In the Ancestral Land, both the Kun Clan and the Phoenix Clan were great clans—powerful, with vast numbers of kinfolk. Ordinary Holy Spirits wouldn't dare provoke them lightly.
What Kun Ao had just done was plain for all to see. Though he had used a secret technique to sweep away the numerous younger generation, he had exercised remarkable control over the force—he had no intention of harming anyone.
So those several glances directed at him merely carried fierce glares before withdrawing.
Pairs of eyes converged upon the Azure Phoenix and Yang Kai's group, filled with eager anticipation.
"What do I need to do?" Yang Kai asked.
The Azure Phoenix said, "Stand at the center of the Sealing Formation. Once it begins, simply cooperate with us."
Yang Kai nodded and, under the gaze of the crowd, flickered to the very center of the enormous Sealing Formation.
Once he was in position, the Azure Phoenix spoke: "Form the Four Directions Formation!"
Yuanzhuo, Yuezhuo, and Honghu all nodded. Four figures flickered and took their positions at the four corners of the great formation. In the next instant, the majesty of the Holy Spirits permeated the air, and clear, piercing cries echoed between heaven and earth.
As brilliant light erupted in four colors—purple, blue, gold, and white—the four women transformed into their true forms.
Four enormous Phoenix Clan beings, each no less than a thousand zhang in size, beat their wings and soared through the sky, craning their necks and crying out in magnificent calls. Wild winds howled, sending sand and stones hurtling across the heavens and earth.
Yang Kai watched with dazzled fascination. He had seen the Phoenix Clan's true forms before, but never so massive, never so overwhelmingly majestic.
That terrifying pressure radiated outward, and even though it wasn't deliberately directed at him, it still made his body feel heavy.
A sharp, piercing cry rang out, and four streams of essence blood sprayed from the mouths of the Azure Phoenix and her companions, splattering across the Sealing Formation. In an instant, the formation hummed to life, and space itself trembled.
Yang Kai roared involuntarily. Between dragon roars and thunderous howls, a brilliant golden dragon head materialized behind him and plunged into his body. In the next instant, his frame swelled, his hands transformed into dragon claws, dragon scales draped across his body, two dragon horns drilled out from his forehead, and a dragon tail lashed behind him. As he shook his head and shifted, dragon whiskers beneath his chin fluttered wildly.
A small figure had suddenly transformed into a colossal being over three hundred zhang tall.
The watching Holy Spirits, however, furrowed their brows. They had assumed Yang Kai was a pure-blooded dragon, but what they saw before them was only a half-human, half-dragon form. This clearly indicated that Yang Kai's bloodline was not what they had imagined. With such a bloodline, could he really break the seal?
But now, the arrow was nocked and the bowstring drawn—they had no choice but to press forward. All they could do was suppress their doubts and watch quietly.
Within the Sealing Formation, Yang Kai's dragon power surged endlessly, the blood and qi in his chest and abdomen churning violently. A mouthful of essence blood erupted from him and splashed across the formation.
The formation, already stimulated by the essence blood of the Azure Phoenix and the others, had been flickering with radiance. Now, with Yang Kai's dragon blood added, the glow intensified many times over.
Lines of runes within the formation lit up one after another, connecting into vast luminous patterns.
The dragon and phoenix bloodlines that had been sprinkled into it moved like living things, writhing and coursing through the runes.
As time passed, a massive phantom gate materialized in the sky above the formation. It stood between heaven and earth, vast and majestic, having shown no trace before. Only now did it reveal its imposing form.
The Holy Spirits' faces lit up with excitement as they raised their eyes to gaze upward.
The Demon Sealing Ground was not some forbidden zone. The younger generation of Holy Spirits loved to cultivate here, and many of the elders had also come to investigate. But no one—whether young or old—had ever detected any trace of this gate before.
Yet now, at the moment when the dragon and phoenix bloodlines converged, the gate had appeared.
In other words, the seal truly might be broken. A predicament that had tormented the Ancestral Land's Holy Spirits for countless years suddenly showed signs of resolution. How could they not be excited?
As time elapsed, the gate standing between heaven and earth grew ever more solid, as if it truly existed. But anyone could see that it was not a physical structure—it was a manifestation of energy, the true body of the seal.
Behind that gate lay the secret the Ancestral Land had concealed for so many years.
Half an hour later, the formation's radiance began to dim slightly, yet the gate still showed no sign of opening.
Kun Ao called out in a low voice, "Azure Phoenix—it's not enough!"
Hearing this, the Azure Phoenix and her companions each spat out another mouthful of essence blood.
Yang Kai at the center of the formation did the same.
The formation's light, which had begun to fade, blazed back to brilliance. From within the formation, two forces intertwined and entwined, spreading like vines toward that massive gate.
Every Holy Spirit felt those two forces clearly—they were unmistakably the bloodline power of the Dragon Clan and the Phoenix Clan.
It was as if a pair of invisible hands were pushing against the great gate. Accompanied by a creaking sound that echoed between heaven and earth, the massive gate slowly parted, revealing a narrow gap.
Kun Ao and the other Holy Spirits' eyes instantly blazed with keen light, their gazes fixed unblinkingly.
Pure, refined power seeped through the gap in the gate—the very power of the Ancestral Land. But in all these years, no Holy Spirit had ever felt such concentrated power. Wrapped in it now, they all couldn't help but feel a warm, comfortable sensation.
Yang Kai, standing at the center of the formation, felt it most acutely. Under the stimulation of that power, he felt his dragon bloodline boiling. His blood was being refined at a rate he could actually perceive.
The most striking change that followed was that his already massive body—already at its previous limit—began to grow once more. The blood within him surged like raging rivers.
