Yang Kai turned around once more with a grin, looking at Phoenix Luan. "Any other instructions, Madam?"
Phoenix Luan nearly ground her silver teeth to dust. "I really don't know what I owe you."
Yang Kai shook his head in a self-satisfied manner. "You're too kind, Madam. Helping others is the root of happiness, after all. But does this mean you're willing to lend a hand?"
Since her stance had softened, she naturally wouldn't refuse the matter. After all, she wasn't certain whether Zhang Ruoxi truly came from Ice Heart Valley, but with such things, it was better safe than sorry. Yang Kai had invoked Zhang Ruoxi's name, so Phoenix Luan had no choice but to help, no matter what.
She wasn't helping Yang Kai—she was helping the descendant of that Heavenly Punishment whom she dared not offend.
"A mere pair of Third-Stage Emperor Sovereigns? I can simply send a few Demon Kings. Why would I need to go myself?" Phoenix Luan said, looking displeased.
Yang Kai raised an eyebrow. "How wise of you, Madam! Then please, send seven or eight Demon Kings with me to the Northern Region to exterminate the Greedy!"
He had never expected Phoenix Luan to go herself from the very beginning. His original plan had always been for her to send a few Demon Kings, and now that she'd said this, it played right into his hands.
"Seven or eight..." Phoenix Luan rolled her eyes. "Keep dreaming!"
She only had so many Demon Kings to begin with. Yang Kai was asking for seven or eight in one breath—those who knew the situation would understand he was going to save Ice Heart Valley, but those who didn't would think he was setting out to conquer the world.
"Then four or five..." Yang Kai said with a grin.
Phoenix Luan didn't answer. Instead, a thoughtful expression crossed her face. After a long moment, she spoke. "Since this matter involves that person, it concerns the entire Ancient Domain. I alone cannot shoulder the responsibility. How about this—stay at the Phoenix Luo Palace for a few days. Within three days, I'll give you a satisfactory answer."
Upon hearing this, Yang Kai paused in thought, seeming to grasp something important. He smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Madam!"
After a brief pause, he said, "There's one more thing I need your help with."
"What is it?" Phoenix Luan immediately grew wary. The more she looked at Yang Kai, the more exasperated she became—anything out of his mouth was bound to be trouble.
Yang Kai said, "I'd like to construct a spatial formation within the Phoenix Luo Palace. Could you point me to a suitable location?"
"A spatial formation?" Phoenix Luan's delicate brows furrowed. "You actually know formation-setting?"
"A thing or two."
"Where would this spatial formation lead?" she asked, unconvinced.
"Back to Ice Heart Valley, of course," Yang Kai answered matter-of-factly. "The journey here took me a month. I can't very well make the return trip the same way—if I did, there wouldn't be enough time. So I want to build a spatial formation that leads directly to Ice Heart Valley."
"An inter-region spatial formation!" Phoenix Luan was genuinely shocked. "Can you really do that?"
One had to remember that this was the Eastern Region, while Ice Heart Valley was in the Northern Region. If Yang Kai wasn't just talking nonsense, then he truly possessed the ability to construct an inter-region spatial formation. That was no small feat. Every surviving inter-region spatial formation in the Star Realm was an ancient relic—nobody in the present age could build one.
"Madam Phoenix need only wait and see," Yang Kai said with a slight smile.
Phoenix Luan nodded faintly. "I'll permit this. Go find Tianlong—she'll make the arrangements for you."
"Thank you, Madam!"
With everything settled, Phoenix Lao called for Tianlong and instructed her to take Yang Kai to the same small tower where he had stayed before.
Back in the tower, Yang Kai told Elder Ban and Little Ling'er to go rest, then relayed his requirements to Tianlong. Upon learning it was Phoenix Luan's wishes, Tianlong naturally didn't object and personally found Yang Kai a secluded yet spacious location.
In the days that followed, Yang Kai set about constructing the spatial formation in that hidden spot.
It didn't take much effort. In less than a day, a brand-new spatial formation was already complete.
After confirming the formation was in working order, Yang Kai returned to the tower to rest.
No sooner had he left than a graceful figure suddenly appeared beside the spatial formation, examining it with an expression of wonder.
"Tianlong, did he really set this up in just one day?" Phoenix Luan asked, finding it hard to believe.
Tianlong, standing nearby, nodded with equal shock. "Your servant witnessed it personally. Though I stood at a distance while Young Master Yang worked, I watched the formation from its very beginning to its completion."
"Could he really be that skilled?" Phoenix Luan still looked skeptical.
Spatial formations were not so easily constructed, let alone inter-region ones. Phoenix Luan had assumed Yang Kai would need at least ten days to half a month, if not longer, to build such a thing—yet he had finished in a single day.
It was almost supernatural.
"Ice Heart Valley..." Phoenix Luan murmured. "Tianlong, I'm making a trip to Ice Heart Valley. Keep watch here."
She wanted to visit Ice Heart Valley for two reasons: first, to test whether this spatial formation actually worked or was just a showpiece, and second, to ask whether Zhang Ruoxi truly hailed from Ice Heart Valley.
