Laughter echoed throughout. Eggy lay inside the Spirit Space, rolling around as she laughed.
Between fits of laughter, she said, "Chu Feng, you absolutely have to help with this one — it's the karmic debt left by your Master and your father! Hahahaha."
Chu Feng himself was left utterly speechless. He had truly never expected that these two people would turn out to be his Master and his father.
His Master had at least tried.
How was it that his father hadn't even bothered to try?
"Hmm?"
Just then, Jie Shanxian's expression shifted.
She walked over to the formation projection of Chu Feng's father, studying his face carefully before turning to look at Chu Feng. "Why do I feel like there's a resemblance between you two?"
"Huh? Resemblance?"
Chu Feng didn't dare admit that the man was his father.
Come to think of it, every time he encountered someone who knew his father, he never dared to acknowledge the connection.
Because all of those people seemed to have some grudge against his father.
"There really is a bit of a resemblance — but you're much better-looking than him."
After saying this, Jie Shanxian turned to Chu Feng. "Chu Feng, watch closely."
With that, she began forming hand seals.
Seeing this, Chu Feng breathed a small sigh of relief. It seemed Jie Shanxian only noticed a passing resemblance — she hadn't actually connected him to his father.
In that moment, Chu Feng silently thanked his mother. He thanked her for passing down at least some of her excellent looks to him.
Chu Feng focused intently on observing the hand seals Jie Shanxian was forming.
Before long, Jie Shanxian finished the demonstration and said to Chu Feng, "Chu Feng, I was just showing you the rhythm and tempo changes in the hand seals. Now I'll explain each seal in detail — commit them carefully to memory."
"Senior, I've already memorized them," Chu Feng said.
"What?" Jie Shanxian was momentarily stunned. She wasn't sure she'd heard him correctly.

"You may tell them the truth about what I said, but don't reveal who I am. Pretend you don't know my identity, and pretend you never saw my true face," Jie Shanxian replied.
"Understood." Chu Feng nodded.
"Now then, focus on your cultivation."
"Your two friends have already broken through. They're just waiting for you," Jie Shanxian said.
"As expected of Yu'er and Brother Shaoyu." Chu Feng smiled. He wasn't the least bit surprised by their breakthroughs.
Before long, the scenery around Chu Feng shifted as Jie Shanxian dismissed the secret technique.
Chu Feng's eyes remained closed, still deep in cultivation, but he didn't need to open them — his spiritual sense alone was enough to perceive the changes around him.
He could see that the cavern was now enveloped by a massive formation.
Wisps of energy radiated from within the formation, as though some fierce battle had taken place.
