"Little Feng, Little Feng, hurry up and take out those cultivation resources! Let this great lord see what good stuff the Totem Dragon Clan gave you!"
Inside Chu Feng's room on the floating warship, the Sky-Devouring Qilin — a creature that looked like a pig but wasn't — bounced up and down before him, its eyes gleaming with desire.
With a sweep of Chu Feng's sleeve, the room flooded with golden light — a vast expanse of golden crystals.
These were the cultivation resources the Totem Dragon Clan's Clan Master had given Chu Feng.
But the Sky-Devouring Qilin's gaze had already drifted elsewhere.
There was a small formation, and within it were three scale-like objects.
Within the formation they looked unremarkable, but once the formation was removed, each scale would tower above the clouds, making even ordinary mountains look minuscule by comparison.
In truth, the scales were manifestations of aura.
These were the Dragon Scales — the cultivation resources the Qilin had prepared for Chu Feng, most likely refined from the scales of the Ancestral Dragon's remains.
But Chu Feng had already examined the Ancestral Dragon's remains. Only bones remained, no scales — which meant these scales were extraordinarily precious.
It was precisely for this reason that the Sky-Devouring Qilin's eyes were shining.
"Dragon scales. Real dragon scales."
"Little Feng, hurry up and release the formation so this great lord can eat them!" the Sky-Devouring Qilin said.
"You've lost your mind."
"These are my cultivation resources for breaking through to True God. Eat them? Like hell you're eating them."
Chu Feng shot it a glare.
"Little Feng, these are true dragon artifacts. With your current cultivation, you won't be able to refine them easily."
"Give them to this great lord to eat. Once I refine them, I guarantee you'll break through to True God," the Sky-Devouring Qilin said.
"You refine too slowly," Chu Feng said.
"This time will be fast. Last time's Dragon Marrow already gave this lord experience."
"One month. I guarantee I'll finish refining them for you, and I guarantee you'll break through to True God realm," the Sky-Devouring Qilin said.
"You're sure? If you're lying to me, don't blame me for activating the formation," Chu Feng said.
Before Chu Feng had even brought out the cultivation resources, he had already examined them.
They were indeed far too special.
And powerful — incredibly powerful.
Chu Feng could barely refine them, but it would waste a tremendous amount.
They were clearly top-tier cultivation resources, yet Chu Feng wasn't confident he could break through to True God using them alone.
"This lord guarantees it," the Sky-Devouring Qilin said, raising a pig hoof.
"Fine. I'll trust you one more time." As he spoke, Chu Feng released the formation — not completely, but opened a small aperture in it.
After all, if he released it entirely, the scales would be far too large for the room.
The Sky-Devouring Qilin opened its massive mouth, and a force that could devour heaven and earth erupted forth.
Those enormous scales vanished into its belly in an instant.
Not just the three scales — even the crystals the Totem Dragon Clan's Clan Master had given Chu Feng were swallowed whole.
"Why did you eat those too?" Chu Feng demanded.
"Same thing. Those crystals are hard for you to refine too. This lord will help you refine them all together."
With that, the Sky-Devouring Qilin transformed back into a badge and hung itself on Chu Feng's chest.
Chu Feng was speechless.
The creature had a bad habit of acting first and asking permission later.
But it wasn't wrong. Those crystals, while not as precious as the scales, would still be partially wasted if Chu Feng refined them himself.
And because the Nine Thunder Beasts inside his body had such enormous appetites, even if he refined all those crystals, it still wouldn't be nearly enough to break through to True God.
"Hey, I'm talking to you, Qilin Pig — have you started refining yet?" Chu Feng asked.
But the Sky-Devouring Qilin didn't respond.
Though Chu Feng felt the Qilin was unreliable, last time's Dragon Marrow had genuinely benefited him.
Besides, even if he refined everything himself, he couldn't break through. So he really had no choice but to trust it.
Without any cultivation resources left, Chu Feng didn't continue studying the iron piece he had obtained from the Era of the Gods within his Dantian.
