"Why are you crying, Junior Sister?" Senior Brother Lu suddenly turned his head, gazing at his junior sister with a smile.
The woman shook her head, and her tear-filled eyes suddenly erupted with bone-deep hatred. "You're not Senior Brother Lu!"
"Fool!" Senior Brother Lu chuckled softly. "If I'm not your Senior Brother Lu, then who could I be?" He raised his hand to touch the woman's smooth cheek, and that ice-cold palm coiled toward her like a venomous serpent, making her feel as though she'd plunged into an icy cellar!
A flash of cold light bloomed as a long sword materialized in the woman's hand. She drove it straight toward Senior Brother Lu, piercing clean through his chest!
Senior Brother Lu looked down at the weapon buried in his heart, showing none of the reaction one would expect from a lethal blow. Even though his heart had just been blasted into shreds by the woman's World Force, he still smiled as lightly as a passing breeze. "Those who love the deepest are always the most ruthless!"
He reached out and seized the woman by the neck. From the wound in his chest, blood squirmed out like a living thing, transforming into blood mist. No matter how the woman struggled, she couldn't break free. The blood mist enveloped her, and her figure vanished.
By the time the blood mist receded, the woman was nowhere to be found.
The three remaining sect members were each struck with indescribable terror.
Senior Brother Lu turned his head and growled: "Yang Kai, you've been hunting me for so long. Did you really think I was afraid of you? Now that I have so many blood offerings, let's see how you fight me!"
What was eerie was that at the same moment this Senior Brother Lu spoke, the twenty-plus people who had walked out first all said the exact same words in perfect unison, their tone and inflection identical in every way!
The twenty-plus people simultaneously shifted their hand seals and shouted as one: "Tidal Blood Sea!"
The instant the words fell, all twenty-plus figures exploded simultaneously, bursting into plumes of blood mist that rapidly spread outward in every direction. Even the three Yang Kai had killed first with his spear were the same.
In the void, the Blood Sea suddenly took shape, blanketing an enormous area and expanding wildly outward. The numerous Kai Tian cultivators who had followed their sect members out couldn't dodge in time and were swept directly into the Blood Sea. Screams erupted alongside the explosive bursts of artifacts and secret techniques, all descending into utter chaos.
But soon, all those sounds vanished together, leaving only the towering Blood Sea churning restlessly.
The spectators further away naturally retreated en masse at the sight of the sudden upheaval. The fast ones escaped danger in the blink of an eye, while the slower ones were ensnared by blood dragons writhing out of the Blood Sea and dragged straight back in.
Within the Blood Sea, Yang Kai and Xu Wang stood back to back, surrounded by churning crimson blood that reeked of iron. The two of them were like a lone reef in the middle of the ocean, guarding the only patch of pure ground.
"Junior Brother, if I die here, please send my corpse back to Mingwang Heaven!" Xu Wang called out.
Yang Kai scoffed: "You think you'd still have a whole body if you died?"
Xu Wang thought for a moment about the Blood Crow Divine Lord's eerie methods just now and immediately deflated. "Dying without a whole body—that's just too miserable!"
"That's exactly why you should try not to die!" Yang Kai laughed.
As they spoke, the Blood Sea before them twisted and surged, suddenly coalescing into a graceful, slender figure—it was the woman Yang Kai had killed with a single spear thrust earlier.
The woman's eyes were filled with venomous resentment. She clutched her neck, staring at Yang Kai like a vengeful ghost, crimson blood streaming from her eyes—an utterly terrifying sight. "That spear thrust just now... it really hurt!"
"Playing ghost tricks!" Yang Kai snorted coldly and thrust his spear again, blowing the woman's head apart in exactly the same manner as her earlier death.
But this time, her shattered skull regrew almost instantly, as though she were immortal and indestructible. She continued to glare at Yang Kai with seething hatred. "Even if you kill me a thousand or ten thousand times, so what? Can you actually kill me?"
"Stand right there and let me stab you a thousand or ten thousand times, then you'll find out whether I can kill you or not." Yang Kai thrust once more, and atop his spear, a black sphere the size of a fist detonated with a thunderous boom, transforming into a black hole that devoured all things.
Figure after figure appeared one after another—all warriors who had just died at the hands of the Blood Crow Divine Lord. There were even some Yang Kai had never seen before, clearly people who had fallen prey to him in the past and been refined and devoured.
These people varied in strength—some at the Sixth Grade, others at the Third Grade. They each sprouted from the churning bloodwater, one after another. Blood Crow alone could form an army! Yang Kai's spear flickered back and forth while Xu Wang's fists transformed into a sky full of fist shadows, cutting through them until rivers of blood flowed.
Yet it was utterly futile. No matter how many times these people died, they could rapidly revive.
After fighting fiercely for a long while, Yang Kai's brow furrowed deeply. He had intended to use the Striking Ox Secret Art again, but Blood Crow had suffered a serious setback at his hands before and was clearly much wiser this time around. He leaked not the slightest trace of his aura, making it impossible for Yang Kai to lock on.
"Junior Brother, we can't keep killing like this forever. Blood Crow is clearly trying to drain our strength. If he succeeds, we'll be turtles in a jar—trapped with nowhere to go," Xu Wang transmitted suddenly.
Yang Kai's expression didn't change, but how could he not know that Xu Wang spoke the truth? Blood Crow's plan was obvious to anyone with eyes. Outside that gale force technique earlier, he had employed the exact same strategy against Xu Wang. If Yang Kai hadn't suddenly charged out of the gale and caught Blood Crow off guard, Xu Wang would likely have met a grim fate.
Now Blood Crow was repeating his old trick. He had not only trapped Xu Wang—even Yang Kai couldn't escape. With the Blood Sea fully formed, sealing off heaven and earth, even teleportation was nearly impossible to execute.
"What do you plan to do, Senior Brother Xu?" Yang Kai asked through voice transmission.
"Junior Brother, follow me—we'll carve a bloody path to freedom!"
