Immersed in the ocean of spiritual threads, Yang Kai felt that without even circulating his cultivation, he could draw upon the surrounding energy at every moment and convert it to his own use.
Cultivating in such an environment, a warrior would absolutely be able to grow at a hundred or even a thousand times the normal speed.
He gathered his thoughts and picked up the second item.
It was the seventh Star Emperor Token he had obtained from the Purple Star treasury.
It was no different from the previous six—nearly identical, forged from some unknown material, with a prominent "Emperor" character on its front and the residual might of imperial authority still lingering within the token.
After examining it for a while, Yang Kai took out the other six tokens as well.
All seven Star Emperor Tokens gathered together, and suddenly, an anomaly erupted.
The seven tokens shot out of Yang Kai's hands uncontrollably, then flew back and forth before him. In the blink of an eye, they formed a peculiar shape.
The shape resembled the Eight Trigrams, but was missing sides and corners.
Yang Kai understood immediately—it was because two Star Emperor Tokens were missing that the complete pattern could not be formed.
After hovering in midair for a moment, the seven Star Emperor Tokens suddenly dropped downward. Yang Kai swept his hand out and caught all of them, rubbing them for a while before placing them into his spatial ring.
He turned his gaze to the final two items.
One of them was a palm-sized scale, similar to a fish scale but covered in intricate, elaborate patterns that gave off a ferocious impression. An extremely ancient aura was flowing from within the scale.
A Dragon Scale! A true scale of an authentic dragon.
With the Dragon Scale laid before him, the Dragon Bone Sword within Yang Kai's body seemed to be agitated as well, humming ceaselessly. It took considerable effort on his part to suppress it.
A Dragon Scale of this caliber was, in terms of value, even greater than the Earth Vein Bead he had obtained earlier. It had been acquired unintentionally by one of Purple Star's ancestors. Unfortunately, over all these years, no one in Purple Star had been able to make full use of it. Kuang Shizong had once set his sights on this Dragon Scale as well, but had ultimately failed. In the end, he had been forced to reluctantly give up and store it away on a high shelf.
If a grandmaster-level artifact refiner were to use this Dragon Scale as the primary material and forge it into an artifact, it would absolutely become a top-grade Void King-level artifact. Whether used as an offensive or defensive artifact, it would stand supreme throughout the entire Star Domain.
Of course, the Dragon Scale was extraordinarily durable, making it the best choice for a defensive artifact. Particularly if refined into a shield.
Unfortunately, a Dragon Scale like this might not be refinable even by a Void King-level artifact refiner, unless they possessed a special divine fire.
Yang Kai was not an artifact refiner, so naturally he could not melt and refine this Dragon Scale. But he had an advantage that no one else did.
He carried the Golden Sacred Dragon Origin within him!
Among the true dragons, the Golden Sacred Dragon was supreme—the head of all dragons! With the power of the Golden Sacred Dragon Origin within him, and having obtained the Demon Transformation Art from the Crimson Moon Lord, Yang Kai could absolutely refine this Dragon Scale into his body. By fusing this true dragon artifact into himself, he would gain a portion of the dragon's divine abilities.
The Dragon Scale was one type of true dragon artifact, and the Dragon Bone Sword was another.
The Dragon Bone Sword was composed of a segment of dragon bone and a dragon pearl. When Yang Kai had refined it, he had not completed the process in full—or rather, he had lacked the ability to fully forge it. At the time, Yang Yan had simply passed down a technique, and Yang Kai had used his own body as a furnace to refine the dragon bone and dragon pearl within himself.
This approach had perfectly preserved the efficacy of both the dragon bone and the dragon pearl.
In other words, Yang Kai now had three true dragon artifacts in his possession: one Dragon Scale, one Dragon Spine Bone, and one Dragon Pearl!
If he could use the Demon Transformation Art to fully fuse these three true dragon artifacts into his body, his strength would increase enormously.
No one else could possibly accomplish this—only Yang Kai, who carried the Golden Sacred Dragon Origin, could achieve it.
He was in no hurry. Instead, he turned his gaze to the last item.
It was a hexagonal crystal. It looked somewhat similar to an Earth Vein Crystal, but was completely different. An Earth Vein Crystal contained its energy internally, invisible from the outside; only by probing it with divine sense could one perceive the vast energy stored within.
But this hexagonal crystal radiated its energy outward. Even someone as powerful as Yang Kai felt a trace of pressure before it.
This crystal was none other than the Void Thought Crystal that had been extracted from that mysterious auction item. It was an essence that only a peak third-level Void King realm expert could form within their body, containing a lifetime of martial comprehension from such an expert.
The Void Thought Crystal held a fatal allure for any Void King realm warrior—a temptation even more intense than that of Domain Stones.
Domain Stones merely allowed Void King realm experts to comprehend the power of domains and better refine their own domain fields, but the Void Thought Crystal could push a Void King realm expert even further!
This was what Yang Kai needed most urgently!
The Phoenix Wind Silver that had encased the Void Thought Crystal had long since been divided between Xiao Xiao and the Fire Bird. As long as he could absorb the energy within this Void Thought Crystal, Yang Kai believed that even if he couldn't immediately advance to the peak third level of the Void King realm and reach the pinnacle of the Star Domain, it would at least make his path of cultivation considerably smoother!
His gaze shifted back and forth between the Void Thought Crystal and the Dragon Scale for a long while before Yang Kai finally made his decision and put the Void Thought Crystal away!
He decided to refine the Dragon Scale first.
