Chapter 4580: Cast Out

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,046 words

Since the Iron Blood Great Emperor's promotion, Void Land had gradually added six new Sixth-Order cultivators. Although they had all just broken through and couldn't display the full might of Sixth-Order Open Heaven, two against one shouldn't end in too humiliating a defeat.

As long as Zuo Quanhui had no more than four uncommitted Sixth-Order cultivators, their side could handle it. The problem was that concealing their strength further was no longer possible.

Sixth-Order Open Heaven cultivators weren't exactly a dime a dozen. Yang Kai estimated that Zuo Quanhui couldn't have too many Sixth-Order cultivators left in reserve. In other words, with Void Land's current strength, they could still hold their own.

Moments later, another volley of streaking lights shot out from the Heavenly Sword Palace and hurtled toward the battlefield. The two leading figures were none other than Sixth-Order Open Heaven cultivators.

Yang Kai focused his vision and squinted. When he made out one of their faces, he froze. The man's body radiated unmistakable demonic energy — it was Pei Wenxuan of Myriad Demons Heaven!

What was this guy doing here? Was it on Myriad Demons Heaven's orders, or had he acted on his own initiative? If it was the former, the situation for Void Land would be dire. Myriad Demons Heaven was one of the Thirty-Six Cave Heavens — how could Void Land possibly withstand the wrath of such a colossal power?

If Myriad Demons Heaven truly intervened, Yang Kai would immediately recall everyone and flee back to Void Land, sheltering under Bixi's turtle shell until the storm passed.

However, Yang Kai didn't spot many Myriad Demons Heaven disciples among the new batch of Open Heaven cultivators — three or five at most. That discovery put him at ease. It seemed Pei Wenxuan's involvement in the conflict between Void Land and the Heavenly Sword Alliance wasn't sanctioned by Myriad Demons Heaven. Otherwise, they would never have sent so few. This was probably just his own doing.

Riding alongside Pei Wenxuan was naturally Luan Baifeng.

The moment Yang Kai spotted her, their communication beads stirred. He pulled his out to check and immediately grasped the message Luan Baifeng had sent:

All elites deployed. Luring the snake from its hole. Be careful!

Yang Kai calmly tucked the communication bead away and turned to look at the Iron Blood Great Emperor. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly sensed two powerful forces surging out of thin air. He jerked his head up and saw two streaks of light hurtling through the void from the distance, approaching at tremendous speed.

Sensing the aura of these two forces, Yang Kai's expression turned peculiar, and he swallowed the words that had been on his lips.

The pair who had suddenly appeared swept across the vast void like two sharp blades, charging straight for the formation led by Pei Wenxuan and Luan Baifeng. Their momentum was staggering!

Having received Zuo Quanhui's instructions, Pei Wenxuan and Luan Baifeng were preparing to lead their forces into the battle, applying pressure on Void Land to force Yang Kai into action and create an opening for Zuo Quanhui. Who would have thought that two more Sixth-Order cultivators would materialize out of nowhere halfway there, heading straight for them?

Sensing the newcomers' overwhelming power, Pei Wenxuan had no time to ponder who they were or where they had come from. Together with Luan Baifeng, he unleashed his techniques forward without hesitation.

The two attackers neither dodged nor evaded. Moreover, they seemed capable of executing a combined technique — their two figures rapidly crisscrossing left and right, their World Forces merging into a Grand Prime Yin-Yang Diagram that expanded with violent force, engulfing the entire force led by Pei Wenxuan and Luan Baifeng.

In the next instant, the Grand Prime Yin-Yang Diagram began spinning at ferocious speed, like a massive millstone grinding the void to dust.

World Forces surged wildly. Piercing screams echoed from within.

On the shattered Spirit Continent, the crowd watched in stunned silence. The Iron Blood Great Emperor and the others, who had been itching to join the fight moments ago, now stared at the sudden turn of events on the battlefield in a cold sweat, silently wondering what would happen if they were caught inside such a technique.

Death was certainly out of the question — it wasn't that easy for a Sixth-Order Open Heaven cultivator to die — but sustaining injuries was a foregone conclusion.

"Who are those people?" the Iron Blood Great Emperor turned to ask Yang Kai.

Yang Kai hesitated. "They should be from Yin Yang Heaven."

"Did you invite them?" the Red Dust Great Emperor asked. The pair had burst onto the scene without any prior warning, and Yang Kai had never mentioned it to any of them.

Yang Kai shook his head. "I had no idea either."

He truly hadn't known. If those two hadn't taken action on their own, he wouldn't even have been aware they had come. It seemed Lord Xu Ling hadn't entirely left him to fend for himself after all. The identity of Yin Yang Heaven's son-in-law did have its uses after all.

"So should we still join the fight?" the Iron Blood Great Emperor asked, looking at Yang Kai with eager eyes.

"Not for now." Yang Kai waved his hand. "Keep concealing yourselves."

The many Great Emperors looked thoroughly disappointed. They had been promoted to Sixth-Order only recently and still hadn't had a proper chance to gauge whether the power of the Open Heaven realm was truly formidable. They had thought this battle would be their opportunity, only for Yin Yang Heaven's people to swoop in and steal it from under their noses.

For a moment, they didn't know whether to thank them or resent them.

A massive burst of energy erupted. The Grand Prime Yin-Yang Diagram that had been crushing the vast void suddenly shattered apart, and figure after figure scrambled out in disarray.

Originally, Pei Wenxuan and Luan Baifeng had brought at least forty or fifty Open Heaven cultivators out of the Heavenly Sword Palace. Now only a little over half survived. The rest had been obliterated — not even ashes remained. Nearly all the survivors bore injuries, with only those of Fifth-Order and above in somewhat better shape.
