His own Dao Seal had actually cracked!
How could Yang Kai not be alarmed? His face nearly turned green. After the Emperor Realm, the Dao Seal was a warrior's foundation — the seat of one's Dao, the crystallization of a lifetime's cultivation. If something went wrong with the Dao Seal, a warrior was finished.
Yang Kai had never imagined his Dao Seal would have problems. It had always been incredibly sturdy and stable, not to mention nourished by the Dao One Divine Water.
Yet the most unlikely thing had happened, for no apparent reason at all.
Yang Kai held his breath, not daring to breathe for a long while, his divine sense focused intently on the Dao Seal. He could see fine cracks spreading across its surface, yet he felt not the slightest discomfort. In fact, he felt refreshed and clear-headed.
What was going on?
After waiting a long while, the anomaly within the Dao Seal gradually subsided. Yang Kai tried channeling its power and found no obstruction at all — everything flowed even more smoothly than before. But those fine cracks were undeniably real, and showed no sign of healing.
Yang Kai was thoroughly baffled. Gathering his courage, he raised his hand and flicked his fingers, sending a streak of sword qi from his fingertips. The qi contained all five elements in harmony, each one generating the next in an endless cycle, its power immense.
The Indestructible Five Elements Sword Qi was a secret art Yang Kai had obtained a very long time ago. Cultivating it required consuming five-element resources, but the quality of resources available back then had been too low. As his cultivation grew, he had abandoned the technique.
The beauty of this secret art was its limitless potential — the stronger the five-element power used, the more devastating the Indestructible Five Elements Sword Qi became. The five-element forces Yang Kai had refined were all of superior quality now, so this sword qi was vastly different from what it had been back then.
The streak of sword qi darted through the sealed chamber, lingering for a long time without dissipating. One could imagine how troublesome it would be in combat.
Of course, Yang Kai hadn't unleashed the Indestructible Five Elements Sword Qi to test its power — he was examining his Dao Seal.
The Dao Seal felt perfectly fine.
Yang Kai frowned. He genuinely couldn't figure out what was going on. His path of cultivation had been largely self-taught, with no great master to guide him — most of the time he'd been groping forward in the dark. A worry gnawed at him: what if something really was wrong and he simply couldn't see it?
Uneasy, he opened the chamber and sent a message to Yue He, hoping to consult her. After all, Yue He was a sixth-grade Kaiyuan cultivator — perhaps she knew something.
To his surprise, the message went out but received no reply for a long while. He tried messaging Lu Xue next, and got no response either.
Yue He and Lu Xue were the two most powerful Kaiyuan cultivators in Void Land at present — one sixth-grade, one fifth-grade. There was nothing major happening in Void Land right now, so why wouldn't they reply? Unless they weren't in Void Land at all!
Yang Kai's heart skipped a beat. Had something happened in Void Land while he was in seclusion? Forget the Dao Seal for now — he rushed out and sent a message to Bian Yuqing.
Fortunately, Bian Yuqing replied quickly.
When they met, Yang Kai asked urgently, "Second Steward, what happened in Void Land? Why aren't Yue He and Lu Xue around?"
Bian Yuqing smiled. "Sect Master, don't worry. Something has happened in Void Land, but it's good news."
Yang Kai raised an eyebrow. "What good news?"
Bian Yuqing pointed beyond the sky. "The people from Dingfeng City have gone to undergo their Kaiyuan breakthrough. There are quite a few of them, and it's a significant matter, so the Kaiyuan Realm cultivators in Void Land are all out there providing protection."
"Oh?" Yang Kai's face lit up with joy, and his tension eased. He had just sent messages to Yue He and Lu Xue without receiving any reply, and had feared some catastrophe had befallen Void Land. Now he learned they had simply gone to guard the Dingfeng City cultivators.
He silently calculated the time. His seclusion to refine the Metal Element Inner Pill had lasted roughly three months — not too long, but not short either. During those months, the people from Dingfeng City should have grown accustomed to the outside world and prepared themselves for the Kaiyuan breakthrough.
His spirits lifted. He left behind a single sentence: "I'll go take a look too."
In a flash, he departed Void Land, activated the Nine Heavens Grand Array, and arrived alone in the void beyond.
The people from Dingfeng City had chosen to undergo their breakthrough outside Void Land mainly because a failed attempt might damage the territory. This was, after all, where they would be living from now on — better safe than sorry.
Advancing to Kaiyuan didn't require much from the surrounding environment. It could be done in a place rich with spiritual energy or in the void — what mattered was one's own foundation. Yue He and the others had naturally let them decide.
Outside Void Land, Yue He, Lu Xue, Chen Tianfei, and even Guo Ziyan had come, stationed at the four corners of a vast expanse of void. Mo Mei, Pang Duo, and the others sat cross-legged, spaced roughly ten li apart, their auras surging powerfully.
There were only nine of them. Presumably, apart from Mo Mei the City Lord, the four elders including Pang Duo, and the four stewards who had condensed fifth-grade power, there was no one else.
Beyond them, even more warriors had gathered in a separate area.
When Yang Kai arrived, Mo Mei and the others had reached the critical moment of their Kaiyuan breakthrough. Even from a distance, Yang Kai could clearly feel the might of heaven and earth radiating from their bodies.
He had once witnessed Old Bai's breakthrough to the Kaiyuan Realm, but that had been just one person. Now, with nine people breaking through together, the spectacle was breathtaking. Across the entire Three Thousand Worlds, only Void Land could produce such a wondrous sight.
No other sect could possibly find so many disciples on the verge of Kaiyuan breakthrough all at once.
Yang Kai watched for a while, feeling that Mo Mei and the others should have no major issues advancing, though he couldn't be certain. He flashed over to Yue He's side.
