No matter how much Yang Kai tried to persuade her, Yue He wouldn't be swayed. He had no choice but to give up, letting out a soft sigh. "Fine then. Given how dangerous this trip will be, it'll just be the three of us — you, me, and Old Bai."
Yue He asked, "What about Mo Mei?"
"The Void Land needs someone to hold the fort. Mo Mei can't leave, and there's no need to inform anyone else. I'll write her a letter beforehand to explain the situation."
This trip to the Shattered Heaven wasn't the kind of problem that could be solved by bringing more people. Whoever was behind this — the mastermind trying to lure him out — would surely be well prepared. The Void Land's current strength probably wouldn't amount to much in their eyes. Bringing too large a force would also make it easy to expose themselves. With just three people, it would be far easier to conceal their movements.
In the back of his mind, Yang Kai wasn't optimistic about how this trip would turn out. If he really brought everyone from the Void Land and something went wrong, the Void Land would truly be finished — hundreds of thousands of Disciples would be left homeless, wandering aimlessly.
On the other hand, if he left Mo Mei and the others behind, even if something happened to him, the Void Land's current scale and its largely established star city meant it would still have the capacity to continue growing and surviving.
Yue He considered this for a moment, then gave a gentle nod.
Yang Kai then summoned Bian Yuqing and gave her a set of secret instructions.
Several days later, the Star Luo Qiankun Pill was finally successfully refined. Mo Mei delivered the Tianyuan Zhengyin Pill formula and ten portions of Heaven and Earth Source Liquid that Yang Kai had prepared to the alchemist, retrieved the Star Luo Qiankun Pill, and personally brought it back to the Void Land.
With Yue He standing guard, Old Bai took the Star Luo Qiankun Pill. After a full day, the Small World that had been trembling ceaselessly finally stabilized, with no further risk of collapse. All that remained was a slow recovery.
Everything was in order. Fearing that delay would only bring more trouble, Yang Kai set out immediately.
At the Void Transport Hub, a burly man led a group of people striding forward. The Disciples manning the hub spotted them and hurried over, cupping their fists in greeting. "Lord Wei, are you heading out?"
Though the man who had arrived was only a Third-Order Open Heaven cultivator, the Disciples guarding the hub all recognized him — this was someone they had been specifically instructed to look after. He was Wei Que of the Great Moon Province.
It seemed the Sect Master had some connection to the Great Moon Province.
Wei Que chuckled. "Business has been good lately. I'm bringing some people back to the Sect to pick up merchandise. Sorry for the trouble, brothers."
"No need to be modest, Lord Wei." The Disciple nodded politely, led a few others over to do a cursory inspection, and then waved them through.
Once past the hub, Wei Que immediately produced a tall ship. He and a few Great Moon Province Disciples boarded and departed, heading off in a particular direction. It wasn't until half a day later, while sitting inside a cabin on the ship, that Wei Que reached to his waist, removed a small pouch, gave it a light pat, and said in a low voice, "Sect Master Yang, we've traveled half a day already."
The moment he finished speaking, the pouch's mouth suddenly opened and three figures materialized in front of Wei Que — none other than Yang Kai, Yue He, and Old Bai.
Old Bai, still recovering from his grievous injuries, gave a light cough.
Yang Kai put away the Ruyi Pouch and cupped his fists. "Many thanks, Senior Wei."
Wei Que replied, "No need for thanks, Sect Master Yang. The Void Land has shown tremendous kindness to our Great Moon Province. What I've done is a trifle — hardly enough to repay even a fraction of that debt."
He paused briefly, then continued, "I'm a straightforward man, and though I don't know why you're doing this, Sect Master Yang, I imagine you must be setting out to handle something of great importance. If there's ever anything the Great Moon Province can do, don't hesitate to ask!"
When Yang Kai had suddenly come to him and asked to be quietly smuggled out of the Void Land, Wei Que had immediately sensed this was no trivial matter.
The Void Land was Yang Kai's domain. For its master to need to slip in and out under cover of secrecy meant he suspected there were eyes watching both inside and outside the Void Land — hence all the secrecy.
If the Void Land, with its current strength, still needed to be this cautious, then just how powerful must the enemy be?
The Great Moon Province was merely a third-rate power — it really shouldn't be dragged into such murky waters. But Wei Que was a man who repaid kindness and avenged wrongs with perfect clarity. Even knowing the danger was extreme, he was willing to lend a hand.
Yang Kai said, "I appreciate Senior Wei's goodwill, but this is something no one else can help with. Thank you, Senior."
Wei Que sighed. "In that case, Sect Master Yang, do be careful. Don't let those scheming villains get their way!" He knew his own limits — with his meager strength, he truly couldn't contribute much, and he wouldn't force the issue.
After bidding Wei Que farewell, Yue He produced a small wooden shuttle. The three of them stepped inside and headed straight for a Domain Gate.
In just two days, the Domain Gate came into view.
Domain Gates connected the vast Great Domains, and they possessed an incredibly powerful pulling force. Without at least a Fifth-Order Open Heaven cultivation, one could not traverse a Domain Gate with one's physical body — doing so would be life-threatening.
Cultivators below the Fifth-Order who wished to pass through a Domain Gate had to rely on some kind of flight-type Artifact.
