God was!
Though this Giant Spirit God seemed to have only just awakened from sleep, no one would dare underestimate its power.
