Those who had mastered the Laws of Space were exceptional at both fleeing and pursuing, and Blood Crow's escape had already vanished without a trace. But if Yang Kai was determined to search him out and give chase, there was no way he could shake him off!
Yang Kai didn't immediately give chase. Instead, he flickered and appeared before Xu Wang.
The man had two wounds across his chest and abdomen, blood seeping steadily from them. His face was slightly pale, and the crimson Blood Dao energy at his wounds writhed like spirit snakes, burrowing in and out as it ceaselessly devoured Xu Wang's vital blood to strengthen itself.
Though Xu Wang was trying his best to suppress it, driving out this strange Blood Dao energy would certainly take some time.
"Young Brother, the enemy is what matters — don't worry about me," Xu Wang said, looking up.
Yang Kai nodded slightly. "Senior Brother Xu, take care of yourself."
Xu Wang grinned at him. "Your senior brother's tough as old leather — I can't die that easily. You go on ahead, and I'll catch up."
Yang Kai said nothing more. His figure blurred as he set off in pursuit of the fleeing Blood Crow.
Blood Crow had comprehended the Great Yan Indestructible Blood Illumination Scripture, and his Blood Dao cultivation was unfathomably deep. His Blood Dao movement technique was blazingly fast — but such speed looked rather unimpressive when measured against the Laws of Space.
Though Blood Crow had fled dozens of breaths ahead and constantly shifted direction to confuse Yang Kai, he still couldn't shake his pursuer.
One day later, in the deep void of Broken Sky, the two clashed once more!
Blood Crow had already lost to Yang Kai once and knew full well he was no match for the man. Facing him a second time, the blazing momentum he'd had before was nowhere to be found. After lasting only half the time it took to finish a cup of tea, he had fallen completely on the defensive, the situation growing dire by the second.
Just as Yang Kai was about to press in for the kill, Blood Crow suddenly gritted his teeth, his figure blurred — and split into three!
Not only were all three identical in appearance, but even their auras were indistinguishable. Each one even held the same pair of butterfly blades.
The three Blood Crows formed a triangle and simultaneously struck at Yang Kai with devastating force.
Yang Kai raised his spear to block, his body blasting back dozens of li. When he looked up again, the three Blood Crows had already transformed into three streaks of light, each fleeing in a different direction.
And that wasn't all — on the way, each of the three Blood Crows split into three again!
Suddenly there were nine Blood Crows!
Even Yang Kai, who had seen his share of wonders, couldn't help but furrow his brow. His divine sense spread out like a tide, but he simply couldn't tell which of the nine Blood Crows was real and which were fake!
This secret technique that divided one body into nine was truly breathtaking. The Great Yan Indestructible Blood Illumination Scripture was indeed endlessly profound!
Without wasting too much time, Yang Kai gripped his spear and charged toward the nearest Blood Crow. Since he couldn't tell real from fake, he'd just have to kill all nine!
Another round of chase and maneuver followed.
One month later, eight Blood Crows had fallen one after another beneath Yang Kai's Azure Dragon Spear. Only the last one remained, still fleeing for its life.
Yang Kai didn't believe his luck was so terrible that out of nine kills he'd let Blood Crow slip through with that one slender chance. He could only surmise that this technique of splitting one body into nine meant each one was both fake and real at the same time.
In other words, as long as even a single one of the nine Blood Crows survived, Blood Crow would not die!
Five more days passed before Yang Kai finally caught up with that last Blood Crow. A brutal battle ensued, and Blood Crow had no power to fight back. At the moment between life and death, his entire body detonated, transforming into a sky full of blood-red crows that scattered in every direction. Though Yang Kai killed as many as he could, a few inevitably slipped through the net!
Even with an absolute advantage, Yang Kai had to marvel — Blood Crow's life-preserving techniques truly were inexhaustible. The man had completely broadened his horizons. This was unquestionably the hardest person he had ever tried to kill!
In the silence of the void, atop a shattered spirit continent, Blood Crow's face was a mask of gloom and fury as he swallowed Open Heaven Pill after Open Heaven Pill to replenish his depleted energy.
Between his previous life and this one, he had never been so wretched.
He had once been chased by a Seventh-Order Open Heaven master, but even that expert from Myriad Demons Heaven hadn't pushed him to such extremes.
Yet a mere Sixth-Order Yang Kai had shown him the very depths of desperation!
The Blood Dao was formidable, yes — but the Dao of Space was even more wondrous. Trying to flee before someone who had mastered the Laws of Space left Blood Crow feeling utterly powerless.
He secretly congratulated himself: fortunately, that Seventh-Order from Myriad Demons Heaven who had hunted him before hadn't been adept in the Laws of Space. Otherwise, he wouldn't still be alive!
The long chase, combined with several enormously costly secret techniques deployed in succession, had barely kept him alive. Blood Crow's aura was now feeble, his strength less than half of his peak!
Several streaks of light suddenly appeared on the horizon, heading straight toward him.
Having been pursued relentlessly by Yang Kai, Blood Crow had become a bird startled by the mere twang of a bowstring. The moment he saw those lights, his heart lurched with terror, and he nearly fled on pure instinct.
