This outcome was entirely expected. Though a few stragglers had inevitably slipped through after the various traps were triggered, the formations and Artifacts mounted on the city walls were far from mere decorations. The remaining Mo creatures were too few in number to storm Biluo Pass, and lingering in place would only make them targets. Fleeing was their only option.
Moreover, Dawn eliminated enemies with blinding speed. The other squads were probably still out hunting, so naturally they had yet to emerge.
Ripples spread across the void, and a portal slowly materialized. Dawn plunged straight through.
This was a Qiankun Blessed Ground, where a fifteen-person squad from the Western Army's Dingmao Town Heaven Grade Guard was currently hunting Mo creatures that had been drawn inside.
This squad's captain did not possess
The Mo creatures were scattered throughout the area. The fifteen cultivators used their warship to cruise between hunting grounds, and there was little risk involved. With the help of the jade tokens, the captain could easily pinpoint where the Mo creatures were hiding.
After over an hour of hunting, more than half of the thousand-odd Mo creatures had been eliminated. Now, this squad was tackling a particularly tough morsel.
The territory of a Qiankun Blessed Ground was naturally far smaller than that of a Qiankun Cave Heaven—the former was the legacy of a deceased Seventh-Order Open Heaven cultivator, while the latter belonged to an Eighth-Order.
So even though fewer than a thousand Mo creatures had been pulled in, they had actually been quite lucky in where they landed. They were not scattered too far apart, and in barely an hour over two hundred Mo creatures had congregated in one place, among them three Lords.
A fifteen-person squad with two Seventh-Order Open Heaven cultivators and the rest at the Fifth or Sixth Order—they could theoretically overwhelm the group with their warship's power, but casualties were inevitable. After all, to support the execution of the grand plan, every squad's warship at Biluo Pass had sustained varying degrees of damage, and their defensive capabilities were badly worn.
So the captain of this squad did not choose a frontal assault. Instead, through several skirmishes he feigned weakness and lured the two-hundred-plus Mo creatures toward a specific direction.
In that direction lay a grand formation that Biluo Pass had pre-positioned. With that formation's power, devouring these two hundred Mo creatures would be far easier.
In truth, several formations had been set up inside every Qiankun Cave Heaven and Qiankun Blessed Ground—specifically for moments like this.
Dawn was powerful, fielded numerous Seventh-Order Open Heaven cultivators, and had enjoyed excellent fortune as well. When hunting Mo creatures earlier, they had never needed to resort to those formations.
But not every team was Dawn, and not every warship was called the Dawn.
As the distance to the formation grew shorter and the pursuing Mo creatures were about to stumble into it, a dazzling streak of light suddenly shot toward them from ahead.
The squad's captain was startled, thinking they had come under some kind of attack. When he looked more closely, he saw that the incoming vessel was a human warship.
And it was no ordinary mass-produced warship!
In a flash of understanding, the captain cursed at the top of his lungs: "That scoundrel! How did he come all the way here to steal our kills too?!"
Even as the words left his mouth, the approaching vessel had already swept past them. The next instant, violent energy fluctuations erupted behind them, and the Mo creatures in pursuit screamed in agony as they were obliterated.
"It's Dawn!" a member of the squad exclaimed. The Dawn was simply too distinctive—its size and ferocity far surpassed those ordinary squad-level warships, to say nothing of the devastatingly powerful Artifacts mounted on its hull.
Those were all things that cost a staggering amount of battle merits to acquire.
"Captain, what do we do?" someone asked.
The Seventh-Order captain's eye twitched. Through gritted teeth he snarled: "Kill our way back!"
Moments later, the dust settled.
The two squads had converged, and both warships hovered side by side in midair. Below them lay a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood—not a single Mo creature from the pursuing group had survived.

The captain fumed, his cheeks puffing up with frustration as he struggled for words. Although they could have used the formation to kill those Mo creatures without Dawn's help, it certainly wouldn't have been this effortless. He owed them a debt of sorts, yet he refused to thank them. Instead he simply asked, "Brother Yang, what brings you here? Have you already finished off all the Mo creatures on your end?"
