Under normal circumstances, even battles between Upper Open Heaven cultivators might not be able to breach the void barrier. But Yang Kai was well-versed in the Laws of Space, and with the detonation of the Heavenly Sword Palace adding momentum, through a perfect storm of coincidences, Zuo Quanhui had been able to leverage Yang Kai's power to punch through the passage between two great domains, giving himself a chance to escape.
Otherwise, even as a veteran Seventh Order, Zuo Quanhui would never have been able to slip away under Yang Kai's watch. All Yang Kai needed to do was hold him in place, and once the dozen or so Sixth Order cultivators of Void Land finished their opponents and had hands to spare, they could join forces and besiege the old dog together — Zuo Quanhui would have had no way to withstand that.
What a pity that such a golden opportunity had slipped away. Who knew whether it was that old dog's fate to survive, or simply the will of heaven being unkind!
"I wonder which great domain lies on the other side!" Qing Kui frowned.
"Let's go in and find out!" Yang Kai said, taking a step forward.
"I'll go first!" Gray Bone flickered to appear in front of Yang Kai and charged toward the domain gate without hesitation. Having personally slain the Netherworld Monarch and avenged his great enmity, Gray Bone felt that his life was now complete. Whether there were ambushes on the other side of the domain gate, the first one through would inevitably be at a disadvantage. Yang Kai clearly hadn't fully recovered yet and really shouldn't be leading the charge into the unknown.
This alone showed the difference between Gray Bone and the likes of Mao Zhe. Though all their names were inscribed in the Loyal Devotion Register, Gray Bone's devotion proved itself even more steadfastly.
Yang Kai didn't dare let him venture into the domain gate alone. Although the gate had been created by his strike piercing the void barrier, it had just been formed and was still unstable. Yang Kai, who possessed the Laws of Space, had nothing to fear from the disturbances of void energy, but Gray Bone was different — if fortune was unkind, he could easily become lost in the gaps of the void.
After Gray Bone, Yang Kai followed like a shadow, and the rest hurried to keep up.
The domain gate was indeed unstable. Passing through it produced a sensation of twisting and inversion, the surrounding void energy surging and ebbing. Occasional wisps of chaotic, primordial aura drifted through, making everyone's hearts clench with alarm.
Fortunately, everything passed without incident. In a short while, everyone had passed through the domain gate and arrived in the great domain on the other side.
Everyone immediately channeled their World Force, standing on guard in silence.
But there was no ambush and no attack. It seemed Zuo Quanhui didn't have the courage to remain here and await the pursuit of the Void Land cultivators. Half of his Sixth Order subordinates had perished in the previous battle, and those below Sixth Order were completely wiped out. He himself had been grievously wounded by Yang Kai's spear. Staying here was no different from waiting to die — he was better off fleeing early, finding somewhere to recover, and looking for an opportunity to stage a comeback.
What greeted their eyes was a brilliant nebula, sinuous stretches of void, and shimmering stars — magnificent and resplendent with color.
The breathtaking sight gave everyone pause. Even Yang Kai raised an eyebrow slightly. Though he had visited many great domains, scenery as magnificent as this was exceedingly rare.
No other great domain could compare.
The abundance of stars meant this great domain held a vast number of World, brimming with resources. Far off in the distance, millions of li away, a great sun radiated brilliant light, and golden flares flickered around it from time to time.
Yang Kai turned his head, surveying his surroundings and probing with quiet care.
Beside him, Qing Kui produced a Cosmos Map and cross-referenced their location, trying to determine exactly where they were. After a moment, his eyes went wide, his face filled with shock.
Su Yingxue, standing next to him, turned in puzzlement. "What is it?"
Qing Kui looked up, staring blankly at her, and murmured, "There's no marking for this great domain on the Cosmos Map!"
Su Yingxue paused for a heartbeat, then exclaimed softly, "Really?"
Yue He, Gray Bone, and the others turned to look as well, their eyes full of astonishment.
"What does that mean?" Duan Hongchen asked, confused. The Great Emperors all wore similar expressions, not understanding why the others looked so shocked.
Though the Great Emperors from the Star Boundary had been brought by Yang Kai to Void Land for years, they had spent the whole time secluded in cultivation. Having only recently advanced to the Sixth Order, their knowledge of matters beyond the cosmos was limited — they had no idea what it signified for a great domain to have no marking on the Cosmos Map.
Even Yang Kai wasn't entirely certain, though a faint conjecture stirred in his mind.
Yue He and the others also took out their own Cosmos Maps and checked. Indeed, just as Qing Kui had said, there were no markings whatsoever for this great domain, and their current position couldn't be pinpointed at all.
One had to understand that even the remote frontier great domain where the Star Boundary was located bore markings on the Cosmos Map — albeit labeled only as "Nameless Domain" due to its desolation and remoteness. That spoke to the authority and accuracy of the Cosmos Map.
The Cosmos Map encompassed every known great domain, without exception.
The fact that this great domain had no markings whatsoever left only one possibility.
"This is a great domain that has never been discovered before!" Qing Kui declared, his voice brimming with excitement.
The Great Emperor Hong Chen and the others froze for a moment, then grasped the profound implications of Qing Kui's words. "A new great domain?" they blurted out.
Qing Kui nodded again and again. "A new great domain!"
A new great domain meant resources at their fingertips, meant unimaginable wealth. It was easily foreseeable that once word of this place spread, it would send shockwaves through the entire cosmos!
"How can there still be new great domains?" the Beast Martial Great Emperor frowned. Just moments ago, Qing Kui had told them that in ancient times, each great domain existed in isolation, and everyone believed their own domain was the entirety of the cosmos. It was only after the ancient powerhouses opened domain gate after domain gate that the many great domains became interconnected, forming what was now known as the Three Thousand Worlds.
But after all this time, virtually every great domain had been discovered. How could there possibly be new ones?
