Clan members had already slipped out of the Primordial Heavenly Restriction?
A thousand thoughts flashed through Mo Naye's mind in an instant, and he was filled with delight: "This is truly wonderful news!"
After a brief pause, he asked, "My Lord, were there any among those who escaped that were King Masters?"
Mo Yu shook his head. "You know the situation inside the Primordial Heavenly Restriction. With a human powerhouse stationed there keeping watch, the clan members spent a thousand years just to find a single flaw — no small feat in itself. If a King Master tried to slip out, the commotion would be too great and risk detection by that human powerhouse. So only those who made it out were Innate Territory Lords."
Mo Naye understood. Sneaking clan members out of the Primordial Heavenly Restriction was something that absolutely could not be exposed. If the human powerhouse guarding it caught wind and made even a small adjustment, a thousand years of effort by the clan members inside could be rendered completely worthless.
Though the Mo Clan currently had a respectable number of powerful fighters, their stock of Innate Territory Lords was nothing like it had been in the old days. After years of warfare, powerful Innate Territory Lords had fallen on the battlefield beyond counting. Of those still alive, fewer than one-tenth remained compared to the peak era.
The Primordial Heavenly Restriction was no shortage of Innate Territory Lords. Having them slip out one by one would be an enormous boost to the Mo Clan's current forces.
"The number who've made it out so far isn't large," Mo Yu continued, "but more and more clan members will be leaving the Primordial Heavenly Restriction in the future."
Mo Naye asked with some curiosity, "My Lord, with a human powerhouse guarding the Primordial Heavenly Restriction, how did the clan members manage to evade his detection and find a flaw?" He didn't doubt the abilities of those clan members inside — he simply feared this might be some sort of human scheme. If the humans knew Mo Clan powerhouses were slipping out of the Restriction, they might well turn it against them with a counterplay.
Having fought humanity for so many years, he had grown accustomed to considering every possible scenario.
Mo Yu gave him an approving look, clearly understanding what Mo Naye was worried about, and explained: "I told you before — this human powerhouse's strength is far inferior to Cang's, roughly at the level of an ordinary human Ninth Order. With that level of power, his control over the Primordial Heavenly Restriction is naturally nowhere near what Cang once had. He even foolishly opened up a breach of his own accord, coordinating with the human army and that Dragon Clan Saint Dragon to ambush clan members who charged out from the Restriction. Over the past thousand years, the battle there has never ceased. The clan members inside deliberately maintained that state of affairs — though the casualties were significant, it kept his attention fixated there. They even sacrificed several King Masters' lives. All of those sacrifices, just to prevent him from being able to divert his attention elsewhere."
Mo Naye understood. If the human powerhouse guarding the Primordial Heavenly Restriction had his full attention drawn to that deliberately opened breach, then his control over every other location would be drastically weakened. Under those circumstances, the clan members would naturally have room to slip about in secret. And after a thousand years of effort, they had finally succeeded.
This was absolutely a grand undertaking — to keep that human powerhouse occupied, they had even sacrificed several King Masters…
By the look of it, the humans' grip on the Primordial Heavenly Restriction was indeed far weaker than in the old days. The humans were completely unaware of these clan members who had slipped out.
Mo Naye immediately felt his worries ease.
Meng Que had been listening off to the side for some time and now spoke up: "My Lord, these clan members have never left the Primordial Heavenly Restriction before and are unfamiliar with the outside world. Should I go receive them?"
Since his advancement to False King Master, he had been confined to No-Return Pass the entire time — it was suffocating. King Master Mo Yu wouldn't let him go to the front lines to fight, but surely there would be no objection to letting him receive those clan members?
Before Mo Yu could respond, Mo Naye cut in firmly: "Absolutely not!"
Meng Que immediately glared at him. "And why not?"
Mo Naye gave him a cool glance. "Yang Kai is lurking outside No-Return Pass as we speak. The moment you leave, he'll detect your movements. If that happens, what would have been the point of hiding you all this time?"
Meng Que opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words. The frustration gnawing at him made him want nothing more than to pick a fight with Mo Naye right then and there.
Mo Yu nodded. "That's right. Meng Que, you cannot show your face. And those clan members shouldn't even come to No-Return Pass…"
Mo Naye bowed respectfully. "My Lord is wise. If Yang Kai were to spot the tracks of these clan members, he would easily deduce that something had gone wrong at the Primordial Heavenly Restriction. All it would take then was for the human powerhouse there to make a small adjustment and patch the flaw in the Restriction, and the clan members' thousand years of effort would be for nothing. I humbly ask that My Lord send word to those clan members, instructing them to find a place to recuperate and await the right moment. They must under no circumstances be exposed!"
Mo Yu said, "Agreed. However, No-Return Pass will need to send some supplies their way. The clan members who escaped from the Primordial Heavenly Restriction are mostly injured. They need supplies to heal. This matter… will be left to you to handle."
"Yes!" Mo Naye accepted the order. He then received a small Ink Nest from King Master Mo Yu to use for communicating with those clan members scattered outside.
Mo Naye was exceptionally thorough in his work. Considering that Yang Kai was hiding somewhere in the vicinity of No-Return Pass at all times, monitoring their movements, any attempt to send supplies outward would have to be channeled through the resource extraction teams — to avoid arousing Yang Kai's suspicions.
Before long, large quantities of supplies were quietly dispatched. From the various resource mining bases, Mo Clan members slipped away unnoticed, scattering in every direction across the Ink Battlefield.
Within the Primordial Heavenly Restriction, Mo Clan Territory Lords continued to sneak out one after another. Wu Kuang's strength was insufficient, his attention trapped, and he was utterly unable to detect any of it.
