Sitting beside Kunlong Gorge, Yang Kai was about to begin cultivating when something suddenly crossed his mind.
He reached into his pocket, groping around for a good while before pulling out a seed. This was the seed the stall owner had thrown in for free when he bought a Yangyan Stone at the Blood Battle Gang's booth earlier today.
Supposedly the seed of a Three Yang Fruit — a low-grade earth grade spirit fruit.
Yang Kai wanted to plant it. He had no idea how many years it would take to grow, but it wasn't much trouble. Plus, the Yang Qi here was abundant, making it the perfect place to grow this kind of fruit tree.
But the moment he took the seed out, something seemed off.
When he'd seen it during the day, there had been nothing unusual about it — just a faint wisp of Yang Qi inside, barely worth mentioning.
Now, though, the seed had turned a deep, translucent red, like a ruby. Holding it in his palm, Yang Kai could even feel rhythmic pulses emanating from within.
It was as though… as though it had a heartbeat, brimming with vitality.
And the Yang Qi contained in the seed right now was vastly more abundant than it had been during the day.
Yang Kai stared at it blankly for a moment, then suddenly snapped to attention! He realized where the drop of Yang Liquid that had vanished from his dantian had gone.
It had been absorbed by this seed! Otherwise, how else could such an ordinary seed have undergone such a dramatic transformation? A single drop of Yang Liquid — even without any external assistance, refining it would have taken Yang Kai several days of effort.
He nearly couldn't stop himself from drawing the Yang Liquid back out of the seed!
But after a moment's thought, he decided against it. The seed had clearly undergone a major change. If he planted it, what would it look like once it bloomed and bore fruit?
A young man's curiosity and thirst for knowledge ran deep. Compared to one precious drop of Yang Liquid, Yang Kai was far more eager to see what would happen after planting the seed.
After carefully weighing his options, he got to work. First, he found a patch of relatively soft soil nearby, gently parted the earth, and planted the seed. Then he went to find some water and poured it over the spot.
Having finished all this, Yang Kai sat down and circulated his True Yang Technique.
Whether that one drop of Yang Liquid invested in the seed would yield any returns remained to be seen.
The night passed without incident. After so many days of hard cultivation, his speed of absorbing Yang Qi had noticeably improved again. After an entire night of practice, the Yang Qi in his meridians was fully replenished.
He estimated that in another two or three days, he would be able to condense another drop of Yang Liquid. The efficiency was incomparably better than the first time.
The next morning, Yang Kai spent half a shichen practicing the Tempering Body Chapter.
He had never skipped a single day of Tempering Body Chapter training. Every day, without fail, after sweeping the floors and practicing the Tempering Body Chapter, he would find some junior disciple to push around and earn a few Contribution Points. The rest of the time he spent cultivating without a moment's rest.
