That said, this was truly a matter of great significance. If Zhuozhao and Youying could really coexist peacefully, it would be an enormous boon for the entire vast expanse of the world. At the very least, the Blessed Realms would no longer have to worry about the aftershocks of their conflict annihilating entire Great Domains.
Countless years ago, the number of Great Domains destroyed by their battles was staggering — a loss borne by the entire world.
So even though he didn't entirely believe what Yang Kai had said, the Eighth-Order Supreme spoke up: "Stay here for now. I'll go in and take a look."
He had entered the Chaotic Death Domain before. An Eighth-Order Open Heaven cultivator was immensely powerful — while he couldn't venture deep into the Chaotic Death Domain, lingering briefly near the outer perimeter was no problem.
He had gone in several times before to investigate the situation, but each time he returned quickly. The longer he stayed, the harder it became to endure.
Once, during one of those brief stays, he had even managed to obtain a half-person-tall Seventh-Order Blue Crystal from within.
"Be careful, Supreme!" the others called out with concern.
The Eighth-Order Supreme nodded faintly, channeling the full power of his inner universe to shield his body. He then conjured a protective Artifact, which transformed into a layer of radiance enveloping him before he plunged headfirst into the Domain Gate.
In just a few breaths' time, he was back.
But to everyone's shock, he was now charred from head to toe, his robes reduced to tatters, his hair a disheveled mess. Wisps of smoke curled from the top of his head, as though he had been struck by lightning.
And the protective Artifact he had deployed earlier was nowhere to be seen — evidently obliterated completely within those few short breaths.
Yang Kai was instantly dumbfounded: "That's impossible!"
When he had exited the Chaotic Death Domain earlier, everything inside had been perfectly calm. How could the Supreme have gotten struck by lightning the moment he went in?
Suspicious, Yang Kai flashed into the Chaotic Death Domain to investigate. Several of the Seventh-Order Open Heaven cultivators nearby tried to stop him, but they were too late.
The Chaotic Death Domain was still perfectly calm. Brother Huang and Sister Lan stood there quietly, gazing expectantly toward the Domain Gate.
The moment Yang Kai appeared, Sister Lan exclaimed excitedly, "All done?"
Yang Kai shook his head. "Not that fast — I just got out. I need a little more time."
Brother Huang frowned. "If it's not done, why did you come back?"
Yang Kai asked, "Did you two do something just now?"
Sister Lan tilted her head. "You mean that old man? He suddenly charged in and startled me, so I swatted him once. Didn't do much."
Nearly took the man's life...
Yang Kai didn't know what to say. He could only urge, "Try not to hit so hard next time. He meant no harm — he just came to check on the situation."
Brohther Huang snorted coldly. "Be grateful I didn't kill him. Go tell him not to barge in here again. He's come a few times before, and we never gave him any trouble about it."
"Fine, fine, fine!" Yang Kai nodded repeatedly. It seemed Brother Huang was quite xenophobic — the Chaotic Death Domain apparently wasn't keen on welcoming visitors.
He turned and flashed back out of the Chaotic Death Domain.
The Supreme's head was wounded, but the injury wasn't too serious. Seeing Yang Kai emerge unscathed and comparing that with his own ordeal, even an Eighth-Order cultivator couldn't help feeling a mix of grief and indignation.
"It's like this..." Yang Kai thought for a moment, then explained. "The two inside don't appreciate being disturbed. You appeared suddenly, so they weren't too pleased."
The Supreme nodded slightly. "They showed mercy." If they hadn't held back, he would be dead. The fact that he was merely injured was already the best possible outcome.
What shocked him even more was that those two supreme beings — existing since time immemorial — were apparently two children around ten years of age.
Had he not seen them with his own eyes, he never would have believed it.
In all the countless years past, no one had ever witnessed the true forms of Zhuozhao and Youying. He didn't know whether what he had seen was their actual forms or simply manifested images.
But despite his astonishment, he could confirm that the Chaotic Death Domain was truly safe now. The terrifying shockwaves he had witnessed before were gone entirely. The entire domain was serene and still.
It seemed what the young man had said earlier was true.
Suppressing the turbulent emotions within, the Supreme asked, "You mentioned earlier that you found a new game for those two. Is there anything you need from us?"
Zhuozhao and Youying ceasing their conflict — this was unquestionably an enormous piece of good news. At the very least, they would never again have to fear another Great Domain being destroyed.
The Supreme's abrupt change in attitude was noticed by the other Seventh-Order Open Heaven cultivators as well, and they all turned to look at Yang Kai with serious expressions.
Yang Kai said, "That's exactly what I was about to ask for your help with."
"Name it."
"Like this — the game requires a vast expanse of territory for those two to play freely. But as you know, the Chaotic Death Domain is nothing but empty void. So I've been entrusted by them to find a suitable place here."
The Supreme considered this for a moment, then nodded. "I understand. Follow me!"
With that, he took the lead.
Yang Kai followed close behind.
Several hours later, a massive world came into view before them. The Supreme pointed at it and asked, "How about this one?"
"It would certainly work. But doesn't anyone live here?"
The Supreme replied, "There used to be, but they all relocated decades ago. The place is completely deserted now — though there might still be some spirit beasts roaming about."
