Chapter 3417. Does It Feel Good?

January 17, 2020 · 6 min read · 1,148 words

The wind howled, sand and dust swirled into the air, and the atmosphere was bleak and grim.

The demon army had returned in force, and this time the scale was far larger than a few days ago. The ranks were thicker, the numbers greater. The dense mass of troops surged forward like an unstoppable torrent of iron, determined to grind Tiger Roar City to dust.

Every martial artist in the city had been mobilized, but the staggering disparity in numbers, combined with the city's open and defenseless state, left everyone with a gnawing sense of unease. Panic simmered beneath the surface, and fear gripped hearts before a single blow had been struck.

All eyes focused on one person.

That person stood atop the highest point of the city wall, facing the direction of the demon army. The wind gusted against him, setting his robes snapping and billowing.

It was this very person who had turned the tide in the battle a few days ago, who had propped up a crumbling wall on the verge of collapse. It was this person who had led the martial artists of Tiger Roar City to victory against the demons in the last war, fighting at the front, setting an example by his own actions, slaying countless enemies.

Without this figure standing tall, the tens of thousands of martial artists in Tiger Roar City would have had zero fighting spirit right now. But even so, even with that silhouette planted firmly at the highest point where everyone could see him clearly, it could not bring much sense of security.

All the Emperor Realm cultivators were rushing about, rallying troops, desperately trying to hold together morale that could shatter at any moment.

A rumbling sound like muffled thunder rolled up from beneath the earth, crushing over everyone's hearts and imposing an enormous psychological pressure. It was the sound of the demon army bearing down on Tiger Roar City — a million soldiers marching, enough to make the ground tremble.

The martial artists of Tiger Roar City began to stir restlessly. Already unstable hearts descended into even deeper chaos.

The demon army was now only fifty li away. At that distance, a single charge could bring them to the city gates.

Just then, Yang Kai let out a long, piercing cry that boomed like thunder and shot skyward. Mid-flight, he banked sharply and charged straight toward the demon army.

A wave of gasps erupted. Every martial artist in Tiger Roar City stared in disbelief at that lone figure charging forward, unable to fathom what he was doing. This was war, not a one-on-one duel. No matter how powerful an individual was, how could they stand against a million soldiers? Once surrounded, exhaustion would be the moment of death. Perhaps only a Pseudo-Emperor-level powerhouse could move freely in and out of such a situation.

Yang Kai was clearly not a Pseudo-Emperor. He was merely at the second level of the Emperor Realm.

Not only the martial artists of Tiger Roar City broke into a cold sweat — even Li Jiao and Gao Xueting clenched their fists involuntarily, worry gnawing at them from within. Yang Kai had only told them before that he had found reinforcements, but where those reinforcements were, and how many there were, they had not the slightest idea. Now seeing Yang Kai charge out to meet the enemy head-on, their concern for his safety naturally spiked.

In the current Tiger Roar City, Yang Kai was the banner around which everyone rallied. If he fell, the city would instantly face collapse. At that point, forget a million demons — even a hundred thousand would be enough to devour Tiger Roar City completely.

But right now, there was nothing they could do except watch and pray.

Yang Kai charging out so brazenly did not go unnoticed by the demon army. From the dense mass of troops, a squad of over a thousand quickly peeled off to intercept, led by a Demon King.

That Demon King wore a revealing outfit — her upper body was covered by little more than a band across her chest, and while she wore a long skirt below, the slit ran all the way up to her inner thigh, offering tantalizing glimpses of the legs beneath. Exquisite collarbones, a flat belly, long shapely limbs — all laid bare. Her figure was explosively alluring, her heaving chest rising like twin peaks, and across her snow-white, flawless skin ran intricate patterns that gave her an untamed, feral air.

One look and Yang Kai knew — this Demon King was a Succubus.

Several li apart, the Succubus flashed Yang Kai a smile and pointed one delicate finger forward. The thousand-plus demons swarmed toward him.

Spatial laws surged. Yang Kai's expression turned grave, and he threw a thunderous punch straight ahead.

No terrifying burst of power erupted, no violent wave of energy exploded outward. But as his punch landed, a tiny black dot suddenly appeared in the center of the demon formation.

The dot was no bigger than a sesame seed when it first formed, but in the blink of an eye it expanded rapidly, detonating outward into a black hole more than ten zhang in diameter. An incomprehensibly terrifying pulling force surged from the abyss. The nearby demons, caught completely off guard, were sucked straight into the black hole and vanished without a trace. The remaining demons were similarly dragged toward it by the colossal gravitational pull, flailing wildly as they were swallowed whole.

Looking upon that scene, it was as though the entire world was collapsing into that single black hole — a sight of utter horror.

In the span of a single breath, over a thousand demons had disappeared completely, devoured by the black hole. The black hole appeared fast and vanished just as fast. Once every last demon had been cast into it, the hole flickered and ceased to exist.

The Succubus had not yet processed what had just happened. Her entire force had been annihilated.

The space before her blurred. Yang Kai, who had been several li away, appeared directly in front of her as if by magic — their faces practically inches apart. An aggressive, predatory aura bore down on her. The Succubus's beautiful face drained of color, and she let out a piercing shriek.

The scream was shrill and grating. An invisible force of Divine Sense, carried on the shriek, transformed into a sharp arrow and shot straight toward Yang Kai's spiritual sea.

The Succubus was a peculiar race even among the hundred demon clans of the Demon Realm. Their combat strength was not especially formidable, but their Divine Sense far exceeded that of cultivators at the same level. For that reason, one must never underestimate them simply because their cultivation was low — a Succubus who appeared completely powerless could, at any moment, deliver a lethal strike.
