Every herb that grew here was at least saint grade, and most of them were Sage King grade.
Shentu's face was twisted with excitement.
He had never imagined that the resources on this continent could be so abundant — nearly every few dozen zhang, a herb that had grown for countless years stood waiting for him and Yang Kai to harvest.
The spiritual herbs on this continent were a dozen times more abundant than on any medicinal star in the Star Field, their medicinal properties concentrated and their age impressive. Most remarkably, they seemed to have gone entirely untouched.
The mysterious old man possessed profound cultivation and most likely considered these herbs beneath him, finding little use in gathering them. That was why the spiritual plants had been given ample time to mature.
Shentu didn't know much about herbs — he usually only consumed pre-refined pills. Even so, the sheer abundance of herbs dazzled him, leaving him beside himself with excitement.
Under Yang Kai's precise guidance, they swept through the area and collected every last mature herb.
"Hey, Yang Kai, come look at this..." Shentu suddenly called from nearby, his voice trembling slightly, as though he had discovered something incredible.
Yang Kai hurried over and found Shentu crouching before a strange orchid. The flower emitted a faint, refreshing fragrance that cleared the mind and made the whole body feel at ease. Its snow-white petals shimmered with iridescent light — truly extraordinary.
Yang Kai's eyes narrowed. "Seven-Colored Thousand-Knot Orchid?" he said in a low voice.
The spiritual herbs on this continent were basically the same as those found on the Tongxuan Continent — the only difference was their vastly superior grade. However, there were many species even Yang Kai could not name, herbs that had never existed on the Tongxuan Continent.
If a Seven-Colored Thousand-Knot Orchid grew on the Tongxuan Continent, it would at most be mid-tier saint grade. Yet this orchid radiated terrifying energy fluctuations and horrifying medicinal power far beyond that level.
"Yang Kai, what grade is this thing? I can tell it's somehow different," Shentu exclaimed, staring at the Seven-Colored Thousand-Knot Orchid before him with blazing eyes.
"By the Star Field's classification of cultivator strength, this should be void grade," Yang Kai said gravely.
Shentu drew a sharp breath, his expression shifting several times over. Quite the sight to behold, he murmured in disbelief, "There are actually void grade herbs here — heavens, there are actually void grade herbs here!"
Even across the entire Star Field, void grade herbs were exceedingly valuable. They had barely begun searching and had already found one — one could only imagine the incredible wealth of resources this continent harbored.
Yang Kai carefully harvested the Seven-Colored Thousand-Knot Orchid and placed it in his Cosmos Bag, a small measure of excitement stirring within him.
He and Shentu exchanged a glance, and without a word, both resumed searching with renewed vigor.
The Floating Continent was rich with herbs, and the cultivators from Purple Star and the Sword Alliance were driven into a frenzy by them. They seemed to have temporarily forgotten their awkward predicament, scrambling about like madmen.
Whether or not they could leave this continent, these herbs would be of tremendous help in advancing their cultivation.
Yang Kai and Shentu had made enormous gains as well. The continent was vast, and with fewer than a hundred cultivators from Purple Star and the Sword Alliance spread out in every direction, they rarely ran into each other.
They could search for herbs to their heart's content in complete safety.
More than ten days later, Yang Kai came to a halt.
"What's wrong?" Shentu was still in high spirits, searching around with gleaming eyes. Noticing Yang Kai had stopped, he couldn't help but turn and ask.
"I've gathered enough herbs. Time to start refining pills."
"The pills to lift your restriction?" Shentu inquired.
"Mm-hm."
"But you can't use your power — how will you refine pills?" Shentu asked, puzzled.
"I have my own methods. Go gather herbs on your own. There's a cave over there — I'll be staying there for now. You can find me when you're done." Yang Kai pointed not far away. Earlier, as they had passed through, he had spotted a decent place to rest.
"Alright." Shentu didn't press the matter, knowing he was eager to restore his power. "Be careful then. I'll search a bit longer."
With that, he took his leave in an easygoing manner.
Yang Kai oriented himself and headed toward the cave he had discovered earlier.
In no time, he arrived at the cave's entrance. He sent his Divine Sense sweeping inside, and only after confirming there was no danger within did he step in.
The cave appeared to have formed naturally. From its ceiling hung numerous stalactites shaped over countless years, and from their tips, drops of spirit-rich spring water fell one by one.
Yang Kai caught a few drops and drank them, instantly feeling refreshed and invigorated.
The spring water here was no ordinary liquid. It contained vast amounts of heaven and earth energy — essentially condensed spiritual essence. Consuming it was enormously beneficial, producing the same effect as Myriad Medicine Spirit Liquid: improving one's physique and enhancing one's strength.
However, its effect was somewhat weaker than that of Myriad Medicine Spirit Liquid.
Yang Kai made his way to the deepest part of the cave, found a dry spot, and sat cross-legged.
