Chapter 3494: The Cold Ice Prison

Indeed, just as that female Demon King had said, this man's body was somewhat absurdly robust — his muscles were solid and dense, his bones incomparably tough. That body alone was comparable to the finest Demon Treasures, and what flowed through his veins was golden blood, brimming with vitality and vigor, possessing extraordinary regenerative power.

What shocked Bei Limo even more was that she actually sensed an indescribable divine quality from the blood within Yang Kai's body. Her beautiful eyes grew solemn as she studied his face, as though struck by a sudden thought. She reached out, seized one of his fingers, and lightly drew her fingertip across it. A drop of golden blood immediately welled up.

Bei Limo dipped a finger into the blood and brought it to her mouth, tasting it. Her expression shifted to one of shock. "Sacred Spirit blood!"

This kid actually carried the bloodline of a Sacred Spirit? And judging by the taste of this blood and the energy contained within it, this was an extraordinarily high-ranking one — perhaps even something along the lines of a Dragon or Phoenix!

Bei Limo couldn't help but marvel, but this discovery also put her completely at ease. If Yang Kai's blood possessed such powerful vitality and restorative ability, then this kind of injury was truly no great threat to him. Even without spirit medicines or pills, it wouldn't take long for him to recover.

"Holy Sovereign, this boy is far too insolent. Shall I kill him?" The female Demon King looked up at Bei Limo and asked gravely.

Bei Limo cast her a languid glance. "You want to kill him? Go ahead — but he's Yu Rumeng's man. If you kill him, even I won't be able to protect you."

The female Demon King's face changed upon hearing this, and she stared at Yang Kai with utter disbelief. This man was actually Yu Rumeng's lover? If those words hadn't come straight from Bei Limo's mouth, she never would have believed it.

The other female Demon Kings were equally stunned, as though they had just heard some earth-shattering piece of gossip.

Bei Limo pondered for a moment, then suddenly turned and ordered, "Throw him into the Ice Prison. Keep him under strict watch. Tell him that the moment he shows genuine remorse, that's when I'll consider letting him out."

Though she had injured and knocked Yang Kai unconscious this time around, in the end it was she herself who had come off looking somewhat worse for wear. That was a bitter pill she simply could not swallow — not unless Yang Kai offered a truly sincere apology.

The moment the other female Demon Kings heard the words "Ice Prison," their expressions changed in unison. Clearly, that was no pleasant place. Beyond that, Bei Limo had also tapped a few pressure points on Yang Kai's body while speaking.

Watching this, the female Demon Kings regarded Yang Kai with undisguised pity. Of all the people to provoke, he had to go and anger the Holy Sovereign. He was in for a rough time.

Bei Limo waved her hand, and only then did the female Demon King seize Yang Kai by the neck and carry him out.

Ten miles from the Proud Snow Ice Palace, Yin, Tuqialo, and Baza stood craning their necks, gazing toward the palace. The sight of Boya rushing out and vanishing in a flash of lightning moments ago had struck them as deeply strange. They had no idea what Yang Kai had encountered inside, but there was nothing they could do. Ten thousand people was no small force, yet none of them had the nerve to storm the Proud Snow Ice Palace.

Yang Kai had now been inside for one or two hours and still had not returned. Still, it was certain that his life was not in danger — otherwise, Tuqialo and Baza would already be dead. Their lives were bound to Yang Kai's now; if anything happened to him, they couldn't escape either.

Yin, though weighed down with worry, was at least somewhat more composed.

Just then, everyone suddenly noticed a massive contingent pouring out from the Ice Palace, charging toward them with menacing intent. At the helm were several female Demon Kings, all at the upper tier of their cultivation, each mounted on a different species of demonic beast, clad in resplendent armor and radiating an imposing air.

Behind them followed several thousand Demon Race soldiers.

This spectacle threw Yang Kai's people into a panic. Even Yin, Tuqialo, and Baza's faces changed. Though they didn't serve directly under Bei Limo, they knew her elite guard was called the Proud Snow Ice Guard — every single one a battle-hardened Demon Race warrior equipped with exceptional gear and trained in highly specialized cultivation techniques. Fighting at full capacity, each could hold off three or five opponents of equal rank with ease. Deployed in formation, they could sweep aside forces ten times their number.

The Demon Race warriors charging out of the Ice Palace were unmistakably the legendary Proud Snow Ice Guard. Though outnumbered compared to the assembled host, their sheer momentum completely overwhelmed the combined forces of Cloud Shadow and Blue Plains. The crowd rippled with disorder.

The Proud Snow Ice Guard surged to the fore, then halted in perfect unison, moving as a single entity. Every warrior wore an arrogant, mocking expression as they regarded the army before them.

The female Demon King at the front raised her hand and barked, "Surround them!"

At her command, several thousand troops fanned out left and right, forming an encirclement. In fewer than a dozen breaths, they had surrounded the ten thousand-strong army completely.

In this moment of mortal peril, Yin and the others tensed up. Without any orders needed, the ten thousand Demon Race warriors turned to face the encirclement, every one wearing a grim expression. A battle of life and death seemed moments from erupting.

Tuqialo and the other Demon Kings involuntarily swallowed hard, knowing that once fighting broke out today, all ten thousand of them would likely perish on this spot. What on earth had His Majesty done inside the Ice Palace to provoke the Proud Snow Ice Guard?

The one saving grace was that though the Ice Guard had surrounded them so tightly that not even a drop of water could slip through, they showed no signs of launching an attack. It seemed they meant only to keep them penned in here.
