"Brother Xuelian, be careful — this is the one I told you about before," Mitian said in a low voice, casting a cold glance toward Yang Kai.
The Demon Race warrior called Xuelian furrowed his brow and looked Yang Kai up and down with open contempt. "This is the human who killed your two Thunderflame Flying Lizards? Doesn't look like much to me."
He wore an expression that suggested Yang Kai wasn't worth a second thought, his demeanor dripping with disdain.
Mitian chuckled. "Brother Xuelian, if you underestimate him simply because he's human, you'll be making a grave mistake. He… seems rather different from the humans on the Emperor Star."
"Hmph. It's been over a decade, and look at you, Mitian — where's the edge you used to have? You're inflating a human like he's something special. Absolutely pathetic. If my mount had been killed, he wouldn't have lived to see the next sunrise. You've gone soft, Mitian. From now on, the Emperor Star belongs to me, Xuelian." Xuelian didn't seem to regard Mitian as anything worth respecting either, and launched into a string of taunting remarks.
Mitian showed no sign of anger. Instead, he smiled pleasantly. "I'm just giving you a heads-up. Whether you listen or not is up to you. Heh heh!"
The two Demon Race powerhouses traded words back and forth without bothering to lower their voices, so Yang Kai heard every word with perfect clarity.
He looked at the warrior called Xuelian with some interest, a strange expression crossing his face.
This Xuelian must truly have an impressive background — otherwise how could he dare speak to Mitian that way? Yang Kai knew Mitian was the youngest son of Lord Thousand Eyes and enjoyed considerable renown across the entire Emperor Star. For someone to stand as his equal and even savage him with cutting mockery, who exactly was this Xuelian?
Yet his cultivation was in no way inferior to Mitian's — he was also a Third-Order Return Void realm powerhouse!
"Can I help you two?" Yang Kai asked evenly, a smile on his face but a glint of frost in his eyes.
"Of course we have business, or we wouldn't have come," Xuelian snarled with a grin, looking at Yang Kai with contempt. "But you're not worthy of speaking with this young master. Tell that human woman surnamed Xia to come out and see me."
"You want to see Junior Sister Xia?" Yang Kai chuckled and shook his head. "I'm afraid that's not convenient. Junior Sister is refining pills right now and won't see anyone."
"She won't see me?" Xuelian's expression turned sharp. He snorted coldly. "That's not up to her! This young master has come all this way — she'll see me whether she wants to or not."
Mitian stood behind Xuelian and chimed in with an amused smile. "Brother Xuelian has come this time to have that young lady refine pills. Her alchemy skills are apparently quite impressive. Brother Xuelian has already prepared all the medicinal ingredients — all she needs to do is refine them."
"Refining pills? No problem!" Yang Kai nodded. "There's no need to bother my Junior Sister with such a small matter. I'll accept on her behalf — hand over the ingredients and come back in a few days to pick them up."
Mitian raised an eyebrow, while Xuelian let out a sneering laugh. "Hand the ingredients over to you? Who do you think you are? This young master has heard you're nothing but a pretty boy who lives off a woman's charity! Tell her to get out here and face me! A lowly human wench dares to put on airs in front of this young master? I'll chop her into pieces!"
The smile vanished from Yang Kai's face in an instant. His eyes narrowed, and a look of cold ruthlessness suddenly appeared. "Did you just insult my Junior Sister?"
"Are you deaf? So what if I did?"
"Nothing. But you'll pay for it."
Yang Kai's voice was chilling. Without any visible motion, he appeared directly in front of Xuelian and threw a savage punch straight at his face, his Holy Energy surging violently through his fist and bursting outward.
The other party had clearly come looking for a fight, and Yang Kai had no intention of wasting any more words.
Xuelian was startled — he hadn't even seen Yang Kai move before he felt a razor-sharp killing intent bearing down on him. In a panic, he roared and threw a punch of his own to meet the blow.
His eyes were filled with both rage and amusement.
Yang Kai's sudden attack genuinely surprised him. No human had ever been brazen enough to strike him first.
But this human was being hopelessly overconfident — trying to match him in physical strength? Even among the Demon Race on the Emperor Star, his bloodline granted him top-tier physical power that put most Demon Race powerhouses to shame, let alone some human.
He struck with full force, expecting Yang Kai to be sent flying in pieces.
**BOOM!**
The two fists met in midair, and the space around them seemed to collapse inward. Visible ripples surged outward in expanding circles, devastating everything in their path.
Yang Kai's body shuddered. He raised an eyebrow, looking somewhat surprised.
Xuelian's eyes went wide, disbelief flooding his expression.
In that single clash of fists, both had felt the terrifying force transmitted from the other. Both realized the other was no easy target.
The enormous impact sent both of them staggering back several steps before they managed to stabilize themselves.
"Impressive!" Mitian praised without reservation. The instant Yang Kai made his move, he had elegantly drifted to a safe distance, and from there he had witnessed the full collision. He was genuinely shocked.
Although he had always considered himself slightly superior to Xuelian in overall combat power, if it came down to pure physical strength alone, he freely admitted he couldn't compare. After all, Xuelian's bloodline was one famed for its resilience and ferocious power — not something Mitian's own lineage could rival.
If he were to fight Xuelian one-on-one, he would do everything in his power to avoid any direct physical exchanges, leveraging his strengths against his opponent's weaknesses.
