As they did so, Chu Feng did not immediately leave. Instead, he stayed behind to observe.
Before long, he was able to distinguish three different types of people among them.
The first type were those who were naturally suited to gathering the power found in this place.
The second type were those who could not gather power here at all.
The third type were those who had the ability to gather even stronger power.
Chu Feng promptly separated them into their respective groups and led them to seek out power that matched their individual capabilities.
The formation powers also varied — some were offensive in nature, some were defensive, and some fell into other categories.
Chu Feng asked each person about their personal preferences and arranged formations accordingly based on their individual wishes.
In short, he gave it his all.
This was not merely a matter of helping them — he himself stood to benefit as well.
Most importantly, these people had followed him, and that had required a certain amount of courage. They might even end up paying a price for it.
Everyone had to walk their own path, and everyone needed to pay the price for their own choices. Chu Feng could not protect them forever, nor did he need to.
But at the very least, here and now, he was unwilling to let their choices go to waste.
After some time, Chu Feng helped every last one of them find a formation power that suited them.
As for actually gathering the formation power, that would take time, so the rest was up to them.
Chu Feng suspected that the people from the Red Soul Sect might pose a threat to them.
He therefore told them of a designated gathering point. Anyone who successfully gathered power should not act rashly, but instead go to the gathering point and wait.
He also left them with rescue talismans — if they encountered danger, they needed only crush the talisman, and Chu Feng could locate them by it.
At that moment, in the skies above, only four people remained: Chu Feng, Qin Xuan, Yuwen Yanri, and Zhao Zhuyin.
Chu Feng took out three more barrier maps and handed one to each of the three.
These maps not only marked the locations of hidden formations but also noted some of their specific characteristics.
"There wasn't enough time to observe every single formation, so I could only get a rough assessment of these," Chu Feng said.
"That's more than enough, more than enough. More than enough to choose from."
"Brother Chu Feng, exploring ruins with you really makes me feel like I'm completely useless."
"But I enjoy that feeling," Qin Xuan said with a wide, cheerful grin.
"Alright, alright. We're not strangers anymore, so drop the flattery. Just stay within your limits and choose something that suits you. And hurry — you've got plenty of tokens, so don't let them go to waste," Chu Feng said.
"Got it. We're off then." Qin Xuan and Yuwen Yanri immediately flew off in different directions.
But Zhao Zhuyin did not leave.
"What's wrong, Miss Zhao? None of the formations I marked caught your eye?" Chu Feng asked.
"I'm coming with you. I want to try and see whether I can successfully gather the power you're going for," Zhao Zhuyin said.
"Sure." Chu Feng smiled faintly and set off at once. In truth, he had already chosen his target formation.
In his possession, he had three types of blank tokens.
The weakest were the two he had just crafted.
Then there were twelve of better quality.
And the six of the finest quality.
Chu Feng was not certain whether gathering formation power was time-limited. To be safe, he decided to use his six finest tokens first to gather the strongest formation power this place had to offer.
The first place he arrived at was a formation that concealed offensive and killing power.
After all, Chu Feng, Yuwen Yanri, and Zhao Zhuyin had already obtained a life-preserving talisman imprint earlier.
That imprint was extraordinarily powerful. With it, within this Era of the Gods, unless it was another formation power, no matter how powerful an entity they encountered, it would be unable to eliminate them.
So defensive measures were not a concern. What they needed now were offensive means.
