Chapter 317: Letian Medicine Shop

"You… you want all of them?" The shopkeeper looked stunned, and even Biluo gazed at Yang Kai in confusion. "What do you need these for? You haven't even reached the Shenyou Realm."

"Don't worry about what's none of your business," Yang Kai replied coolly.

"Miss Biluo, this…" The shopkeeper turned to her for instructions.

"Didn't you hear? This gentleman wants everything, so just take it all out! Pack it up and deliver it to the Lord's residence. It's not like you'll lose any money." Biluo had taken her frustrations out on Yang Kai, and in the blink of an eye she redirected them all onto the shopkeeper.

"Yes, yes, yes!" The shopkeeper agreed repeatedly.

Although Biluo had a bad temper, she never tried to bully anyone in business. She always paid what was owed, so the shopkeeper wasn't worried about her running off without settling the bill.

But who was this young man? Biluo seemed to hold quite the grudge against him.

The shopkeeper's heart pounded nervously. He didn't dare dawdle and quickly packaged all the pills Yang Kai needed, sending an assistant to deliver them to the residence.

As the assistant walked past Biluo, he kept his head lowered, eyes fixed firmly on the tips of his own toes, not daring to glance at her even once.

Leaving the medicine shop, Yang Kai looked at Biluo, whether intentionally or not. "Quite a lot of men in this city are afraid of you."

"Hmph!" Biluo marched forward with her head held high, a look of arrogance and pride surfacing on her lovely face as she puffed out her chest. She said casually, "If they dare look at me, this lady will gouge their eyes right out!"

"That's a bit much," Yang Kai said with a frown. "Being pretty is meant for others to look at, isn't it? If nobody looked at you, what would be the point of being beautiful?"

"What do you know!" Biluo shot him a glare. "All you men have nothing but filthy, dirty thoughts in your heads. The moment you see a pretty woman, you start plotting wicked things. This lady doesn't want to be looked at that way!"

"Not every man is like that," Yang Kai protested.

Biluo looked him up and down, then suddenly said, "Well… you're not. At least when you look at me, you don't give off that lecherous look. I'll admit that. In that regard, you're better than most men."

"You flatter me, Miss Biluo," Yang Kai replied evenly.

"So now… where do you want to go next?" Biluo clasped her hands behind her back, her slender, delicate figure on full display. She sounded slightly impatient. "If you don't feel like shopping, I'm going back to the residence to cultivate."

"Of course I want to keep shopping. This Fragrant City doesn't have just one medicine shop, does it?"

"There are four or five. You still want to visit medicine shops?" Biluo looked at him in surprise. "Don't tell me you're going to buy more pills for nourishing the Divine Sense."

"Of course I am."

"Why buy so many? Do you even need them?" Biluo grumbled, then pouted. "Fine, fine, fine. I won't ask questions I shouldn't ask. If you want to go buy them, I'll take you."

Her eyes darted around, and she suddenly let out a little giggle before quickly putting on a serious face, clearing her throat casually, and walking ahead as if nothing had happened.

Fragrant City was sizable, but there weren't many medicine shops operating there. After all, anyone who sold pills on a large scale needed a powerful family backing them, and the financial resources, manpower, and materials involved were something smaller factions simply couldn't sustain.

In the entire city, there were only five medicine shops in total.

Biluo dutifully led the way. After spending half a day, they finally finished visiting the first four shops, sweeping clean all the pills that nourished the Divine Sense and fed the soul, before she led Yang Kai toward the fifth medicine shop.

Inside the Letian Medicine Shop, a young man in fitted clothes rushed up to the second floor and gently knocked on a door.

From inside came a thunderous shout: "Damn it, who is it?! I told you not to bother me unless something important comes up, didn't I? Kid, I'll twist your dog head off, I swear!"

"Young Master, it's about Miss Biluo." The young man in fitted clothes had been cursed out mercilessly but showed not a hint of resentment, replying respectfully.

Inside, there was an immediate thudding sound. It seemed the person inside had leaped to his feet and was charging over with footsteps that shook the ground.

On the first floor of the medicine shop, all the working assistants grimaced and looked up at the ceiling in terror, fearing their young master would stomp right through it.

With a creak, the door burst open and out charged a man who was broad-shouldered, thick-limbed, and immensely imposing, like a massive bear.

He wasn't particularly old—only in his early twenties. But his build was extraordinary, his physique unique. A full beard covered his face, giving him a thoroughly rugged appearance. Only his eyes were odd—small and narrow—which, paired with his massive frame, made him look oddly mismatched and vaguely sinister.

This was the young master of the family behind the Letian Medicine Shop: Le Yu.

The Le family was a major power in Fragrant City. The family head served as an elder of the city, assisting Shan Qingluo's lineage for over two hundred years—a legacy of significant contributions and tireless effort.

The Le family's main estate was not in Fragrant City but in a mountain villa a hundred miles outside it.

The only reason Le Yu stayed in the city's medicine shop was because of Biluo. Ever since he had happened to catch a glimpse of her a year ago, Le Yu had been utterly captivated, determined to bring her into his household.

Although Biluo's origins were modest—neither from a small refined family nor a great noble house—she was nonetheless Shan Qingluo's most trusted confidante. As such, the Le family was quite supportive of the pursuit, allowing Le Yu to remain in the city.

Unfortunately, in the span of a year, Le Yu had only managed to catch sight of Biluo a handful of times, and every encounter ended with her fleeing in panic.

Even Le Yu didn't dare casually barge into Shan Qingluo's residence. Each time Biluo darted inside, all he could do was stand there, wistful and helpless.
