"Senior, are those demigod puppets only first-rank demigods, or are there ones at higher realms?"
Chu Feng asked again.
After all, if they were only first-rank demigods, it wouldn't matter how many there were. Even second-rank demigods might not be enough to stop the Alchemy Dao Immortal Sect.
"Six hundred first-rank demigods."
"Two hundred second-rank demigods."
"One hundred third-rank demigods."
"And thirty-two more puppets whose exact realms are unknown, only that they are confirmed to be in the demigod realm."
Yao Cheng said.
"They actually have that kind of strength?"
Hearing this, Chu Feng's heart surged with joy. He finally understood why Yao Cheng had said this puppet army could save the Nine Souls Galaxy.
With that kind of combat power, if they could be unleashed, they would truly be able to deal with Sima Xiangtu and the people of the Alchemy Dao Immortal Sect.
At the same time, however, Chu Feng still had some doubts.
"Senior, can the Yao Ling Clan not control this puppet army?"
The reason Chu Feng asked this was that he felt the Yao Ling Clan should hate the Nine Souls Sacred Clan to the bone. And with the puppet army's combat power, it could absolutely flatten the Nine Souls Galaxy. Why hadn't the Yao Ling Clan used the puppet army to exact their revenge?
There were only two possibilities.
Either the current Yao Ling Clan no longer wanted revenge, or the Yao Ling Clan simply could not control the puppet army.
"The one who forged the puppet army left behind a formation before departing," Yao Cheng answered. "He said that whoever could break the formation would be able to command the puppet army. But only the younger generation could attempt to break it."
"Over these eight hundred years, juniors of my Yao Ling Clan have continuously challenged that formation. But clearly, none among us have been able to break through it. So for a full eight hundred years, this puppet army has remained a force that my Yao Ling Clan cannot command."
Chu Feng's guesses had been on the mark.
"Then Senior, would the Yao Ling Clan be willing to let us attempt the formation and take control of the puppet army? Or would you have to sneak us in to break it?"
Chu Feng pressed further, and his concern was entirely reasonable.
Put yourself in their shoes — forget the grudge between the Yao Ling Clan and the Nine Souls Sacred Clan for a moment. Just consider that with such a powerful puppet army, one could rule the Nine Souls Galaxy entirely. Who wouldn't want that power for themselves? Who would willingly hand it over to outsiders?
Any sane person would refuse to let outsiders attempt the formation.
One only needed to look at the Zhuge Family as an example. They had gone so far as to use schemes over a mere inheritance formation, refusing to let outsiders enter for fear that someone else would seize that power.
"Under normal circumstances, they indeed would not agree," Yao Cheng said. "However, eight hundred years ago, the one who forged the puppet army left explicit instructions. If a junior entered this place, even if they were not a member of the Yao Ling Clan, they would be permitted to challenge the formation that commands the puppet army."
"Yet the Yao Ling Clan is resistant toward outsiders and may not necessarily honor this rule. You could even lose your lives if you're discovered."
"Then what should we do?" Wang Yuxian asked.
"My Yao Ling Clan does reject outsiders, but we also respect the strong. Your cultivation, compared to our younger generation, is already quite formidable. But it's not enough."
