Chapter 1808: Void King Realm

"Look!" Xue Yue suddenly pointed again. "There seems to be something happening in there."

Through the faint, flickering spatial cracks in that stretch of space, vague but extraordinary scenes gradually came into view before everyone's eyes.

"This... the more I look at it, the more it resembles that wretched place." Ghost Ancestor nearly bit his own tongue. Though the cracks were incredibly thin and unstable, he could still make out a landscape reminiscent of a suspended continent.

"Is this where Yang Kai went?" Xue Yue asked in astonishment.

"Hmm. If this old man isn't mistaken, it should be. But... did you hear something?" Ghost Ancestor looked toward Ni Guang and Xue Yue.

Xue Yue shook her head, but Ni Guang wore a grave expression. He nodded slowly and said, "There's a faint sound of thunder, and the aura emanating from these cracks—hiss... could it be that brat is at a critical juncture of a breakthrough right now?"

"You mean... all this commotion is caused by the Heavenly Tribulation?" Ghost Ancestor's expression changed.

"Does it not look that way to you?" Ni Guang countered.

"It does look like it, but that place and this one are two separate spaces after all. Even if Yang Kai is breaking through to the Void King Realm, surely he wouldn't cause this big a spectacle?" Ghost Ancestor's mouth twitched. After saying this, he himself froze.

Anyone else might not be capable of such a feat, but Yang Kai was a different matter entirely.

He had mastered the power of Space. If it really was him breaking through to the Void King Realm, causing the two spaces to intersect and overlap, it was entirely possible.

"If that really is the case, then that brat is in danger," Ni Guang said solemnly.

"What do you mean?" Xue Yue exclaimed, her face going pale.

"The energy is far too terrifying. I don't know whether he can endure it," Ni Guang replied, frowning.

A promotion to the Void King Realm — if one failed to withstand it, the consequences would be catastrophic. This was nothing like breakthroughs in the earlier stages of martial cultivation. When warriors were still weak, failing a major realm advancement was no big deal. But at the Void King Realm level, failure meant only two possible outcomes: severe crippling or death.

The probability of death exceeded eighty percent.

Ni Guang, Ghost Ancestor, and the others continued to murmur in alarm. On the other side, Zi Long, Xu Wei, and Kong Fa were also pointing toward the same spot, and had reached the same conclusion — Yang Kai might be attempting to advance to the Void King Realm!

Zi Long's face turned ashen in an instant.

He wasn't afraid of Yang Kai succeeding, because even if Yang Kai truly became a Void King Realm cultivator, he would only be at the first level. Zi Long did not consider such a person worthy of his attention.

What he feared was Yang Kai failing!

If that brat died in there, where would he find the Unaging Tree?

"You bastard!" Zi Long cursed furiously, but could do nothing more than rage helplessly.

In the spatial zone of the Chaotic Abyss, the various anomalies persisted without cease. Everyone watched with bated breath, terrified that something terrible might befall Yang Kai.

This situation continued for an entire day before the violently fluctuating space finally began to stabilize. The faint rumbling of thunder gradually dissipated as well.

"Did he succeed?" Xue Yue was anxious as an ant on a hot pan, wishing she could charge into the suspended continent to see for herself.

Ni Guang and Ghost Ancestor both wore expressionless faces and said nothing.

At this point, the outcome was already determined — but they had no way of knowing whether Yang Kai had actually succeeded. All they could do was wait in anxious suspense.

On the suspended continent, at the site of Yang Kai's breakthrough, everything within a hundred-mile radius had been leveled flat, leaving behind an enormous crater.

Right at the center of that crater, a dark figure lay sprawled in the shape of a starfish — and who else could it be but Yang Kai?

A scorched smell permeated the surrounding air.

"Well, that got out of hand," Yang Kai muttered, staring up at the deep sky overhead. His mouth twitched. Every inch of his body ached, as though every bone had been shattered and every shred of flesh reduced to powder. The slightest movement pulled on every nerve, making him want to scream.

The Heavenly Tribulation for advancing to the Void King Realm — he never imagined it would be this violent!

Throughout his entire journey of Cultivation, every time he had broken through a major realm, it had always been harrowing but ultimately safe. This one time alone had nearly cost him his life.

Even his Five Elements Immortal Body had nearly been shattered by the heavenly energy. In the end, he had been forced to invoke his Dragon Transformation Art, barely enduring through the final moments.

Right now, his Dragon Transformation Art had yet to recede. His right arm was covered in overlapping dragon scales, and his hand had been transformed into a dragon's claw — and even this dragon arm had been battered until the scales were ripped upward and the flesh was a bloody mess.

It was a wretched sight, but the moment he sensed his current realm, Yang Kai couldn't help but break into a silly grin.

Void King Realm!

How many years had it been? He had finally set foot in the domain of the Void King Realm.

Feeling the surging, boundless power coursing through his body, feeling his completely transformed comprehension of the Heavenly Dao and the Martial Dao, Yang Kai felt that all the suffering had been worth it.

From the Return Void Realm to the Void King Realm — it was as though he had stepped into an entirely new world.
