Chapter 4211. I Challenge You

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,053 words

"Zhuo Zhao and You Ying are natural antagonists, incompatible as fire and water. For countless ages they have fought without cease, and those several Great Domains were destroyed by the aftershocks of their battles." The proprietress spoke at a leisurely pace. "Many of the factions and Universe Worlds that once existed within those Great Domains were utterly annihilated as well."

Yang Kai drew in a sharp breath. How violent must those clashes have been to wipe out everything across several Great Domines? But if these two were indeed the Ancestors of the Holy Spirits, they were certainly capable of it.

The corner of his mouth twitched involuntarily. "Proprietress, the Yin and Yang forces you mentioned—could they be referring to these two?"

The proprietress nodded. "Exactly. They themselves are the purest Yin and Yang born from the Primordial Chaos. The power contained within their bodies is of an extraordinarily high grade—peak Ninth Grade at the very least. It fully meets your requirements."

Yang Kai said with no enthusiasm, "I have no interest in dying." What kind of joke was that? The aftershocks of their battles could annihilate everything across multiple Great Domains. If a mere Emperor Realm like him dared approach, he would be obliterated on the spot.

The proprietress giggled softly. "At least you know your own limits!" She paused, then added, "But then again, whether Zhuo Zhao and You Ying truly exist, I'm not entirely sure. These are things I heard from others. Those several Great Domains, however, are indisputably forbidden zones of life. No matter how high your cultivation—be it Seventh Grade or Eighth Grade Open Heaven—if you dare set foot in those domains, you are never heard from again."

A chill settled in Yang Kai's heart. He committed the locations of those domains to memory, secretly vowing that no matter what, he would never enter them.

"Are there no other options?" Yang Kai pressed, unwilling to give up.

The proprietress pondered for a long while before finally saying, "Wait half a year. In half a year there may be an opportunity—though it's only an opportunity, nothing certain."

Yang Kai's eyes brightened. "What opportunity?"

The proprietress shook her head gently. "I can't confirm it yet. Once the details are settled, I'll tell you. There's no point discussing it now, and circumstances may still change."

Since she wouldn't say more, Yang Kai couldn't press further. He could only set his questions aside. It wasn't as if he had anything pressing to attend to recently, so he nodded in agreement.

Just then, a sharp feminine cry rang in from outside: "Where is Yang Kai? Get out here!"

Yang Kai froze. The voice was clearly that of a woman, but he found it utterly unfamiliar—a stranger he had never met. Why would someone he didn't know come looking for him? He was filled with confusion.

The proprietress tilted her head toward him and teased, "Brat, don't tell me you've left some romantic entanglement behind somewhere?"

"Proprietress, you can eat indiscriminately, but you can't speak carelessly," Yang Kai replied with a perfectly straight face. "I've always conducted myself with the utmost propriety. How could I possibly have any romantic debts?"

"Oh really?" The proprietress wore an expression of complete disbelief. She extended her spiritual sense outside and showed a look of surprise. "Why is it her?"

"Who?" Yang Kai asked.

"Go see for yourself. If you've gotten involved with her, you're probably in for some trouble." The proprietress had a look of gleeful schadenfreude on her face as she slowly closed her lovely eyes and gently waved her round fan, the very picture of someone who wanted nothing to do with the matter.

Yang Kai winced, feeling like he had a toothache, and could only push the door open and walk out. Before he even reached the main hall, he heard the woman shout again: "Where is Yang Kai? Come out this instant!"

In the main hall, the numerous warriors drinking wine watched the woman with great interest.

Guo Ziyan and the others glared at her with fury. Though this woman was tall in stature and only at the Emperor Realm, she showed not the slightest fear even in the presence of Open Heaven cultivators. And in a place like the First Inn, she was bold enough to shout and cause a scene, treating everyone with utter disregard—one had to admit, she had considerable nerve.

From the inner hall, Yang Kai strode out.

The moment she caught sight of Yang Kai, the woman's beautiful eyes locked onto him like a hawk's, an infinite fighting intent radiating from her entire being. Her aura climbed tier by tier, and her lustrous black hair billowed without wind, writhing like serpents.

"I've waited over ten years for you to finally show yourself," the woman said through gritted teeth, her beautiful eyes brimming with complicated emotions—filled with what seemed like accusations born of blood and tears.

Countless gazes swung toward Yang Kai in unison. The woman's words seemed to conceal a wealth of stories.

Yang Kai tilted his head, regarding her.

The woman continued, "Back then you simply walked away, thinking you could dodge everything like that?"

At those words, many people immediately cast looks of contempt at Yang Kai. Some had already conjured in their minds a scene where Yang Kai and this woman had been deeply involved, blazing with passion, only for Yang Kai to abandon her in the end.

Yue He covered her red lips and asked, "Young Master, this lady is..."

"That's not what you think," Yang Kai said, somewhat exasperated. He stared fixedly at the woman and frowned. "Though it's rather embarrassing, I have to ask—just who are you?"

The contemptuous looks instantly turned to disdainful spurning!

The woman also froze for a moment. Her aura, which had climbed to its peak, collapsed as if crushed under a mountain, and a glacial killing intent surfaced on her beautiful face. "You've forgotten who I am?"

Yang Kai looked awkward. "You seem familiar... but I can't quite place it. Could you give me a hint?"

Crack. The woman's slender fists clenched tight, her silver teeth grinding audibly. She enunciated every word: "Asura Arena—Jade Rakshasa!"

The main hall erupted in an uproar. Someone exclaimed, "What? She's the Jade Rakshasa who ranks first on the Asura Arena's Earth Ranking?"
