"So it's Senior Luo Hai!" Yang Kai adopted an expression of belated realization, his gaze turning to Luo Hai as he frowned and asked, "I wonder what Senior means by this?"
A faint smile appeared on Luo Hai's face. Rather than answering, he countered with a question of his own: "The two of you seem to be in quite a hurry. Where are you off to?"
"Naturally, we intend to leave here and return to the Dark Star. Does Senior need something?"
"Nothing in particular." Luo Hai slowly shook his head. "However, Jiu Lao and Senior Sister Lei have both been waiting for your friend here, hoping to have a good exchange with him. The two of you leaving without so much as a farewell—isn't that rather improper?"
"It is a bit improper," Yang Kai conceded with a slight nod. "But circumstances arose suddenly, and we must return to the Dark Star as quickly as possible. Since we've encountered Senior here, might I trouble you to pass along our regards? We won't make a personal trip to say goodbye."
"That won't do!" Luo Hai clearly had no intention of compromising. "They've already been waiting for quite some days. You two had better come with me."
"Lord Luo Hai's words are rather unreasonable." Qian Tong took a deep breath. "Whether we go or not is between Yang Kai and me—it is our freedom. Is Lord Luo Hai trying to force us?"
He had already learned from Yang Kai that Luo Hai harbored ill intentions toward him, so his words were not particularly courteous. Having just broken through to the Void King Realm, he was brimming with confidence, and even in Luo Hai's presence, he showed little timidity.
A cold light flickered through Luo Hai's eyes as he cast a detached glance at Qian Tong.
Qian Tong's body shook as if struck by lightning, his face turning slightly pale, his eyes filling with horror. He instantly realized the enormous gulf between himself and Luo Hai.
After delivering a small lesson to Qian Tong, Luo Hai turned to Yang Kai with an amiable smile: "Why don't you two think it over a bit more before giving me your answer? Hmm, I'll give you ten breaths."
His attitude was unmistakably forceful.
Yang Kai's expression darkened. He had never imagined that a powerhouse of this caliber could be so shameless.
Qian Tong and Yang Kai exchanged glances, both sensing the danger and helplessness of their situation. On Cuiwei Star, facing Luo Hai, even a Third Stage Void King Realm expert might not be able to do anything about him—let alone the two of them.
Ten breaths passed in the blink of an eye. Luo Hai asked casually: "Have you made your decision?"
As he spoke, the surrounding heaven and earth seemed to grow even more solid and immovable, leaving them utterly unable to budge.
Qian Tong looked toward Yang Kai, clearly deferring to his judgment in all things.
Yang Kai took a deep breath. He said in a low voice: "We have."
"Oh? And what is your answer?"
"We'll go!"
A look of satisfaction surfaced on Luo Hai's face.
"That's absolutely impossible!" Yang Kai bellowed.
The instant his voice fell, a faint Domain radiated outward from Qian Tong's body, wrapping around him and allowing him to resist the Star Force of Cuiwei Star. He bit down on the tip of his tongue and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.
That blood contained Qian Tong's Life Essence. The moment it appeared, it transformed into a blood arrow that hurtled toward Luo Hai with lightning speed.
"Insolent!" Luo Hai was furious. No one had ever dared to make a move against him on Cuiwei Star while he served as the Star Lord—Yang Kai and Qian Tong were the first.
His gaze turned sinister as he looked toward Qian Tong. With a mere casual wave of his hand, the blood arrow bearing down on him shattered with a crack, and at the same time, Qian Tong's chest caved inward as if struck by a tremendous blow, a mist of blood spraying from his mouth.
His face turned ashen in an instant.
"You're courting death!" Luo Hai's eyes were icy. He had no intention of letting Qian Tong off.
Now that things had been torn open, he naturally held nothing back. They were approaching the edge of the star field, about to leave the boundaries of Cuiwei Star's natural laws, so no one would detect the battle here.
His primary target was Yang Kai—as for Qian Tong, he truly didn't care about him.
Luo Hai extended a hand and pointed from afar. A pure white light suddenly burst forth from his fingertip, brilliant and dazzling, as if something was about to shoot out—aimed directly at Qian Tong.
Crack, crack, crack...
At that very moment, a sound of lightning and thunder came rolling in. Along with the thunderclaps, a presence that made Luo Hai's expression change drastically descended upon his head.
Luo Hai's face shifted. He looked up, and the next moment, his eyes narrowed.
Above his head, an ink-dark cloud had appeared at some unknown point. Within it, countless tiny arcs of lightning darted and wove.
Though the lightning arcs were small, they contained terrifying destructive power sufficient to rend heaven and earth.
Even Luo Hai was deeply shaken.
He jolted awake and turned to look at Yang Kai, discovering that the young man held a deep blue bead in his hand, pouring his Saint Force frantically into it. Lightning arcs danced across the bead's surface, resonating with the arcs above his head.
This kid was behind it all? What was that bead?
Luo Hai's thoughts raced, but before he could discern the mysteries of the strange blue bead, the countless tiny lightning arcs above suddenly plummeted straight down, enveloping the entire area where he stood.
Hissing and crackling filled the air!
Luo Hai's furious roar instantly resounded through the heavens, reaching all the way to the star field.
When a Star Lord rages, Cuiwei Star trembles.
In that moment, the entire Cuiwei Star seemed on the verge of splitting apart—the earth shook, mountains crumbled, tsunamis surged, presenting a scene of impending apocalypse.
Across Cuiwei Star, billions of inhabitants all turned pale.
Jiu Lao and the others sprang to their feet, their faces filled with shock.
