Jie Tianran stared at Chu Feng with a solemn expression.
At that moment, a layer of white light clung to both Chu Feng and Xiao Yu'er.
It was this very layer of light that had deflected Jie Tianran's attack.
Xiao Yu'er was not the least bit surprised. She had long known that Chu Feng possessed a trump card to protect his life.
And Chu Feng himself was well aware — it was the Divine Deer making its move.
However, before long, the white light that had originally been clinging only to Chu Feng began to spread outward, coalescing into the figure of a young woman.
She wore a cyan dress, her skin like jade, her features exquisitely beautiful. Yet her bearing was otherworldly, and between her brows there radiated a cold, domineering air — the unmistakable message that none should approach.
She was the Divine Deer.
Jie Tianran and the members of the Seven Realms Holy Mansion were all sizing up the Divine Deer.
Everyone could tell that the Divine Deer was unfathomably deep in power, and they knew this was the trump card that made Chu Feng fearless.
Even Chu Feng hadn't expected the Divine Deer to reveal her true form directly.
After all, whenever the Divine Deer had encountered danger in the past, she would simply channel her power and spirit away to safety.
What Chu Feng had expected even less was the contemptuous gaze the Divine Deer cast upon Jie Tianran.
"This god is taking Chu Feng with her now. Can you stop me?"
The Divine Deer's tone was equally contemptuous.
"Heh, are you provoking this old man?" Jie Tianran asked.
"In this god's eyes, you are nothing but an ant. Provoking you? Are you even worthy?"
"As expected — whatever the master is like, so is the servant. Quite the arrogant tongue."
"But since you've said as much, this old man will grant you a small courtesy."
"Allow me to show you what this old man is capable of."
As Jie Tianran spoke, two ancient talismans materialized in his hands, radiating an aura of antiquity.
He formed seals with his fingers. The talismans ignited, transforming into two colossal dragons of flame that soared skyward.
The dragons transitioned from flame into solid form, growing ever larger.
In the blink of an eye, they had soared beyond the boundaries of the world and into the void. Their immense bodies coiled and spiraled until they completely encircled the entire world.
Immediately afterward, the whole world began to tremble violently.
The two dragons wrapping around the world were undergoing a transformation.
From their vast bodies, enormous surges of water erupted. The torrential waves formed an immense barrier that sealed the world off completely.
The flood was so overwhelming that the world within was caught in its wake as violent rainstorms swept down from above.
Then came the cold.
The other dragon released a torrent of frost, which similarly crystallized into a sealing barrier that blanketed the world.
Under the assault of the frigid air, the downpour turned into a raging blizzard, and in an instant the entire world had been reduced to a vast expanse of white.
But the blizzard was merely a blizzard.
Looking up, it was the frost barrier suspended in the sky and the churning water barrier that were truly terrifying.
They were not mere manifestations — they contained power of extraordinary might.
If the frost barrier was impervious to all force, then the water barrier concealed hidden lethality within.
Sensing the danger radiating from both barriers, Chu Feng felt his heart tighten somewhat.
So he asked in secret: "Senior."
But the moment Chu Feng spoke, the Divine Deer replied immediately: "Put your heart back where it belongs."
After transmitting those words to Chu Feng via secret communication, the Divine Deer turned that same contemptuous gaze back upon Jie Tianran.
When her gaze fell upon him, Jie Tianran's expression darkened.
The Divine Deer's gaze made him — a man who had always believed himself unrivaled — extremely displeased.
Because the contempt in the Divine Deer's eyes was not feigned. It was genuine disdain, born from the depths of her being.
And when the Divine Deer spoke, Jie Tianran's heart involuntarily trembled.
"An ant is nothing but an ant."
If anyone else had called Jie Tianran an ant, it would have been the insult of a powerless wretch.
But when the Divine Deer said it, it was not an insult — it was simply a fact.
At least, to the Divine Deer, Jie Tianran truly was no different from an ant.
And when the Divine Deer turned and carried Chu Feng into the sky, everything seemed to prove her point.
Whether it was the water barrier concealing hidden lethality or the frost barrier impervious to all force — In the presence of the Divine Deer, they were as if they did not exist.
The Divine Deer didn't even bother to destroy the barriers.
She simply took Chu Feng and Xiao Yu'er and passed straight through them.
The formidable barriers still remained.
But before the Divine Deer, they might as well have been air.
"This grandson of yours certainly has an impressive trump card," came a voice from within Jie Tianran.
