Chapter 3578: Bei Limo's Fury

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,048 words

The moment Huo Lun finished speaking, the fragments that had been swallowed in did indeed dissolve rapidly, as if this world were truly digesting them. In the blink of an eye, the enormous fragment had shrunk by a full size, and as the continental fragment continued to descend, its volume shrank at a pace visible to the naked eye.

But after only a brief moment, Huo Lun's jaw dropped wide enough to fit a fist inside.

Because the continental fragment hadn't dissolved completely—part of it remained, and that part, no matter how he looked at it, resembled…a city!

A city? Huo Lun could hardly believe his eyes. Over the past year or so, he had grown thoroughly accustomed to this spectacle. Aside from the very first time, when he'd actually reaped some rewards and gathered quite a few good things, everything else had been largely the same. But a city appearing here—this was an absolute first.

Just as he was wondering whether his eyes were playing tricks on him, a dense swarm of tiny black dots suddenly flew out from the city. Huo Lun strained his eyes and looked closely—those black dots were actually Demon Race cultivators, each one possessing considerable strength!

These Demon Race beings had clearly been living in that city. Caught off guard by this sudden upheaval, they were all in a state of panic, flying out of the city to investigate. When they saw their long-established city floating in midair and drifting slowly downward, they erupted in shouts and cries. The distance was too great for Huo Lun to make out what they were saying, but he could clearly see the terror on their faces and the frantic gestures they made.

More and more black dots poured from the city, so dense they turned the sky into what looked like a swarm of locusts. Yet even more Demon Race beings—those too weak to fly—remained inside, rushing about and raising alarms as though the end of days had arrived, drowning in panic.

"What's going on?" Huo Lun's face had gone pale as he murmured to himself.

A city of this size, even by the standards of the entire Demon Domain, would be considered no small settlement. But how had such a city been swallowed into this place? And where had this city come from in the first place?

Changtian still stood there, his figure motionless, his expression as calm as an ancient well. Only his eyes shimmered with brilliant light, betraying a hint of excitement.

Moments later, the city settled gently onto the ground, as if an invisible hand cradled its base and set it down with care. Aside from a slight tremor and the collapse of a few buildings, the city had sustained remarkably little damage.

From this day forward, a Demon Race city had been added to that distant plain…

The sky split open with yet another fissure, and a continental fragment slowly emerged from the crack.

Then another fissure…

In the span of barely half an hour, the cracks in the sky had become too numerous to count. Continental fragments continued to be devoured through those rifts without pause, and from time to time, the massive silhouettes of entire cities drifted down as well.

The world was undergoing silent, profound changes.

Outside the Small Mysterious Realm, in the void, Bo Ya gazed ahead with a ashen face, a chill seeping through every inch of his body.

Not everyone could witness an intact continent being slowly devoured before their eyes. The space left behind after the consumption was pure nothingness, swallowed back into chaos. Void currents whipped up storms and tempests within that abyss—even as a Half-Saint, he could still feel the lethal danger within. If one were swept in, there was a good chance of being lost forever, never finding the way back.

A madman—the guy was an absolute madman!

Bo Ya turned his head, his eye twitching as he stared at Yang Kai. He never could have imagined this man would be so deranged as to reduce an entire continent to such ruin in so short a time.

The Heavenly Martial Continent was effectively destroyed. Even if the devouring were to stop right now, the continent could never return to what it had been. One could even say that because a portion had been consumed, forming a void in its wake, the Heavenly Martial Continent would sooner or later collapse entirely under the influence of that nothingness.

He kept relaying the situation here to Bei Limo, who was racing toward them at full speed. The Saint Venerable hadn't responded, but Bo Ya could still sense the towering fury building within her.

This guy was dead meat!

Picking a fight on the Saint Venerable's own turf—she would tear him to pieces without a shred of mercy. At that thought, Bo Ya cast a glance at Yang Kai, half in pity and half with a secret thrill of anticipation.

If the Saint Venerable were truly furious enough to kill Yang Kai, wouldn't it be even better if he got to do the job himself? He could seize the Great Emperor's fortune on Yang Kai's person in the process—ascension to Demon Saint would be just around the corner!

One day later, roughly one-fifth of the entire Heavenly Martial Continent had been devoured. The once-complete landmass looked like a flatbread with an enormous bite taken out of it. Only now did the realm gate behind Yang Kai and Bo Ya finally ripple with energy, and moments later, Bei Limo materialized not far away.

Having rushed nonstop, she had finally arrived.

Her phoenix eyes swept the scene, immediately taking in the boundless void. Sensing the eerie aura radiating from that land of nothingness, Bei Limo's expression shifted subtly.

Gazing further into the distance, she could just make out a colossal, rolling mass prowling along the edges of the Heavenly Martial Continent. Wherever it passed, the continent's surface area continued to shrink. It was easy to imagine that before long, this behemoth would have devoured the Heavenly Martial Continent entirely, leaving nothing but empty void in its wake.

"Yang Kai, you're courting death!" Bei Limo snarled through gritted teeth, spinning to glare at Yang Kai, her killing intent so dense it had nearly solidified into something tangible.
