The entire arena was stunned. Dong Qinghan stared blankly at Yang Kai, never having imagined that after four years apart, his cousin had become this savage. A Separation-Union Stage Five martial artist couldn't last even thirty breaths under his hands before collapsing, yet Yang Kai was completely unscathed.

Amid the billowing clouds of dust, Yang Kai stood tall and straight, his expression cold and indifferent as he surveyed the arena with a dominating gaze.

Bai Yunfeng and Fan Hong both wore faint looks of shock. After a moment, Bai Yunfeng shot a glance at Cao Zhengwen, who lay crumpled on the ground, and let out a cold snort. "As expected of a disciple raised by some backwater sect — utterly pathetic. Looks like I'll have to step in myself!"

Fan Hong looked at him in surprise, then quickly understood. As a young master of the Bai family, Bai Yunfeng had an inflated sense of his own worth. While he didn't particularly care whether Cao Zhengwen lived or died, the man had been recruited by him, making him half a member of the Bai family. Having someone beaten senseless right in front of his face — how could Bai Yunfeng let that slide?

In Fan Hong's place, he wouldn't have let it go either. Besides, that Yang Kai possessed a mysterious-grade martial technique. This was the perfect excuse to teach him a brutal lesson, then force him to reveal the cultivation method behind that technique.

At this thought, Fan Hong felt a twinge of annoyance. He shot a cold glance at the Lingxiao Pavilion disciple standing behind him, wondering why Yang Kai hadn't targeted this one instead. If he'd crippled him, Fan Hong would have had his own excuse to act.

"Brother Bai, attacking on someone else's territory probably isn't the best idea, is it?" Dong Qinghan said quickly, worried that Yang Kai might not be able to handle this. After all, Bai Yunfeng was already a first-level Zhenyuan Realm expert, and between the Zhenyuan Realm and the Separation-Union Realm lay a massive chasm.

Bai Yunfeng's voice was icy. "Someone else's territory? So what? Anyone who dares hurt a disciple of my Bai family will pay the price!"

He was dead set on making Yang Kai pay.

Dong Qinghan's brow furrowed. He wanted to help but had no idea how to intervene. From the outside, he and Yang Kai were merely strangers who had crossed paths — anything too obvious would raise suspicion. If Yang Kai's identity were exposed, it would bring nothing but trouble.

The Yang family's influence was vast, but they had no shortage of enemies. Countless people across the land harbored hatred toward the Yang family.

Just as he was caught in this dilemma, he noticed Yang Kai subtly flash him a look. Dong Qinghan's mind stirred, and he said nothing more.

Bai Yunfeng strode toward Yang Kai at a leisurely pace, issuing orders as he walked. "Two elders, please watch the perimeter."

"Yes!" Two old men responded in deep voices.

Dong Qinghan had a Shenyou Realm expert guarding him — did Bai Yunfeng and Fan Hong lack such protection? They were all prodigies of their respective factions, and before their wings were fully grown, someone naturally had to safeguard their lives.

"This is your last chance. Swear loyalty to my Bai family, hand over that martial technique, and I'll spare your life!" Bai Yunfeng held his chin high, gazing down at Yang Kai with supreme arrogance.

Yang Kai let out a cold laugh. Yuan Qi churned within him, and his battle spirit soared.

No words were needed — his attitude said it all.

"Very well. I'll keep you alive, since you still have value!" The moment Bai Yunfeng finished speaking, his figure blurred. Like dust dispersed by the wind, he became ethereal and intangible.

Yang Kai's expression turned grim. He dared not relax for even a heartbeat. Bai Yunfeng might have appeared to be an arrogant wastrel, but he was still a young master of the Bai family, and his cultivation surpassed Yang Kai's by an entire major realm. Against someone like that, the slightest carelessness could be fatal — one clean strike could end it all.

Yang Kai actually didn't want to face such an enemy right now.

But the thought of this man loitering day after day in front of Su Yan's pavilion made his stomach turn. Every man regarded his woman as his alone to possess. Bai Yunfeng hadn't even caught a glimpse of Su Yan's face, and yet the thought still set Yang Kai's teeth on edge.

A strange swirl of dust appeared behind Yang Kai. Bai Yunfeng materialized with a cold, sinister smile on his lips and lightly pressed a palm toward Yang Kai's back. The strike carried an overwhelming force, held in check yet ready to explode.

Dong Qinghan's face changed drastically, and he nearly called out a warning.

Yang Kai spun around with lightning speed. His palm blazed red as scorching True Yang Energy erupted from it. Moving a fraction faster, he met Bai Yunfeng's strike head-on.

Gale-force winds howled. The ambient energy turned chaotic. The palm shockwaves tore through the air. Yang Kai's body shook violently, and he was sent hurtling back over ten meters, while Bai Yunfeng remained perfectly still, his expression as calm and detached as ever.

The two had clashed once before, but back then Yang Kai had used a full eighty percent of his strength while Bai Yunfeng had been caught off guard — that was why they'd seemed evenly matched.

But now Bai Yunfeng was striking in earnest. How could it possibly compare?

A single exchange, and Yang Kai had already taken a solid blow. He landed hard on the ground but quickly sprang back to his feet, his gaze fixed on Bai Yunfeng with deadly seriousness.

"A first-level Separation-Union Realm ant dares to fight me? Know your place!" Bai Yunfeng scoffed. His figure shifted once more — some uncanny movement technique that made it impossible to tell where the real him was.

Yang Kai clenched his jaw, his eyes glinting with cold light as he braced himself against the movements all around him.
