In the blink of an eye, that massive hand seized the sword-wielding warrior by the throat. Under the terrified, horrified gaze of the man, the hand's owner let out a savage grin. With a brutal flex of his fingers, a tsunami-like wave of Source Power erupted outward, sweeping up a tempest of death.
Crack…
A crisp sound rang out as the sword-wielding warrior's neck was simply crushed, his head drooping limply to one side.
Hiss…
Gasp after gasp echoed through the air as every warrior who had been charging toward the round-faced woman froze in horror, staring at the hand's owner with faces full of shock.
They were all Dao Source Realm warriors, yet this hand's owner had simply reached out, squeezed once, and ended a man's life. Such brutal and savage methods of killing, such absolute overwhelming power — it was naturally a shock to the heart.
"Luo Yuan!" someone roared.
If this Luo Yuan of the Eight Directions Sect had not been particularly famous before, then after this expedition to the Four Seasons Land, his reputation and renown were now enough to stand alongside the prodigies of the other top-tier Sects.
And he certainly had the strength and credentials to back it up!
In a sense, Luo Yuan and Wuchang were cut from the same cloth — both brutal and violent, the kind of people no one wanted to cross.
Now, seeing that it was he who stood in front of the round-faced woman, and that he had killed one person as a warning to the rest, how could the remaining warriors dare to make any move? The Grand Myriad Pill was certainly precious, but you had to be alive to enjoy it.
"Luo Yuan, you're after the Grand Myriad Pill too?"
That was practically the question on everyone's mind. If so, then Luo Yuan would be their greatest enemy. Without dealing with Luo Yuan first, there was no hope of getting the Grand Myriad Pill.
This was entirely possible. The Grand Myriad Pill was such a precious thing that anyone would covet it. It would be perfectly understandable for Luo Yuan to make a move for it.
Xiao Chen, Wuchang, Xia Sheng, and the others hadn't acted. First, they were mindful of their Sects' and their own reputations. Second, they probably felt disdain for such actions. But Luo Yuan was different. The Eight Directions Sect he came from was not a major Sect, so he didn't have that concern. He himself hadn't been particularly well-known before this. In other words, he could do whatever he wanted without any qualms whatsoever.
In an instant, everyone's expressions darkened as they inwardly cursed their luck.
However…
The way things unfolded left everyone stunned.
"Brother… Brother Luo…" A weak, trembling voice came from behind Luo Yuan. It was none other than the round-faced woman, whose face was still drained of color from shock.
"Brother?"
"Could it be…"
"No way!"
In that moment, every warrior who had attacked the round-faced woman broke into a cold sweat, their faces turning deathly pale, and the few more cowardly ones began trembling from head to toe.
From the way the round-faced woman addressed Luo Yuan, everyone vaguely realized that these two seemed to be from the same Sect. In other words, the round-faced woman was also a disciple of the Eight Directions Sect!
Bullying his junior sister right in front of Luo Yuan — how could this possibly end well?
But now, everyone suddenly understood why Luo Yuan had intervened at the critical moment. Not only had he intervened, but he had done so with extreme ruthlessness, killing one person outright…
In that instant, the expressions of those dozen-odd warriors turned grim. They exchanged glances with one another, their hearts filled with unease.
"Brother Luo, I had no idea this young lady was a fellow disciple of yours. My sincerest apologies for any offense I may have caused!" One man forced a smile onto his face and cupped his fists toward Luo Yuan.
"Brother Luo, it's a misunderstanding — a terrible misunderstanding…"
"Yes, yes! If we had known earlier that this young lady had any connection to Brother Luo, we would never have dared to touch her!"
The group began chattering over one another in a clamor, terrified that Luo Yuan would settle the score with them later.
Luo Yuan swept his cold gaze over them all and bellowed, "Scram! A bunch of trash!"
Though the words were hardly pleasant to hear, the crowd felt as if they had been granted a reprieve. They promptly scurried away with their tails between their legs.
"Brother Luo…" The round-faced woman, on the other hand, showed none of the joy one might expect from being rescued. Instead, she gazed nervously at Luo Yuan's retreating back and called out softly.
"What did I tell you?" Luo Yuan turned around and looked at her icily. "Once we entered the Four Seasons Land, I am me, and you are you. Don't cause me any trouble — have you forgotten?"
"N-No!" The round-faced woman waved her hands hastily, as if trying to explain something, but the moment she met Luo Yuan's emotionless gaze, she couldn't help but lower her head. Biting her red lip, she said, "I'm sorry!"
"If there's a next time, you'd better pray for your own salvation!" Luo Yuan snorted coldly.
"I understand." The round-faced woman kept her head lowered, her small hands twisting the hem of her clothes, like a child who had done something wrong.
"Hmph, suit yourself!" Luo Yuan snorted again, turned, and was about to walk away.
