"The treasure vault?" Yang Kai's heart stirred. Was this bewitching woman trying to lure him with profit?
His mind lectured himself that wealth could not corrupt him, but his mouth asked, "Is there anything good in this treasure vault?"
"Obviously!" Bi Luo shot him a glare. "Of course the Master's treasure vault is full of valuable things. The Master says your strength is too low, so you can go into her vault and find some cultivation materials to boost your power!"
"Then what are we waiting for?" Yang Kai urged.
Seeing how eager he seemed, Bi Luo looked down on him even more, silently cursing him as a country bumpkin who'd never seen anything of the world.
Although she was reluctant, whenever Shan Qingluo gave an order, Bi Luo carried it out without a single objection.
"Follow me," she said impatiently, then led the way.
They walked through the manor for a long while before arriving at a secluded wing. Inside, they went less than ten zhang before a massive, heavy door loomed before them.
The door appeared to be forged from some unknown material. It was clearly old, thick, and solid—obviously not something easily broken open.
Strangely, the door had no handle and no visible seams. It looked like a single piece that blended seamlessly into the walls on either side.
Bi Luo pulled a black rectangular object from her waist, her slender fingers rapidly forming seals as she poured her true yuan into it. After a moment, she pressed the rectangle flat against the door.
With a deep rumble, the massive door swung open.
Yang Kai looked around curiously and couldn't help but praise, "This place is certainly safe for storing things."
Bi Luo snorted softly and said with pride, "Naturally. The entire vault is forged from Crimson Xiao Black Gold. Even a peak Shenyou Realm expert wouldn't be able to crack it open in a short time. You could call this the safest place in the world."
Hearing her boast, Yang Kai didn't bother to argue—he just discreetly curled his lip.
When it came to safety, his Black Book's space was by far the most secure place there was.
"Come in!" Bi Luo stepped inside first, beckoning to Yang Kai.
Once both of them entered, the vault door sealed shut behind them.
Though the vault was enclosed, it wasn't dark at all. Pearlescent gems the size of pebbles studded the walls on all sides, casting a soft radiance that illuminated the entire space in a warm glow.
Inside, Bi Luo introduced the contents to Yang Kai with a flat expression. "That side is for gold, silver, and valuables. Over here are herbs. These are pills. Those are artifacts and weapons. And here are cultivation techniques and martial arts manuals... Anyway, go look for yourself. Don't bother me whether you find something or not!"
She seemed desperate to get rid of Yang Kai as quickly as possible.
Yang Kai pinched the bridge of his nose and frowned. "Miss Bi Luo, did your master say how many things I can take from here?"
Bi Luo let out a cold laugh, dripping with disdain. "How many do you think you deserve?"
"I'm just asking!"
Bi Luo's face darkened. "The Master said take as much as you can!"
"Oh." Hearing that, Yang Kai felt no reservations. He walked straight over to the pile of herbs and began searching through them.
Seeing that he showed absolutely no courtesy, Bi Luo couldn't help but mutter, "Hmph, what a bumpkin. I just can't understand why the Master treats him so well!"
As she spoke, she hurried over to the section with artifacts and, with practiced ease, pulled out a pair of exquisite earrings. The earrings were a deep blue, translucent and crystalline, looking like two teardrops.
Cradling them in her palms, Bi Luo's face broke into a radiant smile. She had no intention of letting them go.
On the other side, Yang Kai chuckled coldly to himself.
That bewitching woman Shan Qingluo had essentially confined him to her manor. Though she harbored no real malice, it still left a bitter taste. But letting him into the treasure vault was her mistake.
If Yang Kai wanted to, he could strip the entire vault bare. The Black Book's space was vastly larger than this place.
However, Yang Kai didn't want to reveal the secret of his Black Book's space, so he could only pick out the things that would actually be useful to him.
The Yang Liquid in his dantian needed replenishing. The energy stored within his Proud Bone Golden Body was no concern—the reserves were enormous, with no danger of running dry. It was only the Yang Liquid that kept dwindling.
He swept up every herb and pill with yang-attribute properties without exception, storing them all in his Black Book's space.
Herbs and pills that nourished the soul were also quite rare, so those couldn't be left behind either.
The Five-Colored Warm Spirit Lotus needed them to evolve, and his Divine Sense needed them to expand. He swept everything into the Black Book's space without mercy.
As for cultivation techniques and martial arts, Yang Kai wasn't particularly interested. He didn't need techniques, and the martial arts here were unlikely to be anything impressive.
What Yang Kai really wanted was a high-quality soul technique to cultivate.
Although his Divine Sense had been tempered long ago, without a proper soul technique, it had been of limited use—only handy for scanning his surroundings.
But after searching through the entire vault, he couldn't find a single decent soul technique. The one or two that existed were trash at earth grade or below. Yang Kai truly couldn't bring himself to bother with such low-tier techniques. Even if he cultivated them, they would serve no real purpose—nothing more than a waste of time.
