With a boom, black-red aura erupted from Baili Zilin's body.
Baili Zilin had realized the situation was dire, so he hastily raised his cultivation, pushing it all the way to the Fourth-rank True God level.
But even so, he still couldn't move.
"You..."
Baili Zilin looked at Song Yun again, and fear finally surfaced in his eyes.
He couldn't sense Song Yun's cultivation level at all.
But he could be certain of one thing — Song Yun possessed absolute power far beyond his own.
Song Yun's hand, thrust into his body, hadn't taken his life. But with that absolute power flooding in, Baili Zilin had completely lost the ability to resist.
"What level are you at now?"
"What exactly did you gain inside the Demon Prison Tower?"
"Why have you made such tremendous progress?" Baili Zilin fired off questions one after another.
Song Yun didn't answer. Instead, she looked at Baili Zilin with cold eyes and said, "Kneel. Then say you'll never dare again."
"What did you say?"
Baili Zilin could hardly believe his ears.
"I told you to kneel," Song Yun repeated.
"How dare you! What's your status? You think you're worthy of making me kneel?" Baili Zilin scoffed.
"Gwaaah—!"
But in the next instant, Baili Zilin's face twisted in agony as he let out wails of pain.
The martial force released through Song Yun's palm seemed to transform into countless venomous insects, surging wildly into his body and tormenting him mercilessly.
Most critically, under the suppression of that power, Song Yun could take his life at any moment.
"If you dare kill me, my father will absolutely never let you off." Baili Zilin glared at Song Yun with vicious hatred.
"Why wouldn't I dare kill you?"
"Do you really think this Prison Sect is your Baili family's domain?"
"Besides, you attacked me first. If I really killed you, it would just be an act of self-defense."
"I'm an injured person — already weak in body, muddled in mind. When someone suddenly ambushes me and I lose my rational control, killing you would be perfectly normal," Song Yun said coldly.
"You—" Baili Zilin panicked. Not only did he feel that what Song Yun said made sense, but her cold gaze and the killing intent he sensed made him believe she was truly capable of doing it.
"Just like you said, I've made such tremendous progress, and you're the one in the wrong here. Do you think the Prison Sect would protect me, or would they pursue charges against me on behalf of a dead you?" Song Yun added.
Hearing this, Baili Zilin clenched his fists, veins bulging across his body.
But he still swallowed his rage and said, aggrieved, "Is this all because of that Chu Feng? He's just an outsider — you're really going to take things this far, to the point where we can't coexist?"
"Oh, I'm the one taking things too far?"
"Baili Zilin, shall I remind you of the reason you came here in the first place?"
Song Yun let out a cold laugh, and the frost in her eyes returned.
"Aaaah—!"
In the next moment, Baili Zilin let out an utterly agonized scream, feeling as though his very soul was about to be completely shattered by that martial force.
Song Yun had launched an even more frenzied assault on him.
He refused to give in and endured.
But feeling his life slipping away, he finally gritted his teeth and dropped to his knees with a thud.
Then he shouted loudly, "I'll never dare again!!!"
"Remember what you said today."
"If you provoke Chu Feng again, you won't be this lucky."
With that, Song Yun withdrew her palm and turned to walk away.
Baili Zilin collapsed to the ground, gasping for air in deep, heaving breaths.
But what dominated his expression was fury.
He realized he'd been played — Song Yun had never actually dared to kill him. She'd only been bluffing.
And yet, pathetic as it was, the bluff had worked. He had actually knelt before Song Yun and begged for mercy.
"You weren't injured at all. You were faking it." Baili Zilin scrutinized Song Yun once more.
He noticed that her entire bearing had changed.
This didn't look like the demeanor of someone gravely wounded at all.
"That's right. If I hadn't faked the injury, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the power of this formation. And this has been extremely beneficial for me," Song Yun said.
"The healing power — it's useful to you?" Baili Zilin asked.
"Of course," Song Yun nodded.
"What kind of power did you actually gain?" Baili Zilin asked again.
