The bronze mirror had an unusual design, but its surface revealed nothing at all.
As a Spirit World Master, Jie Tianran could tell that this bronze mirror was not useless.
On the contrary, it possessed tremendous power.
However, its strength had always remained locked away.
Previously, Jie Tianran had tried every conceivable method to open the bronze mirror, but all had been in vain.
Yet now, as the power of the Age of Gods was extracted, the bronze mirror seemed to receive a summons and finally responded.
Jie Tianran believed that the key to unlocking the bronze mirror might very well be the force that had entered the Seven Realms Heavenly River from the Age of Gods.
So rather than using that extracted power for cultivation, Jie Tianran devoted all of it to activating the bronze mirror.
And the bronze mirror actually absorbed the power.
"Jie Tianran, is it really necessary to use the mirror this way?"
"The power of the Age of Gods is excellent material for cultivation."
"If you could obtain all the power that entered your Seven Realms Heavenly River, it would be a considerable boost for you."
"Perhaps you could even step into the ranks of a Sixth Level Dragon Spirit World Master."
The voice of the old creature echoed from within Jie Tianran's body.
"This power is strong, but the true power of the Age of Gods lies deeper, within those three gates."
"And this bronze mirror — I expended no small effort to obtain it within the Age of Gods back then. It was my greatest prize."
"If I can open this mirror, I dare say the benefits I gain will far surpass any cultivation treasure."
Jie Tianran said.
"Truly impressive. Even though you urgently need to bolster your strength right now, you still keep your eyes on the long term."
"I truly chose the right person."
The old creature chuckled.
It was as though his earlier words had been a kind of test.
And Jie Tianran's answer was one that satisfied him.
In truth, the power within the depths of the Seven Realms Holy Mansion was arguably the most massive of the many streams of force from the Age of Gods that had entered the Seven Realms Heavenly River.
Yet before long, that power had been entirely absorbed by the bronze mirror.
The mirror now appeared somewhat brighter, but it still had not opened.
"The results aren't great. Should we continue?"
Seeing the lackluster outcome, the old creature harbored the intention of dissuading him.
But he did not say so directly, instead asking for Jie Tianran's thoughts.
"Continue," Jie Tianran said.
"Are you sure?"
"While it's true that opening the mirror is more important in the long run, if you're on the wrong track, squandering that power would be a net loss."
"One must not be too fixated. You need to learn to adapt."
The old creature advised.
"Senior, rest assured."
"I am certain that power was not meant for cultivation — it was meant for opening this mirror."
"In a way, this is the Age of Gods' trial for me," Jie Tianran declared.
"Very well. I hope you're right."
Seeing that his persuasion had no effect, the old creature said no more.
Jie Tianran then set out, preparing to leave the Seven Realms Holy Mansion to personally gather the fragments of power scattered across the Seven Realms Heavenly River.
But just as he stepped outside, an Observing Elder came to report.
"What has happened?"
Before the elder could even draw near, Jie Tianran asked in a sharp voice.
This elder was one of those specifically tasked with monitoring the changes in the Age of Gods.
His presence here meant something had happened with the Age of Gods.
"My Lord, there have been changes in the Age of Gods."
"Would you like to see for yourself?"
The elder had originally intended to invite Jie Tianran to observe the great formation.
After all, the Seven Realms Holy Mansion's observation formation was the most powerful such formation in the entire cultivation world, capable of discerning general changes across all the heavenly rivers.
