Chapter 1036: Planning Ahead

The three of them didn't linger on the second floor.

They proceeded all the way to the third floor before the shop assistant finally stopped and said with a smile, "Feel free to browse, sir. Just let me know if anything catches your eye."

Yang Kai nodded and began making his way along the various display counters on the third floor.

These finished Star Shuttles varied in length, size, and even shape — no longer uniform in design. It seemed the artificers here had deliberately crafted them into different forms to cater to the diverse needs of various customers, though this didn't affect the shuttles' performance in any way.

The warriors shopping for Star Shuttles on the third floor were noticeably more powerful than those below. Every one of them lingering at the counters possessed either Saint Realm or Great Emperor cultivation, and each held a certain standing and strength.

But no matter how powerful they were, they all behaved themselves perfectly.

Inside any shop under the Heng Luo Commercial Alliance, no one dared cause trouble. This was the Alliance's home star, the very foundation of its operations, and the Alliance would not tolerate anyone interfering with its business.

Yang Kai walked and browsed, looking exclusively for Great Emperor-grade superior Star Shuttles. Whenever he spotted one he liked, he'd have the shop assistant take it out so he could test how it felt.

Blood Eye followed behind him. Seeing that he'd been searching for a long time without finding a suitable one, she couldn't help but say, "If you're willing to wait, the artificers here can craft a custom one tailored to you."

"How long would that take?" Yang Kai asked, turning back.

"Even with Young Master Shen Tu's connection, you'd still have to wait at least a month or two."

Yang Kai frowned slightly and shook his head. "Forget it, no need to go through all that trouble. I'll have to upgrade once my strength increases later anyway. I'll just settle for something for now."

As he spoke, his gaze suddenly fell on a Star Shuttle in the display case — one with a sleek, flowing design reminiscent of a swimming fish. He pointed at it and said to the shop assistant, "Bring that one out for me to look at."

The shop assistant complied and retrieved it.

Yang Kai gripped the Star Shuttle and attempted to channel his power through it. His eyes lit up immediately.

His own Saint Energy flowed through the shuttle smoothly and unobstructed, performing better than any of the previous ones he'd tested.

Because when crafting Star Shuttles, the artificers might use different materials and inscribe different spirit formations, each shuttle ended up with its own unique characteristics. Whether it could perfectly harmonize with a particular warrior's power became the key indicator of its practicality.

The one in Yang Kai's hand was undoubtedly an excellent match for the energy within his body.

He saw no reason to keep searching. Yang Kai nodded and said, "This one will do. How much does it cost?"

The shop assistant glanced at Blood Eye upon hearing this.

Blood Eye said, "Just quote the normal price."

"Very well." The shop assistant nodded. "A Great Emperor-grade superior Star Shuttle is generally valued at ten thousand high-grade Saint Crystals. The price does fluctuate slightly, but the one in your hand is the finest on the third floor, valued at twelve thousand high-grade Saint Crystals!"

"Twelve thousand..." Yang Kai frowned. He suddenly realized he didn't have a clear understanding of the value of Saint Crystals here. He had no idea what kind of fortune twelve thousand high-grade Saint Crystals actually represented.

He turned his gaze toward Blood Eye.

Blood Eye smiled and said to the shop assistant, "Put it on Young Master Shen Tu's account. Just go to the palace sometime to collect payment from him."

"Understood!"

"No need," Yang Kai said. "I have Saint Crystals on me. I'll pay for it myself."

He did indeed have quite a few Saint Crystals. They had originally belonged to the Purple Star and Sword Alliance warriors and had been swept up by him on the Floating Continent — a considerable amount, more than enough to cover this Star Shuttle.

He didn't want to owe Shen Tu any favors.

The shop assistant looked to Blood Eye with a somewhat troubled expression. Blood Eye's eyes flickered briefly, but she said nothing more, simply giving a slight nod.

The shop assistant let out a sigh of relief and said with a smile, "Then please follow me."

He led Yang Kai down to the first floor, where Yang Kai continuously withdrew Saint Crystals from the Demon Mystic Grimoire. It took quite a while before the transaction was finally settled. The shop assistant respectfully saw him and Blood Eye to the door.

After leaving the shop, Blood Eye took Yang Kai to several other stores, where they made extensive purchases of rare ores.

On Water Moon Star, you could buy anything you wanted — as long as you had the money. Even something as massive as a warship, a super-large artifact, was available.

The warships forged by the Heng Luo Commercial Alliance were the best quality and fastest in the entire Star Field, so many factions were willing to order their warships from Water Moon Star.

Yang Kai had no interest in such things for the time being, and he knew full well he couldn't afford the price of a warship.

He had no concept of the value of Saint Crystals, nor any notion of what was cheap or expensive. He simply followed Blood Eye around and gathered ores in bulk, selecting nothing below Great Emperor-grade. He kept spending until only a few hundred Saint Crystals remained before he finally called it quits.

Inside the Demon Mystic Grimoire, a large pile of rare minerals that were seldom seen in the outside world now sat beside those two pitch-black round stones, their essences being drawn out and absorbed.

Perhaps because Yang Kai hadn't forced Shen Tu to foot the bill despite being a guest, Blood Eye looked at him with an increasingly warm expression, feeling that this young man had principles. He wasn't trying to befriend Shen Tu Young Master for status or to climb the social ladder.
