"Chu Feng, stop! Are you really going to kill the Old Cat?" The True Dragon looked at Chu Feng.
Chu Feng said nothing. The resolve in his eyes was his answer. He pressed both hands onto the bronze cauldron, and as his vast bloodline power surged into it, the beam of light enveloping the Old Cat shifted. The cat was drawn toward the cauldron.
The True Dragon was completely unable to stop it. He could only watch as the Old Cat was sucked inside.
From his vantage point, he could see the Old Cat's body rapidly disintegrating the moment it entered the cauldron.
"Chu Feng, you bastard! Siding with these beasts against me — I'll never forgive you even as a ghost!"
At first the Old Cat shrieked, then let out a furious roar. But after the roar, its voice grew weaker and weaker until it fell completely silent.
In that moment, the True Dragon's eyes were filled with regret. But things had already come to this, and there was no point saying anything more. He merely looked at Chu Feng and sighed.
"Chu Feng, you really are foolish."
With that, he departed.
As for Chu Feng, he descended to the ground, and the bronze cauldron shrank back to its normal size.
The members of the Ancient War Clan all gathered around, the patriarch among the first to reach him. He took the bronze cauldron directly and examined it carefully, confirming over and over.
Inside the cauldron, faint traces of the Old Cat's aura remained, but apart from some blood and tattered clothing, there was nothing else. It was clear that the Old Cat had been completely refined by the bronze cauldron.
Once this result was confirmed, the members of the Ancient War Clan finally let out a long breath of relief.
"Patriarch, what about that Spirit World Master from the Heavenly Dragon Realm?" the clan members asked.
"He does know young friend Chu Feng after all. Let it go. As long as he doesn't cause trouble again, we won't pursue the matter."
The patriarch turned his gaze toward Chu Feng.
Chu Feng's expression was grave, and he simply stared at the bronze cauldron in silence.
Anyone could see that his emotions were complicated. He wasn't certain whether what he had done was right.
"Young friend Chu Feng, from the looks of it, you still have your doubts."
"No matter. Didn't that cat demon claim it was the treasure of our Ancient War Clan itself?"
"Then let me take you to where the treasure lies, and the answer will speak for itself."
"Three young friends, follow me."
With that, the patriarch rose into the air despite his grievous injuries, leading Chu Feng and the other two toward the location of the treasure. A contingent of the Ancient War Clan's strongest fighters followed behind them.
Before long, Chu Feng arrived once more at the great hall.
The patriarch came to a stop not far from where Chu Feng and the others had originally landed.
The patriarch began forming hand seals, and luminous sigils drifted out from within his body — not from his five organs, but from his soul.
"It's a bloodline formation hidden within the soul. It must be an inheritance formation," Eggy remarked.
When the formation's power activated, the patriarch's entire body radiated a faint golden glow, as though he were a completely different person.
He extended his palm and rotated it toward the ceiling of the hall. With a soft shout of "Open," a barrier gate appeared before them.
Chu Feng and the others stepped through the barrier gate. The moment they entered, they could see a passage stretching straight upward.
The passage was filled with a terrifying force — the very force that even the World Fan Immortal had been unable to withstand.
Yet this force posed absolutely no harm to Chu Feng and the others now. More precisely, it could not harm any of the people present.
The source was the Ancient War Clan patriarch.
