Chapter 5646: Collecting Some Interest

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,063 words

This was a battle that had stretched on for thousands of years, and it was an evenly matched one.

The only ones capable of standing against the Ink Titan God were the true Titan God clan. Judging by the outcome before him, these two titan gods who had clashed for so many years were at a complete stalemate—neither could do anything to the other. Left unchecked, this fight might go on even longer.

Yang Kai observed silently for a while, not interrupting them. Instead, he shifted his attention to the other Ink Titan God.

That Ink Titan God sat cross-legged, its towering figure slightly hunched, its massive form blotting out a vast stretch of the void. One of its arms had thrust forward into the void ahead, piercing through the world wall, and was locked down on the other side in the Windstorm Domain by two human Ninth-Order masters. It was pinned in place, unable to move.

It had once borne numerous wounds—scars left by human powerhouses and even the Dragon Emperor and Phoenix Empress during the great battle in the Domain of the Void long ago. From those wounds, thick, viscous Ink Power flowed ceaselessly. But after so many years, the wounds on its body were visibly fewer, and far less horrifying than when Yang Kai had last seen them.

Its injuries were slowly healing.

Yang Kai's heart tightened. Even someone as powerful as the Ink Race King Master needed to enter an Ink Nest to hibernate in order to recover from severe wounds. But this Ink Titan God possessed some unknown miraculous ability that allowed it to heal on its own.

Though the speed of recovery didn't seem fast, it was undeniably healing.

Such a powerful being truly could not be judged by common sense. Come to think of it, when this Ink Titan God had been sealed in the Sacred Spirit Ancestral Ground, the Sacred Spirits must have battered it with grievous injuries. Yet after countless millennia, when Yang Kai went to the Sealed Ink Ground and saw it, though its aura had gone dormant, there were no lingering injuries visible on its surface. Clearly, this kind of extraordinary powerhouse could heal itself.

As if sensing Yang Kai's probing gaze, the Ink Titan God—which had been resting with its eyes closed—suddenly opened its eyelids and looked in Yang Kai's direction.

An invisible pressure crashed down like an entire world bearing onto Yang Kai's shoulders, forcing his body to sink.

An Eighth-Order Open Heaven cultivator—compared to an existence that had nearly surpassed the Ninth-Order, the gap was indeed enormous.

But Yang Kai had experienced this before. When this Ink Titan God had revived in the Sacred Spirit Ancestral Ground, he had given chase the entire time. Though he hadn't accomplished much, he wasn't the sort to crumble under mere pressure.

Channeling the power of his Small Universe, Yang Kai slowly straightened up.

In the distant void, the Ink Titan God seemed to let out a soft chuckle, then paid him no further attention.

It was as if it had spotted an amusing insect—worth a moment's entertainment at most, but hardly worth any real consideration. So what if he was Eighth-Order? It didn't even consider human Ninth-Order masters a threat. Without a dozen or twenty Ninth-Order masters joining forces, there was no way anyone could challenge it.

Yang Kai slowly closed his eyes. A moment later, he snapped them open and called out in a clear voice: "Two Ancestors—Yang Kai pays his respects!"

His voice traveled through the world wall pierced by the Ink Titan God's arm and reached Xiao Xiao and Wu Qing, who were stationed in the Windstorm Domain on the other side.

Both were startled. Ancestor Xiao Xiao quickly asked: "Yang Kai, you're in the Domain of the Void?"

"I am!" Yang Kai replied as he threw open the gateway of his Small Universe, beginning to summon the Small Stone tribe army.

In the Ancestral Ground, he had handed over over twenty million Small Stone tribe soldiers to those seven Ink Servants, but he had kept several million in reserve for himself.

The Small Stone tribe members he'd kept, however, didn't include any of the hundred-zhang tall Small Stone tribe powerhouses. They were all ordinary Small Stone tribe soldiers—not much use in a major battle—but for his purposes, they would serve well enough.

"What are you doing over there?" Ancestor Xiao Xiao asked, puzzled. "How is the situation with the humans?"

Yang Kai continued summoning the Small Stone tribe army, wave after wave. Before long, they packed the area around him shoulder to shoulder. He answered: "The situation is fairly stable—there's no need for concern, Ancestor. The reason I came here... is to collect some interest from the Ink Race."

"Collect interest?" Wu Qing's confused voice rang out.

Yang Kai called out sharply: "Two Ancestors, please be careful!"

"What are you doing?" In the Windstorm Domain, Wu Qing suddenly felt a sense of foreboding. He exchanged a glance with Ancestor Xiao Xiao, and both braced themselves with heightened vigilance.

In the Domain of the Void, the Ink Titan God also furrowed its brows, watching Yang Kai's movements with focused attention.

As Yang Kai's voice fell, two million Small Stone tribe members surged forward like a plague of locusts sweeping across the land, flooding toward the Ink Titan God in an overwhelming tide. They charged without the slightest fear of death—even facing a colossal existence like the Ink Titan God, they showed no trace of hesitation.

Their intelligence was low, and their species' nature was to grow stronger by devouring one another. They simply did not understand what death meant. For them, death was merely continuation in another form.

Using the Small Stone tribe to activate the Purifying Light was a tactic with both advantages and drawbacks. The advantage was sufficient concealment; the drawback was inflexibility. Once a Small Stone tribe member fell in battle, its remains would be left behind on the spot.

But against a stationary target like the Ink Titan God, it was the perfect approach.

Two million Strong Stone tribe soldiers surged forward majestically. In the blink of an eye, they had closed the distance to the Ink Titan God. Yet even an army of two million seemed trivial before this colossal being.

The scene looked like a swarm of buzzing mosquitoes descending upon a person.
