The meaning of those thirty-two characters was easy to grasp, and Yang Kai naturally understood them.
But the origins of the Black Book were unclear, making Yang Kai somewhat wary. What if this was a trap? At this thought, Yang Kai gave a wry smile: he was now just a Trial Disciple of Lingxiao Pavilion; who would go to such lengths to target him?
However, judging from the literal meaning of the later lines, the transformation of the Black Stone Pillow into the Black Book was probably related to his dream earlier today.
He had used it as a pillow for over a year without any change, yet today it turned into the Black Book. This was definitely inseparable from the shift in his mental state during the dream.
It was precisely because of his own transformation that the Black Stone Pillow had changed.
Since he himself had brought about the Black Book’s birth, then this Black Book was born for him! He was the master of this Black Book!
With this thought, Yang Kai no longer hesitated. The writing on the Black Book clearly required him to drop blood as a guide. Deciding to give it a try, Yang Kai put his hand to his mouth and bit down hard, then extended his finger toward the first page of the Black Book.
Blood dripped down. Initially, nothing happened, but as time passed, layers of black light rippled on the Black Book. Yang Kai was already in poor health, and having been injured earlier, after all this exertion, he actually felt a bit dizzy.
But Yang Kai gritted his teeth and endured. Blood continued to flow, and the light on the page grew ever brighter.
It continued for about a quarter of an hour; Yang Kai nearly fainted before the page finally underwent a tangible change. The surging black light writhed and contracted, and a small vortex appeared right in the center of the page.
Immediately, a burst of golden light flashed inside the vortex. Yang Kai struggled to keep his wits about him and stared intently at what was happening.
From within the black vortex, a shiny, round, golden object slowly rose.
Yang Kai was astounded. There really was something inside the page! Although he had held some expectations when he decided to drip blood, he had never actually thought it would succeed.
But now, everything before his eyes proved that the thirty-two characters on the page were not false.
“Drop blood as a guide, and the Golden Body descends!”
What kind of Golden Body was it? Yang Kai’s pale face was full of anticipation.
After a moment, when that shiny, round object fully revealed itself, Yang Kai couldn’t help but gulp. No matter how wild his imagination, he had never considered that the Golden Body would look like this.
It was a golden skeleton only about half a foot tall, and the first shiny thing that had emerged was its skull. The golden skeleton floated on the page of the Black Book, sitting cross-legged, clearly in a meditative posture. Each bone emitted a golden light, illuminating Yang Kai’s small room with a splendid golden radiance.
The black vortex on the page gradually disappeared, and everything returned to calm.
Yang Kai stared at this bizarre golden skeleton, momentarily at a loss. The page only explained how to bring down the Golden Body, but not how to handle it afterward.
As he looked, Yang Kai suddenly felt something was off. This golden skeleton clearly had no eyes, yet Yang Kai felt it was appraising him; it also had no mouth, yet it seemed to be sneering at his weakness.
Sensing this, Yang Kai became enraged and grabbed at the golden skeleton.
A mere little skeleton, how dare it be so arrogant!
But the moment he moved, the golden skeleton flew straight toward him, passed right through his hand, and stamped onto Yang Kai’s chest.
